Life Source Natural Foods

Finding a gem like Life Source made my transition moving from Portland to Salem so much easier. The staff is fantastic. They are friendly, helpful, and (get this) actually enjoy their work! I'm happy to support a company that is independently owned and focused on sustainability.

I used to shop here a lot, could be more than 10 times a month. Since a few months ago, I've noticed that the prices for produce have become MUCH more expensive. That has made me shop more frequently at other stores like Fred Meyer and New Seasons in Portland (I go to Portland every Sunday). For example: the price for organic bananas in FM is $0.79/lb (and they reduce the price to $0.25/lb if the bananas are almost too ripe) and in LS it's more than $1.20/lb the last time I went there! However, I agree that the staff are very helpful.

An absolutely top notch health and natural food store. Great selection of organic produce; cheese and dairy products; household items; packaged, bulk foods, and frozen foods; fresh meat and poultry. Many Oregon and local products. And a really nice wine selection!

Excellent selection of herbal and homeopathic remedies, vitamins, and other health products. Best of the, the people in charge of the health department REALLY know what they're talking about and can help find the right product. They never steer you to the most expensive items!

The deli offers soups and 2-3 different dishes made in the store; items change daily but almost everything I've ever tried is wonderful.

The staff is friendly, knowledgable and helpful and the prices are extremely reasonable -- sometimes less than what you would pay at the supermarket.

If you're local, be sure to get on their mailing list for their excellent newsletter.

One last thing -- these people "walk the talk" if you'll excuse that trite saying. They do many things to support the principles of sustainability.

I recently stumbled into this store looking for bulk molasses and wow, I was impressed by the wonder customer dervice I received while there. Not only did a staff member greet me as I entered, but she answered all my questions and personally directed me right to the molasses and even assisted me with finding the right container to put it in!

Lifesource is a quaint, granola-like health food store not far from my house. They have a wide variety of specialty food items and a good supply of wheat-free products.

Lifesource Natural Foods located off of Commercial street is awesome. My husband went in a few months ago and wanted to stay and shop for quite a while. They have a great selection and I think is one of the biggest Natural Foods store in Salem. I would highly recommend them!

Lifesource natural foods is abundantly stocked with a wide variety of organic and natural foods, including meat products. Additionally, the staff there are very helpful and willing to go out of their way to look up and order unusual products. The staff are all friendly and relaxed.

Lifesource is the best natural store around. You can find anything here that you might be looking for and the employees are helpful as well. I am much more of a mainstream person and I find it comfortable and inviting. On the weekends sometimes they have special events and samples. Great place to shop.

If you are looking for organic products, this place has it all (almost!) They have a great selection of organic produce, as well as bulk foods, frozen foods, canned, boxed and more! They also have a great selection of toiletries! As this is a speciality store, prices tend to be on the high side, but they often have sales and you can get some good deals!

The best thing, in my humble opinion, is their selection of organic chocolate. Once you have tried it, you will wonder why you ever bothered with conventional! Dagoba (which is made in Oregon) creates wonder latte chocolate. YUM YUM!

When I need something specific that I can't get anywhere else or need to look for quality supplements, etc. I stop by Lifesource. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and seem to really care about the health of their customers.

I love shopping Lifesource for their interesting brands not found elsewhere. Lots of local organic produce, great sandwiches and bulk foods. The staff are FRIENDLY and HELPFUL and HAPPY to work there. They give a senior discount. They have child-size shopping carts which my kids love to use and make shopping easier with them. I love the interesting chips and snacks you can find there. Parking is easy. I should shop there more often.

A very nice store for picking up organic food and produce. The variety is large, the staff is extrememly helpful and I love their newsletter. The prices are a little higher than the organic section of some grocery stores - but the staff is more knowledgeable adn they will complete special orders. A fun perk is getting to try various items as you enter the store - everything has been most delicious!

A good little grocery store with many choices available for those trying to make healthier choices. Prices are a bit high but no more so that other health food stores. They have a great bulk food section. If you wanted you could get everything you needed there.

Looking for a place that has fresh organic foods, a wide slection of vitamins, bakery goods, and a wonderful deli?
Lifesource is the place. Conveniently located, reasonable prices, nice variety and selection, as well as attentive, helpful employees. If you have any questions about vitmins or homeopathic remedies, the staff is available and more than willing to help. Love their soups! (You can even sample them.)

PROS: Selection, reasonable prices and delicious bakery & deli items.
