Our Chihuahua, Queenie, loves Brickyard Kennels. She pulls on her leash and I can barely keep up with her when she runs up the walkway to the kennel! Weve boarded our dog for 6 years and are so pleased to place her with such loving, knowledgeable and concerned staff.

I want to start by writing that we used this same kennel just under 2 years ago, it was our first experience with utilizing a kennel and for the most part, when we picked our dog up, he was happy to see us and the transaction was fine. \r
We set up a second stay for this past Thanksgiving holiday. We asked about hours for drop off & pickup and made sure we had up to date paperwork. When we dropped off our dog, with our food and some toys, the owner immediately commented that we feed our dog ""junk food"". I tried to ignore the comment and continue with the drop off, to which he then said ""you know this food is all just junk food, it's just corn in one end and out the other"". I asked what he recommended. He said something with beef. I asked for a brand recommendation and he said ""just read the ingredients"". While he may thought he was trying to be helpful.....his condescending attitude and lack of giving me an alternative, put my daughter and I off. We then spoke to the time we were going to pick him up after our trip home and left. I want to comment our dog just had a checkup the week before and the vet said he was at a great weight and very healthy. \r
After 3 days we returned to pick up our dog (we dropped him off on11-23 at 3:30 pm and picked him up on 11-26 at 2:45 pm), we were given a bill for 5 days and 4 playtimes (extra charge of $ 3.00 per day) and the attendant walked away before I could say anything. I looked over the bill and waited for them to return. When the door to the kennel was opened, so that they could retrieve our dog, it sounded like at least 20 dogs all barking at once. They brought our dog out and he was crying nonstop....I was hoping it was because he was so happy to see us. I noticed immediately he smelled terribly. I asked about the bill and the lady I was working with said ""oh yes"" that is wrong. Jerry had walked in and also looked at the bill and said it should be 4 days. I asked why as our dog was only there technically less than 3 days and he said.....it's like the RED ROOF INN....you have to pay if you come after a certain hour. (still not sure why I was charged for 4 playtimes, unless the times of day are really inconsistent). \r
I paid for the 4 days, so that I could leave and get our dog home to bathe him. To say I was very frustrated that this is the type of care (not sure why he smelled so bad) and business practice this kennel feels is acceptable, would be putting it mildly. \r
I find it sad to say that you are comparing your place to the Red Roof Inn......I will certainly look for a Marriott next time.

If your pets are like family, bring them here!\r

Jerry and Laurel care for my dogs since I found their place in 1999! The landscaped grounds and dog friendly activity area are great for people and pets. Being away from any major roads means it's a quiet place - like a little bit of country in the fast growing suburbs of Cranberry/Mars. Would not think of taking/boarding my dogs anywhere else.

I have been boarding at Brickyard for nearly five years since moving to Mars. They are some of the most caring people I have met. When you board two 150 pound dogs that are like family you want the best. That's what I get from Brickyard.

Dear Lord in heaven. If there was a kennel that needed to be shut down a burned to the ground it would be Brickyard Kennels. Having talked to former employees and finding out that you pay for play time that you do not get. The owner pockets that money and goes down the road to Uncle Bobs and drinks it away. They stack crates on crates. So when your pet goes to the bathroom it goes on top another pets head. They sedated those poor helpless animals I just know it. The owner says nice things to you, and then starves your pet. Its the dirtiest place on earth the dirt road leading up to their place is cleaner than inside. The smell is beyond words. The only time they clean is when they know they are going to get inspected. So many people in Mars and surrounding areas have had just so many terrible things to say. HOW on earth are they still in business? I made the misfortune in taking my pet there not knowing that this most likely was happening to my baby. I only found out when I was asked one day by my friend, who used to work there, where I take my pet. Thats when my eyes opened up and I learned just how horrible they truly are... If there is any justice in this world that place should be shut down and turned into a parking lot.

Pros: They have no pros only cons

Cons: The owner that guy would put his own mother in a crate
