I was a member of this facility from 2000-2007. During this time I made regular and extensive use of the weight room (free weights) and lap swimming pool (& sauna). It was great, but got progressively more crowded since its grand opening in 2000.

My only real complaint is the swimming pool is a bit heavy on the chlorine. In 2006 this facility converted its pool to a new saltwater format. However, dispite widespread member misperceptions, there is still plenty of chlorine in the water, certainly more than enough to oxidize (bleach) your swim trunks in a couple of months. It even turned me into a blonde (hopefully not a "dumb" blond).

Crowds are a problem in the late afternoon after school lets out and especially around 5:00 PM when the office workers head to the gymn. This is true elsewhere, as well. The surrounding area in Beaverton and Tigard has built-up considerably in the last 10 years, so the density (of population) is higher and traffic very congested, at times.

Beaverton and Tigard, Oregon are still largely bedroom communities for downtown Portland professional class office workers. There are a great many apartments and condos in the surrounding area, adding to density. In fact, there may be more residents living in multi-family dwellings than single family homes these days.

This all works to the advantage of 24 HOUR Fitness because of fairly high membership turnover ("burn"). This is because I observed high turnover of both 24 Hour Fitness employees and members over a five year period. Just watch the pictures on the wall change over every so often.

this is definatly the best deal in town. obviously its not as nice as club sport but your comparing $28 per month vs. $100. they have a large varity of equipment, everyday time i go im using different machines. ive gone anywhere from 11am to 8 pm, seven days a week and its always been busy. there has never once been a day where i could get on every piece of equipment i wanted to in the order i wanted to without waiting. but as long as your willing to substitue one machine for another its doable. there are alot of creepy people there as well.

Pros: equipment, price

Cons: way to busy all the time, creepy members.

If you like overcrowded gym/meatmarkets and pushy salespeople this is the place for you. People talking on there phones and hanging out but not willing to let you work in on the equipment. I am tired of trainers who don't seem to have a clue what they are doing coming over to try to get me to buy into their supplements and training. I signed up for some training sessions when I first joined and have had less pressure to buy put on me at car lots on 82nd ave. I am going to Club Sport they have to be better than this.

PROS: Big, nice equipment if you ould ever get on it.
CONS: overcrowded, high pressure sales,

I joined at this gym a couple of years ago...and even though I now frequent other 24-hour gyms more often, I do enjoy the new facility, good equipment. It can get pretty crowded during peak times and sometimes I don't like to work out in such an open environment, but I do get a good workout when I go here.

PROS: Good selection of equipment
CONS: peak times can be VERY crowded!

I would love this gym if I could get a machine without having to arm wrestle meatheads for first dibs. The facilities are excellent and pretty good pickup basketball can be played almost every night, but it really feels like a fashion show at times. Many teenage girls frequent this location, dolled up and ready to mingle. In some respects, this seems to be more of a social avenue than an athletic club. On top of this, there are only a few times during the week when it is not overcrowded. After sounding off about these aspects, I will go on to say that it has a wide variety of machines and free weights, a great pool/sauna area, and spacious locker rooms and shower areas. I am a member because of its convenient hours and multitude of locations.

PROS: facilities, hours, locations
CONS: overcrowded, "dolled up" guests
