Having symptoms of a heart attack my physician sent me to Jeanes ER because he is affiliated there and he would get the results that day. After arriving at the ER at 12:30 pm I was promptly given a blood pressure check and than sent to another area for an EKG and than to another area for insurance and PAYMENT info. All good you say, NOT. From that point I sat in the ER waiting room for 6 hours without once ever seeing a real physician or anyone even letting me know about the EKG results. I had 3 blood pressure checks as policy at that institution is to check patients pressure every 2 hrs. of waiting time in the waiting room. Well when the time came for the 4th BP check I was so upset I told them this is unacceptable as my primary physician sent me here so he could get the results that day but as it was 6:30 pm, by this 4th BP check, his office was closed and I did not want or think I should have to sit in the waiting room for another GOD only how many more hours before I was seen by an actual physician. I really think I would rather die than go to Jeanes HA HA hosp. again. And believe me I was not the only patient there who expressed their feelings about the wait time.

Let's put it this way, If I were shot in the face across the street from Jeane's ER, I'd rather die there in the road than deal with the AWFUL staff they have employed there. I entered the ER today being the ONLY person their. i had severe abdominal pain that leFt me clenching and crying in pain. I told the nurse that I couldn't even eat the pain was so intense and even gave her my 9 out of 10 pain rating. After about an hour of being there, another 10-15 people show up and still NO ONE IS BEING CALLED BACK. I questioned about my wait time and I was told that the people that called ambulances and PAID MORE MONEY BY DOING SO, get treated first regardless of why they are there. Then the nurse that took my info started to argue with me when I asked her to leave me alone. She persisted to get out of her seat and come over to me and argue, I explained to her that when a patient is in severe pain that she shouldn't be making it worse by pretty much attacking me, and she didn't care. The head nurser came out and finally told me I was next. About 10 minutes later, the woman who came in and was processed AFTER ME with a pain rating of 8 and her symptoms being "sweaty palms" gets called in. Of course I don't understand this and when I question the nurse she said it was because the woman "probably got there first" I told her that was not true and she said oh well and when I got upset, she told me I'd be sitting there ALL DAY. REALLY?????? I don't know how many times those nurses had to get on theirs knees or bend over to earn their "degree", but this is NOT how a hospital should be run. Needless to say, I left the ER, went home, curled into a ball and cried my eyes out until I fell asleep.

JEANES HOSPITAL CARES ABOUT $$$$$$$$$$$ NOT ABOUT THE WELLBEING OF THE PATIENTS THAT VISIT THEM.

I think they got the same er docs from years ago. If you get out alive like the other person said consider yourself lucky. If you get staff in hospital who care, you hit the jackpot, if you get someone who speaks English, your even

Back in Feb.23 of 1966 I was in collage in Phila. . My wife, was pregnet with our first child, We were from out of town and did not know the area. It was snowing very hard, the wife started into labor, Somehow I found the hospital. After driving around in the snow for what seamed like several houres. At that time Jeans was a private hospital. Thay were not going to let us in, We were not 21 or did we have any insurance, not to metion we were not members. But thay did, the baby was coming out of my wife sideways, thay took her right away, to the ER. MY daughter was born, about two month premature, weighting less then two lbs..
spending almost 6 months in an isolate before being releaced. I GIVE THE HIGHTEST RANKING POSSIBLE CAN . MY DAUGHTER NAME IS JENNIFER, AND THAY SAVED HER LIFE THAT NIGHT.
MY NAME IN WILLIAM SHEAFFER AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT THIS.

Cons: none

Well Nazarath may be worse, but Jeans is horrible. Doctors send you home in worse condition then when you started out. They overcharge, they are known by insurance companies to excessively charge patients just to keep their heads above water. Don't send your loved ones here. Be lucky to walk away with your life!

Pros: You don't have to wait long in the ER

Cons: But you will receive the worst service of your life

jeanes is a small hospital. i had all 3 of my babies there. it was a good experience but it is small and you may have to share a room. depending on how many babies are born while youre there. they could have a better housecleaning staff, but the nurses make up for it.

PROS: great nursing staff
CONS: could be a bit cleaner

My husband had his surgery here and we were very happy! Love the staff in the Short Procedure unit. So nice, caring and funny. They took the edge off the seriousness of the surgery. Took very good care of, not only my husband, but of me also. Easy access from many roads. They do need additional parking.

PROS: Great Staff, Friendly, Caring.
