This bar is great and unassuming. It's beer and wine only and they have strange hours, no late nights and closed on saturdays I think. The entire staff is friendly and the jukebox is filled with classic country hits. The decor is equally as wonderful.

seriously, you can drink a PBR for 1.50 and watch an old chicago coin band box dance to you selections on the ancient jukebox.
you can make eyes at someone thru gold/smoked glass mirrors.
you can relax in the large brown seats that hug you when you sit in them. who wouldent love that? there are rock shows on saturdays that
are amazing. the schedule is on thier myspace page www.myspace/sloanstavern.you must check it out.

If you are looking for some good diner food (which is hard to find these days in portland) then do yourself a favor and go to sloan's. this mom and pop place has the food and the 1970s decore to make you feel like you've taken a trip back in time. I have tried ALL of the sandwiches and they are amazing! best Ruben i've had in years!

A great place for lunch or dinner. The food is very good, 2 juke boxes, new and old, pool table, big screen. Everything you need. Great onion rings.
