We took a "staycation" at the Silver Cloud Inn for our recent anniversary and had a fantastic time. The flatscreen tv was awesome and the hot tub was relaxing and much better than our tub at home. It was in a great location and close enough to 23rd to walk.

As I looked at my reviews of Portland hotels, I was surprised to realize it ws the Silver Cloud that I felt best about. The location is good, the parking was free, the room was good sized and it was comfortable though not fancy. The staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly; and this is the place I would recommend if you need to be close to Downtown Portland.

I was very excited about the group rate that Rebecca in sales was able to offer the out-of-town guests attending my wedding. Not many of them were coming, and a lot of them were unconfirmed, but she was able to make a flexible arrangement that encouraged my guests to book in the best part of town for walking to excellent restaurants, shops, and entertainment. My guests were impressed with the service, luxuriously spacious king rooms, and quality of front desk restaurant recommendations. I was delighted by Rebecca's consistently professionalism and the front desk staff's complete support of my dropping welcome baskets off to be placed in my guests' rooms. I would recommend the Silver Cloud as a classy, affordable place for wedding guests to stay, and my Dad will book with them on his next trip to visit me.
Pros: Customer Service, King Rooms, Group Rates
Cons: None
I could not believe how nice this hotel was for how little I paid! I travel quite a bit and I've never come across a nicer hotel staff! Especially Barbara, their Front Desk Manager; talk about Southern Charm! It's a lovely little neighborhood and I HIGHLY recommend this lovely little hotel.
Pros: Free Parking, Great Breakfast, Complimentary DSL
Cons: , Limited Shuttle
My parents stayed here while visiting Portland and loved it. The rooms are pretty average, but clean. It is close to one of the hippest areas in town, so you can walk to many things or hop on the streetcar. You also have free breakfast with home made waffles and coffe and many varieties of tea available at all times. There is also a wine night. They only paid $79 a night for staying a week. They had excellent service and a great time. Would recommend to cost-concience out-of-town guests.
Pros: Great location, Great value, service, Free breakfast
Cons: By a busy street
