Oh, what a disappointment. My bowl of soup was served in a styrofoam bowl with a plastic spoon, but it tasted okay. My Pastrami sandwich was terrible...It tasted like a cross between pre-sliced/pre-packaged supermarket meat and pre-packaged supermarket pork roll. One sparkling wit in my party suggested that it was that new "plastic-meat".
Every plate and utensil is disposable. The salads were served in plastic vessels that resembled supermarket bakery cake covers. The forks and knives were the low grade plastic variety, the kind you buy in the dollar store. The salad dressing is even served up in large quart sized industrial plastic squeeze bottles. The sandwiches were served on Styrofoam plates?.drinks in plastic cups too, of course. Did I mention plastic?
Al Gore could make a sizeable dent in the global warming problem by converting Yonnys to eco-friendly reusable restaurant grade tableware. This is the absolute worst restaurant that I've been to in the last 10 years. They have an old-school mentality here. The service was adequate. I think that the staff is clueless as to just how bad this place is.
As I write this with my visit fresh in my mind, the two people in my party that ordered sandwiches are feeling ill. If we dug up and revived Gene Sickle he would likely give Yonnys a double thumbs-down.
