Upon our arrival everything appeared to be perfect. The wafting aroma of an active kitchen and the friendly reception welcomed us like old friends. We were seated immediately in a nice location and from here everything went downhill faster

My husband and I recently went to Cascata Caffe for our anniversary dinner. It was our first time there and it came highly recommended by our friends. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious! I had the grilled salmon and my husband had a veal dish (They were both specials, they have so many!) The portions were great; we were so full by the end of the meal that we had to take dessert to go! Our waitress was all very knowledgeable and nice. I would recommened this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dinner!

In refrence to the previous review, anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant will know that oil will be reused and bread is turned into croutons or bread crumbs. This is why I cook at home and rarely eat out.
On the occasion that we ate at Cascata, we found the food to be generous in portion and just average in taste, as if more food makes it better. The prices were high for the quality of the meal; I guess we were paying for the quantity. It took forever to get the main course. The servers apologised for the length of time it took for the meal to arrive and they were polite. We could hear the owner yelling loudly often throughout our experince. It reminded me of a Gordon Ramsy episode. I can only imagine what was going on in the kitchen. I hope the kitchen was cleaner than those episodes but after the previous review, I imagine it was not.
With pleanty of great restaurants around, I do not think we will be revisiting this one after our experience and the show the owner put on. You get more with honey than vinegar, doesn't he know that.

Pros: Servers are very welcoming

The foulest restaurant! At this restaurant the overwhelming issue is cost. To keep costs low the restaurant actually re-uses all seasoned oil that is put on the tables for dipping in bread. They then bring it back out to other people who are eating the saliva morsels from the previous persons oil dish. YUCK! The hygeine standards of those preparing the food is beyond suspect as well. Also all the bread that is on each table and touched and picked at by guests that is not used will be later turned into crutons for the salad. Thats disgusting! The service at the restaurant is good but is limited to the extremely slow execution of the food. Most of the steaks recently are a brown and not a red color before they are cooked leaving me to wonder about the quality and freshness of the food all-over. Also while tipping on credit cards the server will only receive 90% of what you sign off on. The restaurant actually pockets the other 10%. Slimy!

We had reservations for eight for 7 p.m. on a Saturday night, as we were all reconvening at another spot at 8:30, or at least we hoped to.

The last of the party arrived about 7:10. Our orders weren't taken until 7:30 p.m. The salads and bread arrived promptly, but we didn't get our main courses until 8:45 p.m. We began interrogating our waiter about 8:20 about our order and he promised, several times in fact, that it would be "out in a few minutes."

When we finally got our food, it was all right, but nothing special. As for value, the meat and fish entrees, salad included, were in the $22-$25 range.

The waiter's apologies were minimal. He offered a sort of "sorry about that" response that you'd expect to get when, say, a fork or knife is missing from your place setting.

The final indignity was the 18 percent gratuity that was added to the bill, no doubt because there were eight in our party. We paid it without protest, mainly because we wanted to get out of there to our function. Still, I was reminded of the young couple in Bethlehem a few months before who refused to pay the mandatory gratuity and were cited by police, who themselves said the case against them wouldn't stand.

Pros: It was crowded, so obviously some people liked it

Cons: Don't count me among them, though

We had a problem but they fixed it.

We had an anniversary arranged, and we had asked for just a few things and they came up short. We needed a certain amount of highchairs and a small table for a cake and presents, and we were told when we arrived that they had the highchairs being used already. There was no cake table, as well. We had called to tell them we were running a few minutes late, they said that was fine, BUT the table had to be vacated for another party by a specific time. we agreed to do so, and have our cake at home, but they agreed to serve the cake. When the bill arrived, they were short with us. We were figuring out the bill, when the waitress informed us the other party was there, and more or less, to hurry up. SO I would not recommend this establishment for a large gathering.

I have gone to Cascata Caffe several times with my wife and with larger groups. The portions are a great size, and the taste is just unbeatable. My waiter was so freindly and able to answer any questions I had. They have a large number a specials every night that are described to you in complete detail at your table. My wife and I have recomened this little quiet Italian Caffe to all of my friends. I also must admit they also have a wonderful pizza just 4 stores done at Casacata Gourmet Pizza.
