Hard to find. Stairs in disrepair. Surprised someone hasn't fallen and hurt themselves. Shop smells like cats and not in a good way. Crowded and strange selection of yarns. By the way - you can't handle the Addi needles -- they are all behind the counter. Owner is a strange little man who was nasty and made me feel very uncomfortable. He reminded me of the troll under the bridge in children's stories. Very condescending. Did not make me want to spend my money there. Go down the block to Tangled Web where there are nice people, nice selection and no weird smells in the store. I was worried any yarn I bought there would continue to smell.

Also - not accessible of you have a physical disability - narrow steps with a creaky screen door -- no ramps. Very crowded.

Some of the yarns seemed overpriced when compared with prices at other shops.

I have been a knitter for God knows how long. I have never known of such a great yarn shop tucked away in Philadelphia!!! I was so excited when I came by for a visit. Both Dawn and Jim have been so helpful when I needed their expertise. Their yarn selection is unlike any that I have come across in my 15+ years of knitting! I highly reccomend that you visit! They have been around since the 1970's and REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

I do not understand how this yarn store stays in business. The store is cramped and unorganized, the service is unfriendly and the inventory is just crap. Don't waste your time.

Horrible shop. Over priced yarn, expensive classes taught in a very small area. Instructors are not competent to teach. I would venture to other stores in the area instead. Try Tangled Web or Lamb's Wool or Garden of Yarn. Limited parking. If you are allergic to cats, stay home.

Pros: Can't think of any

Cons: limited work space for classes.

The folks over at the Knit With seem to know exactly what's missing in the Philadelphia knitting scene. They seem to be the only ones who carry Swallow Caesin needles, and the more exotic, harder to find yarn brands. They're very helpful, and always eager to chat about your latest project!

PROS: friendly, helpful, well stocked, amazing customer service
CONS: tiny, cramped
