Nice blue collar bar. They have some of the best country bands in that I have heard in Oregon. It almost makes you forget you're in Gresham.

I disagree with Jennifer. I was there the night she and her girlfriend were so called dancing and kissing. They were actually lap dancing. And the bartender didn't kick them out. She politely asked them to not dirty dance. The ladies threw a fit and stormed out. I have been a long time customer of the M&M and it has always been a very friendly and welcome place for all. The food is good and the drinks are reasonably priced. There is great entertainment with live music on Friday & Saturday, a jam on Sunday and great karaoke on Wednesday and Thursday. This is a really fun place.

I've both played in bands at the M+M Lounge and gone to shows there and I can say it is a nice little suburban bar populated largely by working-class, conservative, white men - and there's nothing wrong with that! Decor is pretty much '70s and dark as the inside of a cow, but the staff are friendly and the place hasn't yet been 'discovered' by the hipsters yet so the place has few pretentions which is nice - what you see is pretty much what you get.

The couple times my band played there a few years back the staff was very helpful and the regular house band that played before us offered to let us use their equipment. Shortly thereafter I went to see my friend's psycho-billy/shoe-gaze/gimmick band play there and all went well. A few band members got drunk and got the regular clientele a little mad with the lewd jokes from the stage but by and large the typical crowd there is pretty mellow so long as they don't think you are some hipster who's there 'slumming it' to be ironic. I would imagine people with alternative lifestyles would be accepted just fine so long as they didn't flaunt their identity in front of everybody. Remember, this is Gresham - it ain't the Pearl or Hawthorne!

There's plenty of pathos. The guy who plays Elvis covers every night is a regular but very nice. Just relax and have a good time and most people there will be quite nice and very chill.

Hello,My name is Jennifer, I just wanted to inform other fellow gays and lesbians that I went out to a bar in Gresham, OR. On 10-4-08, Called the M&M lounge. I wouldn't suggest anyone visit the business as for my girlfriend and I were kicked out for dancing together and kissing. It was not only discrimination but they made a big deal about it in front of the 2 table that were sitting next to us. I am also going to contact the BBB.I am informing others of this so that they will not have to experience the same type of situation and embarrassment that we did.

I was having a great time from the moment I walked in!
This awesome unknown singer/guitarist dude Alan something or other was up on stage wowing the crowd and the beers and mixed drinks were a-flowin'.
The Karaoke there is way cool and they have, like, 20,000 songs in their repertoire.

OK, here is the dude who was playing :
http://www.myspace.com/alanbennettprettydittys

Why even the owner of the place told me personally she wanted me back in anytime! And all I did was drink 2 cokes. Must have been the WAY I drank them....I dunno.

Burp.

Thanks for the great time M&M!

My girlfriends and I went out recently celebrating a birthday and didn't want to drive too far. Wow, we couldn't believe the quality of the JImi Lund band in, of all places, the M & M . We didn't expect much at the M & M and had not heard of the Jimi Lund band before. We danced and danced - didn't matter where we were. What a good time! What a great band! Thanks to the M & M for a great evening. We'll certainly look for this band next time we head out .

Thank you for your wonderful service today - after being ignored at the Central Cafe after being seated for over 10 minutes, we got up and left for the M and M. Good food, instant service - 2/3s of the tables were filled with one server and she was perfect.

Pros: good food, great service

Cons: smoke from the bar

The M&M restaurant and lounge are okay the customer service does leave something to be desired though. Their idea of live music isnt the best quality either. The food is satisfactory but they need to do some revamping of their establishment.

The red naugahyde booths and swivel chairs date this joint back to the 70's, and most of it looks like it was intentionally remodeled that way for whatever reason. Two large rooms--one for the bar and one for the dancefloor and stage make this a spacious hang out. A lot of professional drinkers spend the evening here, but the weekends can get hoppin' if the band is good, which can be an issue. Good, generous food selections on the reasonably-priced menu (check out the club sandwich), stiff drinks, and no weekend cover charge make this a good value. Bands to watch for there are the Kid Lopez Band, Jesse Samsel, Rose City Kings, Aaron Black.

PROS: Convenient parking, big dancefloor
CONS: Heavy drinkers, smoking, inconsistent band quality.
