I will never be able to thank Corey and his company for what they did for us. We took our car into them hoping that it would be a minor repair. It wasn't. We had to have the transmission rebuilt. In doing the work Corey found that the transmission repair was do to a faulty ignition switch put in by another company 7 months ago. Not only did they rebuild the transmission they put in another ignition switch. My husband just started a new job so we were worried about the cost. Corey was more concerned with fixing our car than having the money up front like most companies. He is working with us and is accepting payments on the work performed. How many other companies will do that. Corey's company is honest, professional and cares about their customers. How refreshing is it to find a company like this. I would not hesitate to send friends and family to them. I can never thank them enough for the kind and fair treatment. They are a wonderful and upstanding company.

Corey at Larry & Sons really knows his stuff. Came in needing a transmission repair, and his team got to work on it real quick! It's been running a few weeks now, without any problems. Definitely satisfied with the service I got over there. Thanks again Corey!

Larry & Sons Transmissions Shop is definitely the best around! They repaired what I thought was a shot truck transmission, and a clutch repair. I have a number of vehicles, and needless to say Larry & Sons is the only transmission shop that I'll go to for my transmission repair!

I had problems with the transmission on my Honda Civic to the point where it was barely drivable and needed repairs quickly. I??m new to the area so turned to the internet to locate a shop and found Larry and Sons. I spoke with the owner, Corey, who offered to drive me home after I dropped off my car at his shop, very helpful as I had no other way to get home at the time. He called me first thing the next morning and told me the repair was minor and would only cost $100 or so. The repair was done in only a couple hours and Cory actually picked me and took me to his shop to pick up the car.

First time customer and the owner went way out of his way to help me, gave me a fair estimate and repair where many shops would have charged thousands to pop in a new transmission. I highly recommend this shop, far and above the best experience I??ve had with any vehicle repairs.

I met Corey of C & R transmission about 3 years ago before he took over Larry and Sons transmission on Foster Rd. I have 5 vehicles and Corey and his crew are the best. He has always been honest to a fault and they do terrific work.
I have 2 Corvettes, a Camaro, a Chev 4x4 and a company van. He's worked on and maintained all of them and I wouldn't take them anywhere else for trans service. I was an ASE certified mechanic for many years and can attest that these guys know their stuff and will give the straight scoop.

As far back as I can recall, we have used Larry & Sons Transmission shop to rebuild and service our transmissions. They have always been honest and professional while providing excellent service. Recently we took our funeral hearse in for a shifting and leaking issues. Expecting a $3000 bill, we were pleasantly surprised three days later to have our vehicle back, shifting great for a 1/3 of the estimate. I talked with Cory (who I learned had taken over the shop from Larry) about what was done. Instead of rebuilding everything, his technician was able to replace and adjust only those parts that needed attention. The end result is a vehicle that drives as good as new for much less money than expected.

We just want to thank everyone at Larry & Sons for their honesty and expertise. And thank you Cory for continuing to hold up the high standards Larry established many years ago.

I took a 1972 Ford F250 with a leaking transmission there for a reseal and inquired on a rebuild and was told if it was in good working order a re-seal would do. When I went to pick it up, Ted Messer (the manager) placed a paper in front of me and asked me to sign it releasing him from warranty because the transmission was "junk". I asked why he didn't call me and he said he spoke to the other person at my number and they declined a rebuild....(It is my personal cell phone and only I answer it??). Hum??.........I went to work and the next day came back and talked to Cory (the new owner of Larry and Sons Transmission) and he apologized and reduced my $509.00 bill to $350 (to re-seal a junk transmission that I wanted fixed??). I informed him I was pissed and had been lied to by Ted. He said he would rebuild the transmission for $1600 dollars instead of $1900-$2000 like Ted quoted if I would pay part of the re-seal bill. (Say what??) I said I would pay him the $350 and picket in front of Larry and Son's every day I had off and tell everyone of his fraudulent company and definitely would be getting my money back. He met me on the sidewalk as I was coming back with money and said he would just put "No Charge" on the bill and that he did not want me in front picketing...... Be very aware of his business practices as Larry would be very disappointed and would have never run this business this way. I feel it is my responsibility to inform everyone of his business practices. I am a business owner that is very disappointed that Larry and Sons has built a reputation for YEARS on honest business practices and this is how it will ultimately end. Another dishonest company that cannot fullfill warranties because they will be out of business before two years.............

My 2002 Toyota Rav4 transmission was slipping and shifting hard so we took it in to these jokers for a diagnostic check and bid. I went there because we knew Larry back 20+ years ago. We later found out he is no longer there. It took them 3 days to determine the transmission needed to be rebuilt and they had already started to work on it and the estimate was $2300-$2800 to repair. I did not give authorization to begin work but because it was torn apart and in progress, my options were limited (and at that time I still thought I was dealing with reputable people). They said they could have it done in 2-3 days. I was unable to reach them (no answer to phone calls) for 4 days. When they called they said they had the wrong parts and torch converter (2+ different times) and when we reminded them of their 2-3 day estimate, they offered to reimburse our rental car expense at $25 per day for 3-5 days. One week later they called to say the bill was over $3800 and car wasn't ready. Their estimate was $2300-2800. When I disagreed with that amount, they brought it down to $2865. Within an hour they called back to say the car was ready. I picked up the car 8 days after dropping it off and the transmission slipped and shifted just as it did when we took it in to Larry & Son Transmissions. When I called to report the problem, they said they couldn't look at it until Monday (3 days away). The technician I talked to said to go ahead and drive it like that over the weekend. I asked what if the transmission goes out completely? The tech said "If it blows it blows, it's under our 2 yr warrantee. But you have to bring it here, no where else." Their "warrantee" is one of those 3rd party deals like the one's people try to sell you with refrigerators and TVs. I believe that when I held them to their estimate, they just put the transmission back together and gave it back to me and charged me $2865. They gave no rental car reimbursement. It's not fixed. I am convinced they are not the skilled technicians they say they are. They scammed me for $2865.I would not recommend this company to anyone. Stay clear of the place. DS Portland, OR
