If you don't enjoy the Ringside at Glendoveer, you probably don't appreciate fine food, excellent service and all things wonderful that the.Portland area has to offer. There are many flights back to California daily from PDX should you

Birthday celebrated Friday was fantastic - the service was timely and friendly; the food was awesome, especially my Rib Steak; and it was a nice buzz of happy diners around that made it fun!
Ringside, we'll see you soon! We need to check out the Happy Hour - heard it's awesome as well!

Pros: Service, Food & Ambience A+

Cons: Must drive out to 140th

.

Steaks are very expensive

No vegetables/salads with meals that are up to $39.95

Steak was improperly prepared and returned

Cocktails were watered down

No import beers on tap

This restaurant needs an entire overhaul of their quality to price ratio. For an established restaurant that is highly regarded, it was one of our worst restaurant experiences ever.

Extremely disappointing experience. Will not recommend and will never go to this restaurant again.

The lounge at Ringside Glendoveer has a great happy hour, the staff is fantastic, and the fire is nice to cozy up to during the frigid winter months. Just be careful not to order the entire happy hour menu as it can get a bit spendy.

Great Steak and a throwback atmosphere! Attentive staff but not very knowledgeable about wine pairings. I would recommend this place for a great dinner after 18 holes of golf!

They have the best prime rib in the area. We ended up on their mailing list, so we get coupons for our anniversary and birthdays. The coupons make the price great. The service is great. The restaurant itself could use a little remodeling. It is a little dark inside, maybe it is supposed to be romantic.

This is the place for someone who is a serious steak lover. The decor and atomosphere isn't anything special, but their food and service are very good. I would rank it as one of the top three steak houses in Portland.

We had recived a coupon in the mail for ringside east, so we went. When we didn't order drinks or wine
( we don't drink) and told the waiter that we had a coupon, he pretty much wrote us off. I am sure he figured that we would tip on the reduced amount, so why bother with these loosers. wife's steak was rare or raw in the middle, She asked for medium well. Humm. strange that a steak house would get that so wrong. Never recived bread ( we got the plates for it) Had to ask for bread, not cool.
My problem with this place is that the menu has a very limited selection to choose from and rather high prices at that. Still love Ringside west, just don't like the east or at least the waiter that we had.

Pros: well dressed waiters

Cons: the more you spend the better the service

They fix only the finest steak exactly how you order it. It melts in your mouth. The waiters all wear tuxedos and have worked there for years. They also are famous for their onion rings. A very fine restaurant.

Seriously. did he say overpriced and applebees in the same paragraph? Oh...let's not mention safeway. So stay at home. Sorry. This place is great, and unexpected exquisite atmosphere and service period not to mention the area. If you want a great meal, great ambiance and not a snobby Ruth Chris waiter / atmosphere this is your place. Go to Ruth Chris on the company and take your spouse here and have the same great meal in your neighborhood without spending outrageous prices.

Seriously treat yourself. The prices may seem a little high but are completely worth it. The staff is knowledgeable and very proper. There truly isn't a weak menu item and the wine list is incredible. Dress up and make a reservation you won't regret it. If you don't want to make it a formal affair I would also recommend Happy Hour. The steak tid-bits are awesome.

The Ringside is the place to go if you want a no-frills, old fashioned steak dinner. The steak is amazing. Even my husband, who generally prefers seafood, really enjoyed the steak here. The onion rings are fantastic as well. This Ringside location is generally a little big easier to get into than the downtown Ringside, but both are worth the wait.

One night my husband and I decided to order to go from this location. The phone was busy for hours. So I decided to drive there to order in person. I walked up to the front counter and said I would like to place a to go order please. The manager dressed in a suit said to me sorry not at this time. I was baffled! What do you mean not at this time? I mean it's like going to a car dealership to buy a car and the sales manager tells you sorry we don't have any cars at this time. I was irrate!!! What a snobby man I thought. Unfortunately, we went back to the same location for a family dinner. The service was so so, but what's new. We're really there for the food. Four of us decided to try their Kobe Style Filet Mignon, which was the most expensive order on the menu, but get this....they didn't have any. Are you kidding me? I just hate, absolutely hate dining at a restaurant where you are judge by your cover and age. Yes we prefer to dress casual sometimes and yes we are young, but that doesn't mean we don't deserve good service. So 10 for the steak and 3 for the service. Be advised, if you are looking for a young and hip place, this is not it.

Pros: Steak, onion rings, scallops, creme brulee, coffee, appetizers

Cons: Service, atmosphere (boring/for older people), dinning as a family recommended just for the food

My wife & I were were there with another couple. We had made reservations and arrived 15-20 early and were seated as soon as we arrived. We asked for a recommendation on wine from the "value menu, under 30.00" and it turned out to be excellent, our waitress was very knowledgeable. We opted for steaks, myself the filet with a side of oysters. The meat was cooked exactly as asked and was almost fork tender, one of the best steaks I've had in years. After dinner a trip to the bar for a cigar, it was noce to have that option. All in all a wonderful experience.

When I pay anywhere from $25 to $65 dollars for a plate of food and I'm taking another couple out to dinner, I want us all to be loving the food. That was not the case. It was extremely fair, but I want better then fair. The only comment made that night were polite comments, to not be rude, like "nice atmosphere" or "it's good. We made reservations days in advance, and we were given a table next to where the servers ring up their checks. I'm looking around wondering why people eat there, and what was on my mind was either, "it was there first time there too, or they haven't been to very many great restaurants." Or is it because Ringside's past reputation? I'm sorry to say, that I was just not impressed. I love restaurants and I almost always love what they do, but I just had to write a review, which is not even in my nature, because I don't what someone else to be disappointed. I hope this helps someone have a better experience when they are trying to say thank-you to some ones they care about and want to create a "moment" or have a special occasion.

We had some kind of deal from my husband work for a 20% off on the entire meal, which I slipped with the credit card when I paid. Then the waiter made a announcement when he got back to the table about the discount that was taken off on the check...... so lame and unprofessional for an older gentleman in a tux. When do people learn how to act? OK, I think I have made my point.... really this place is not what you want for a special occasion.

This was my first time in Portland and went to the Ringside for my birthday dinner. I had the chicken breast balsamico and it was the GREATEST chicken I've ever had and will probably ever have!!! everyone elses food was spectacular as well. Just some drawbacks.....the service was friendly but the waiter took a VERY long time with everything and we barely saw him throughout the meal. We had a reservation at 9:30pm, so by the time we got there, the restaurant was pretty much cleared out. We were also never given the wine list until after the dinner was over with and we were given the dessert menu with the wine list on the other side. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!

When ever we have something to celebrate we go to Ringside. It has that special occasion feel and is not any more expensive then the restuarants we usually go to. It is also a great place for an office lunch if you don't want to deal with the downtown hassle. The waiters are very professional and remind me of European waiters who have the job for life.

10 years ago the ringside east was one of the best in town. Lost is the casual atmosphere that has been replaced by tuxido dressed waiters, a high priced a al cart mene that will easily run $60 a plate and a snobish atmosphere. I went expecting the old ringside that had great food and service at a resonable price. Apperantly they are now trying to cater to the a yuppi crowd. Save your money. Go to costco and buy some ribeyes and grill them at home. You'll have as good of a steak at a great price without some tuxido clad old waiter making you feel under dressed.

I was taken to the Ringside for my birthday and had a great time. I noticed most people eating there were on the heavy side, and I figured them to be return patrons because the menu is none to slimming, but oh so tasty. I had the prime rib and onion soup. I went later for lunch and experienced the onion rings. I am so hungry right now!

Although their steaks are great, it is the salads, the seafood dishes, and the service that makes this our favorite weekend escape from the kids!
