Simply terrific. A beer selection that is tough to beat, and some genuine gourmet food selections that you would not expect to see in a small place. Terrific staff and ownership.

If there is a table available outside, snag it - aside from being quieter and not being elbow to elbow with your neighbor, it's a great location for people watching. All the food I've ever ordered is tasty, and the portions are large. The selection of beer on tap is not large, although there are a number of bottled beers from around the world. Prices are reasonable.

This is a great little corner bar with great bar food! It can be a little crowded and loud when they broadcast sporting events. If you can get a seat on the sidewalk, it's a great place for Sunday brunch or a Saturday afternoon snack.

The collar is a good place to go during the downtimes of the day. this way youre guarenteed a seat at the bar or outside. my girlfriend and i thoroughly enjoy the nachos, in fact they are the best in the area! i only wish they had better happy hour specials.

Pros: nachos and selection of beer other than coors light!

Cons: tiny bathrooms, lack of bar stools

This bar feels like a water hole for over aged frat boys. I went with my girlfriend the one time and felt like we were being really harassed by these group of men who saw us exchanging hello kisses. Seriously? You're still doing that in your mid 30's? Grow up. The only reason why I would come to this place is to get some food to go, but even lately that has deterred me because the service has been so bad and slow. I feel like I constantly get overlooked when I'm waiting for a table and when I finally get a table, it just takes forever to order food or wait for it to come out. I've been here about 3 times and only 1 out of those 3 times had I've had a positive experience.

The people that go there are lacking in quality and character. The food is poor - rather eat at a hoagie shop. Save your time and energy, don't bother with the place.

The Collar is a cozy pub, mostly filled with regulars from the neighborhood, but also has great energy, especially during a game. Good beer, good food & good jukebox.

I went to Bishop's Collar for the first time last Tuesday night with some friends after a volleyball game. Since we had a big group, some of us stood outside to wait for an outside table and some of us sat at the bar. We all had drinks already, and about half of us ordered food at the bar and told the bartender we were going to eat outside. Two tables opened up and we pushed them together to fit the 14 or so people in our party. A waitress came by and said she'd have to see if anyone else was waiting for a table, since we'd pushed the two tables together (even though they'd just called our name to sit down). She came back and with some attitude said she "guessed" we could sit there. A different waitress came by to take our orders and when some of us said we'd already ordered the food at the bar, she looked very angry and annoyed at us. She said "well I guess that's fine, but we don't share tips between myself and the bartender." Our food came out and was fine, nothing special. A bit later someone knocked over my beer while the waitress was standing there, and she didn't offer to give me either napkins or a refill of my beer-- I had to ask her (it seemed to me like an obvious thing for a waitress to do). Also, me and my friends noticed that she didn't smile at us once, or if someone said "thank you"- she would not say "you're welcome" back.
Perhaps the waitstaff was just having an off night, but I know I will not be returning to Bishop's Collar after that horrible customer service.

Okay, not everybody will know your name, but it'll still feel like home. Exactly as described, this "non-pretentious" bar in the art museum neighborhood will keep you coming back. The people are nice, the bartenders are fantastic, and you can't beat a drink on the sidewalk in the summer. The "pub fare" is some of the best I've had with creative vegetarian choices as well as tasty others and everything including the drinks is reasonably priced. I keep trying other bars in the neighborhood, but "the Collar" continues bar none as my favorite!

The salad at bishop's collar is a summertime favorite meal for me. It's only about 4 dollars too!
Their crab cake is great but a little spicy. The tacos are huge and cheap as well.
while the food is great and cheap, it's a little hard to hear in the restaurant during peak hours. You may want to try to snag a seat outside.

PROS: great, cheap food
CONS: loud!

This is a friendly bar with great staff and a great, non-pretentious-yet-still-professional bar. Being new to the city, it's great to find such a warm place where you can meet so many people.

Pros: Patrons, Staff, Decent-priced drinks

Cons: Juke Box

The "Collar" is a comfortable place to hang out.
The drinks are reasonably priced, including a draft special every day.
We especially like to hang out on Tuesday nights after Volleyball (as do some Softball teams as well).
The Jukebox is great, although you sometimes can't hear it because of the crowd noise.
Also for awhile they had some great bands there for FREE! I hope they start that again soon.
Keep up the good work.
