First, the hard sell by the owner at the door (I new I should have kept walking!). Then the soda with the taste of soap or cleaning liquid. The clam chowder tasted like it came from a dried supermarket soup mix. Worst of all, the expensive mix of crab, shrimp, squid, clam, mussel (note the singular usage) in a "white wine and herb sauce" was a bland unappetizing mess in a gray liquid that tasted more like something you'd find a windshield squeegee sitting in.
Way overpriced. Do NOT do it!

Our experience at this establishment was something of a myth. We were going to go to Moe's next door but were persuaded by the owner that the ICM served the freshest renowned seafood in the area. It was the worst seafood experience of our lives, all 8 people in our party concurred. The sides were frozen or instant and were still cold. The seafood was obviously frozen, not right off the dock which you are fooled into thinking with the location. 3 of the 8 in our group got sick. The only good thing was the clam chowder, however one of the three that got sick only ate clam chowder. From the look of others expressions and the conversations at other tables I don't see how this place will ever survive. We wanted to speak to the manager who was sitting in the corner with his buddies haveing a good old time. He refused to speak to us which is classless and was the last straw. Please stay away from this and go to Moe's next door. What a horrible experience!

During our summer vacation to Florence on the Oregon Coast, my fiance and I were excited to visit the C-Food Market, home of some of the best clam chowder we could remember from our visit last year. Walking in the door for the second time, we couldn't believe we were in the same place. Service was absolutely horrible from start to finish, beginning with the scowling hostess who didn't say more than two words to us. Despite the fact that it was about 11:15 in the morning and we were one of the only parties in the restaurant, it took ages for someone to come and take our orders. Once we did, we waited and waited, until the chowder finally arrived, our drinks a bit afterwards (after we asked again about their wherabouts). My fiance ordered a pepperoni pizza, and it was the most disgusting, grease-laden thing either of us had ever seen (and keep in mind, we're counting the grocery store Tostino's Party Pizzas he warms up for a snack every now and then). My dungeoness crab sandwich was all right, but without any kind of aioli or sauce on the big kaiser roll, it was very dry and bready. After finishing this extremely disappointing meal, we began the wait for our check. When it finally came, we got sick of waiting for someone to return to take the card and run it, so I went straight up the counter. After personally handing my card to the waiter, it took TEN MINUTES to run my card and get it back to me! Apparently there were a "lot of other cards to run", which was funny as the lunch rush hadn't even been finished seating by the time we were very ready to leave. I was absolutely livid, paying over $50 for one of the worst meals and definitely the worst service in memory. I considered talking to the manager, but I figured it was a lost cause, this place seems to be extremely apathetically managed. There's some great little places to eat in Florence and the surrounding coast towns. Please just avoid this one.

Pros: Clam Chowder

Cons: Prices, Service (or lack therof)

There's something about eating seafood in a waterfront restaurant that is especially satisfying. This full service place is located along the Siuslaw River docks where the fishermen come in with their catch from the Pacific. There are not great river views but it has a feel of the adjacent activity. Needless to say, the fish is fresh. I prefer the seating on the bar side of the restaurant as opposed to the booths when you come in the door. I've never liked the name of this restaurant but the food keeps me as a returning customer.
