Pick something that sounds good and order it, you won't be let down. We eat here just about every week and everything, from the tortellini to the pizza to the specials, is well-made with quality ingredients. I have gone through several different 'the usuals', changing periodically just to be sure I'm not missing out on anything.
The service is great, you pour your own beverages but they bring the food and clear the table afterward. This allows them to keep the prices down (and they are very reasonable). The owners are often behind the counter and always very friendly.
I only went there because of restaurantcom Yes, the certificate stated 18% gratuity, however, I thought it was something restaurantcom automatically put on all their certs. and that only certain restaurants would uphold that. I believe tipping was optional, based on your service that your server gave you--FRIENDLY, PROMPT! and not one where you are constantly seeking to ask for a napkin! I don't believe in tipping when I am standing at a counter ordering like I would at McDonald's including where I get my own drinks, my own napkins, etc. So, fine..the girls wants to uphold the 18% tip--and get this, she never gave me the cup for my son's drink, I ended up getting up and using their water cups and got him his soda! So, I put a call into the owner, he calls me back and says, "well, it's optional--except on these certificates." I asked him why he leaves a tip.."I just do." Not for good service, crappy service, or anything, he just does...ok fine..well, do you tip the guy that pumps your gas? I don't think they make anymore than your server at your restaurant..do you tip him?? shivering in the cold pumping your gas?? So, yes irritated that they would uphold it, so, instead of saving "$10" like the coupon would save me, I saved $6. Like my con said, if I was going to pay that price, I'd pay the same and go to Olive Garden! Their food was much better anyway. Honestly, pasta's food--what we had, was just so so. Not bad, but only so-so.
Pros: not much
Cons: same price, I would have gone to olive garden
We love Pasta Veloce and eat there several times a month. There daily pasta and raviloi specials are amazing as well as their salads. They also have take out and catering as well.
Pros: Consistantly Great and fast
Cons: None
I've always enjoyed Pasta Veloce for good food at a good value. Last Monday my 5 year old son and I went in for lunch and were treated very rudely by the waitress/cashier that was there. She kept pushing for me to buy a slice of pizza even though I had attempted to order a Bambini pizza 3 times. After a frustrating attempt and a very clear "no I don't want a slice of cheese pizza only" she snapped back and said that it would be awhile because she was the only one there. There was nobody else other than my son and I and this was at 11:30 AM, half an hour after the restaurant opened. What the hell was her problem?!?!
Pros: Example: best croissants in town
Cons: What are the drawbacks?
I have been visiting Pasta Veloce for the last 5 years now... I love their soups - especially the vegetable lentil soup. Their portions are the right size and the salad they serve with the Panini's is out of this world.
I am a big bread fan, and love the way they grill the bread before serving it.Place is clean, homely and busy , but never overcrowded.Love the Tirimasu.
Pros: Good Food, Homely environment...
I had the BEST PANINI EVER! It's called a pollo. Basic stuff, chicken, grilled onions, grilled yellow and red peppers, cheese and creamy spread... but the kicker is that you can substitute salmon for chicken for about $0.50. The salmon was grilled to perfection (not too dry and realy moist) and the bread was soft and fluffy. It was like the perfect slightly-gourmet comfort food after a long hard day. And the side bowtie pasta salad was AMAZING. I spent all night trying to figure out what was on it.... maybe coconut. My fiance didn't really like his chicken alfredo...mmmm.... but I can already tell that the Pollo (salmon) panini is going to become habit-forming meal for me. The service was a little slow for take-out (about 15 minutes), but worth the wait. Next, the mac n'cheese.
Pros: Tasty panini, very affordable, takeout option is great
Cons: Service was a little slow, alfredo was only "okay", VERY strong breeze from the double doors
