I want to let you know something about your comment regarding the "20 somethings right of of beauty school". Before you are so quick to judge all 20 somethings ouit of beauty school, I will let you know that most of my BEST stylists I have hired are from school and even younger than 20. I have seen some botched color and cuts by people in the industry 20 plus years in their 40's and 50's. So, before you put all those 20 somethings in the mix, do your math and homework before you judge all stylists.

I travel extensively to large cities and have been to hundreds of salons, including some of the finest in the world. I did not expect much from this small town in PA but but Shakti stood up to the best of them. I went in just to get my haircut and was so impressed by how I was taken care of, I made several appointments over the 2 weeks I was in PA. I traveled 30 mins. each direction and it was well worth it. Margie did my color and I can't tell you how amazing it was. I asked my stylist in New York to call her and get instructions on what she did. The Staff was very professional, beautiful interior design and the pricing was 1/4 - 1/2 of what I usually pay. I can always tell when I'm in a "real" salon. Many of the Staff have been there for more than 15 years instead of the usual 20 something "kids" just out of beauty school. I'll admit, I am not the "average" person, I am used to getting the best and Shakti did not disappoint. I've sent 4 people there in the last month from our company branch in PA and they loved it. We're thinking of having a visit to Shakti as one of our employee incentives.

Shakti is a hair salon that is located in Kingston. I know many people who go here. While some are very satisfied, I know a few who are disappointed. I know someone who went here for highlights and she claims that her hair had a greenish tint to it. So she said she wouldnt go back, but once again she did go back, and once again, she was unhappy. The prices can be more expensive at this salon.
