Do not take your dogs here!! It is filthy and smells. It is obvious they don't pay any attention to your dogs even though you pay for these playtimes daily. Our dogs were a mess (both physically and emotionally) when we picked them up.

Today I spent the day at Bend Pet Resort. I played with other dogs all afternoon. I had a huge play area with big bucketsnof cold water. I can't wait until my next visit to Bend to spend the day at the Bend Pet Resort!

The first time we boarded our two dogs with BPR, we were quite satisfied. However, this most recent time, our dogs came back a complete wreck. We've worked so hard to leash train them so they won't pull, but for weeks after we picked them up from BPR, they acted like they' d never even seen a leash before. They both began soiling the house, despite never having had an accident before. One of our dogs contracted kennel cough even though all the dogs staying at BPR are supposed to be vaccinated against it (and our dog was). \n\nI really don't know what to think. I was very happy with BPR the first time we left our dogs in their care, but after this last experience and after reading some of the reviews (especially the one written by an ex-employee who said the dogs often do not actually receive their supervised playtimes and walks even though the owners pay for them), I'm not sure I want to trust them with my dogs anymore.

On background,, I have a very nice show quality samoyed female that I bring to this kennel. I have made several trips to Bend specifically to take advantage of the expert care at this Kennel. My girl has stayed well over a week at a time and over weekends. \n\nAfter consultation with my breeder and discussions with several handlers I decided this was the place to bring to bring my show samoyed. From personal experience this has proved to be a good decision. I have never been disappointed. The owner is very knowledgeable, takes great care of my show girl and is a supremely good handler. I have watched with a close eye how all the pets under his care receive equally good care. I appreciate what I see. In addition, the grooming here is amazing and I have a breed that requires a lot of it.\n\n I personally went to Nationals and observed the owner show and watched the owner handle with the best of this breed and he is one of the best in a very demanding and competitive setting. \n\nI have found that the customer service here is honest and direct and a good value. I want to thank everyone at Bend Pet Resort for providing a really nice place for me to bring my favorite show girl, for the good service and terrific care. \n\nClarence

This place was highly recommended by a friend, and I've used them probably 4 times in the last 3 years. After the 2nd or 3rd visit, I noticed a healing wound on one of my dogs legs that wasn't brought to my attention when I picked him up. Either they didn't know about it (then why am I paying them?) or they did know and didn't tell me. I chalked it up to my dog being active and maybe they just missed it-- it wasn't a major injury. But then, the last time, when I picked my dogs up, one had urinated on her bedding so it had to be washed (to their credit, they washed it), but that NEVER happens. Ever. That dog would explode before she would urinate inside, unless she had absolutely no choice. What that tells me is that she was left inside far, far too long. But even worse was one of my other dogs, who had a very obvious (could not be missed) puncture wound on the top of his head. They told me they cleaned it with iodine (they specifically said "the red stuff"), which I know wasn't true, because there was no red stain on his skin, not to mention that it subsequently got infected and I spent the next several days after I got back draining green pus from the abscess on the dog's head. They also told me that they tried to call after the injury but my phone was turned off (I was flying). So why didn't they leave a message or call my emergency contact? Isn't that what the emergency contact is for?

The explanation for the injury was that two of my dogs were placed in a kennel next to two really "riled up" dogs, and those dogs got MY dogs "riled up", apparently leading to a fight. I have had the injured dog for 10 years, the uninjured one for 5, and they are best buds. I can't imagine the stress going on in that kennel for them to get into it. And why are my dogs being placed next to aggressive dogs? Why am I paying the same rates (more, actually, when you factor in the extras for playtime, medication, etc.) for my dogs having to deal with the crappy, aggressive dogs as someone else's dogs who are not being stressed or put at risk?

Bottom line is, my dogs came back with injuries two different times, one time I wasn't told about at all, the other I only found out about when I went to pick them up. I recognize that no kennel is going to love and spoil my dogs the same way they are treated at home, but at bare minimum I should at least be able to go to sleep when I'm traveling knowing my dogs are safe. After these two events, I no longer trust that's the case with this kennel, so my dogs will be boarded elsewhere from now on.

I always take my two dogs to Bend Pet Resort; they LOVE it there. The service has always been excellent.\r\nI rarely write reviews, but I felt I had to; especially since they washed my big lab the last day he was there even tho I didn't ask :-)

Pros: Always feel my dogs have fun there, and are well taken care

Cons: A little pricy (the extra activities), but worth it

We were going to the coast for a few days and Bend Pet Resort (BPR) was recommended to me by a friend as I needed to house my dog for 3 days. I was told my elderly dog-aggressive Dobie-Mix dog would be walked, played with, etc. They NEVER TOOK HIM OUT OF THE CAGE! When I picked him up HIS TOENAILS WERE TORN OFF and the PADS OF HIS PAWS WERE RIPPED TO SHREDS from his trying to get out of & through the chain-link fenced cage.

We had been excited to board our dogs at the Bend Pet Resort when we went to visit family in Bend for the 4th of July weekend; however, we ended up cancelling our trip to Bend. We notified the owners 2.5 weeks in advance. \r\n\r\nOriginally it sounded like we would get a partial refund (we paid by check). We later were told that there would be a $25 charge per dog to cancel with the balance being left on account. If we had charged it, we would have been able to dispute the charge (lesson learned). Their website has no posted cancelation policy.\r\n\r\nI tried to explain my disappointment to the owner in an email. I said that I would feel obligated to post a review and tell my friends and family in Bend to avoid using the Bend Pet Resort. Ken accused me of ""threatening"" his company, and informed me that he didn't even have to give me a credit for future visits.\r\n\r\nI don't mind the cancelation fee that much. I just don't see how keeping the rest of the money with almost 3 weeks notice is justified. As a business, it is important to know what is import. I guess money is the main thing for Ken. \r\n\r\nWe wish now that we had read all of the reviews available online for the Bend Pet Resort.

The groomer at bpr has been grooming for over 10 years and is very knowledgable even when you don't know what kind of cut you dog needs. She was great, my westie, and shihtzu mix both loved her instantly. this was the fort time they ever loved being at the groomers. They looked better then they ever have and they are 6 plus years old. They liked the grooming so much I checked into bording for my last trip out of town they stayed in a suiet in the office area witch had a t.v. and nice bed they had a great time and were groomed again when we picked them up. The girls love BPR so much and I love the staff I can't imagine leaveing them any where else. I will never have them groomed any where else. They look like new dogs.

I did not enjoy the people who were working the front desk, not very good at their customer service. Seemed a bit lack luster. \nThe facilities seemed like they could be cleaner. I wasn't sure if my dog got a lot of attention like the pet resort claims. They seemed a little understaffed. \n

I would like to know how the "owner's new wife" knows that the ex wife and her husband are leaving the negative reviews. If I were the ex wife and husband I would ask to see the proof before "the new wife" gets sued for slander.

By far the best facility I have ever been to. The facility is BEAUTIFUL... The staff is attentive and really knows the dogs, my shy dog went right up to them and doesnt usually do that. I have been there twice now and they are wonderful. The owners new wife explained to us that the ex-wife and her husband are the ones bashing them on the internet using different names. That is rude, but I will tell you that my dog loved it and I will be back again for sure.

We won't ever use this kennel again. The owner, Ken, has very poor people skills (and his dog skills are likely worse). Their pricing is very misleading. Your pup also won't get the attention it should or let out as often as it should. Our dog, who is normally happy-go-lucky, acted scared when we picked her up. Not a good experience. I advise to stay away.

I am from out of town and was searching for a boarding option for my dog. I ran across these reviews for this establishment on google. \r\nI can say this, it is a very defensive argument and that leads me to not want to board my dog at this location. The reviews are verging on bashing but seem like they contain some element of truth. Perhaps as owners, one should stop spending time reviewing yourselves, and take care of your business.\r\n\r\n\r\n

This resort claims it's luxurious and fully interactive when in all truth the owner is just trying to make a fast buck. Don't board your pets at Bend Pet Resort if you care about the health of your pet. They get far less attention than the owner promises. The conditions are not always clean. Quantity of paying customers over the quality of service provided. \nSmaller better in home care options are available. Kindred Spirits or Happy tails.

This is the second time we've boarded our dog w/ Bend Pet Resort... our first experience was fine. Good enough for us to consider them again 2 years later when we vacationed again in Bend. But this time I got slapped w/ a $20 fee for not canceling a reservation I'd supposedly made 2 years ago! (I don't recall making this reservation... we only get to Bend twice a year as it is and I don't know why I would have been there twice in one month... they never called to follow up at the time... and they never sent me a bill.) So... this last time instead of the $60 bill I was expecting I'm charged $85 with no itemized explanation. I had to call back and was told I'd signed for it and was SOL. Then... I'd specifically requested the red dot be removed from my dogs account as she is not an aggresive dog. I'd made this request over the phone and in person yet it never got changed. I pick up my dog only to find she's been in isolation for the last 3 days! NOT WHAT I PAID FOR! The whole point was to provide her with a change of scenery and the opportunity to socialize with other dogs. If I'd known she would have been locked up by herself I would have left her at home with the neighbor for free. Not only am I unhappy with their poor business practices, unclear rules, lack of internal communication and a website that lacks a lot of information, but I stewed over it all weekend in essence ruining my vacation. I will not be back and don't recommend them to anyone.

I would not recommend that you leave your pet overnight here! My dog recently stayed at the Bend Pet Resort for a few days and came home a completely different dog! Upon picking him up, the owner ran ahead of me to let my dog out...not allowing me to see the pen that he has been staying in. Probably because my potty trained dog made some accidents. Possibly because they lock up the kennel for 13 hours with out allowing the dogs to go out for potty breaks? Not many humans can do that, let alone dogs!My dog came home a submissive, unhappy and banged up dog. I am EXTREMELY unhappy with the way they treated my dog and hope that if you care for your pet at all....find somewhere else to take them!

I recently picked up my dog from a short 4 day stay at the Bend Pet Resort. I noticed that my dog got very submissive when the owner approaced him. In fact, the owner ran ahead to let him out of his pen before I could see where he has been staying...seems like theres something to hide! My dog came back a COMPLETELY different dog! He won't eat unless he's hand fed (he used to eat like a mad man!), every time I approach him, he cowers like I'm going to hurt him. I've NEVER raised a hand to my dog before. He urinated inside his crate because he's still so scared. He came home with cuts above his eyes and all over his snout! I never received a phone call from them telling me that there were any issues. I found it out the hard way!\r\nStay away from this place....you don't want to learn the hard way either!!!!\r\n\r\nOne last thing that you should know....they lock up all the dogs for 13 hours at night without supervision or potty breaks! How many humans can go that long, let alone a dog?!?! \r\nThis place is terrible.

\r\nThis place is terrible.

.

I have boarded my corgi at Bend Pet Resort since he was a puppy (7 years). He LOVES BPR. In fact, as we begin winding the drive up their driveway, he goes nuts! He whines, jumps back and forth, and tries to get in my lap so that he can jump out the door when I open it. One time I actually let him do this, and he jumped out the door, ran through the front door of the BPR office, and went straight through the swinging door that enters the kennel area, and so long! No ""goodbye mom"", no fear. He LOVES that place. I think he would choose to live there over living with me!\r\n\r\nI highly recommend BPR to any dog owner in Bend. They have a terrific staff that knows and loves dogs. Their facilities are heated and indoor. They have a large play are outside that the dogs love. It is a great place.
