This company was called in for an emergency water remediation job in Chester County by a tenant staying in a rental property. The work was absolutely horrible - there were nails, dirt, tackboard, debris, and wood left all about the room.

I never received an invoice from Duraclean until 15 months later when I received a phone call that they are looking for payment. At which point they threatened me with legal action unless I paid within 7 days. This is after ZERO prior notice or invoice.

Upon attempting to establish what happened between this business and my tenant, one of the owners of the business "Sandy" informed me that the conversation was over - either I was paying it or I will see her in court. She hung up on me.

Probably one of the worst businesses I've ever dealt with. Stay away at all costs.

When our sewage backup we called a plummer. They immediated brought in Duraclean. The Duraclean men did a good job but thats about where it ended. They said that they would submit the information to our insurance and we just had to pay the $500.00 deductiable. We never received a bill or a call so we assumed all was well with the claim. Two years later we get a estimate (not even labeled as an invoice) with an amount of almost 4,000.00 saying our insurance refused payment and we would be turned over to collection if money was not received in 7 days. Good thing the insurance refused payment because the bill was way out of wack. The square footage was wrong, the number of blowers and humidifies was wrong and the $500.00 deductible never was deducted. After 2 years, we lost total leverage because we had switched our homeowner policy. When we called the office, the personnel had no records of specific of when they sent the claim, to whom they sent the claim, why the claim was denied, if they spoke to anyone or any other information. When asked why after 2 years we never received a call or letter they could not answer. I feel that when service companies think that insurance companies are paying the bill they totally inflate the bill. No wonder our insurance is so high.... Call to get a copy of the bill to verify its accuracy.

Our experience is a lesson in checking out a company thoroughly...we did not and should have. The house was very dirty, sooty, overall horrible. We had to get it ready to sell (we did not live in it). The salesman was so nice, gave us a $2,000 range of cost on the estimate( depending on how much time) and said they could start the next week. During the week we checked on it and progress was slow and no one there during the day. One day, the house was left unlocked, we previously had vandalism and expressed concern. We found a buyer, the cleaning was not finished, we said stop. Lets settle here, the new owner does not want any more done. The basic soot removal of walls, hardwood floor, ceiling was complete. Bathrooms done. No carpets cleaned yet, the kitchen had been only a light gone over, still bad. Windows washed but const. stickers left ON. Sliding glass door only washed on the top half, the lower half had clean rundown lines and all the dirt remaining. They were already over the high end of the estimate and had not completed the job. We asked to know how many hours were in the job so far. Would not say. It appears they SUB OUT the work to someone else, they do not perform the work. They had NO idea when the workers had been there. We finally settled for the amt that was the lower number of the 2,000 range on the estimate....for a job that was maybe 60% done. We went back and did the kitchen over ourselves, the cabinet fronts were barely touched, overrange microwave cleaned in and face, and underneath filthy, never took out vent filters. Never pulled out free standing range and cleaned sides. We discussed with Duraclean cleaning the face of the fireplace (brick) and what to use on it....later they said that they didnt intend to clean the brick. What good is smoke and soot removal if you dont clean the brick on the fireplace? They did remove the ashes and they threw them outside the garage door where people walk. Arggh! At the end they offered to go back and do more but new owner does not want them, a reasonable price was what we wanted...at the very last he offered to come and clean our own home---why would we do that? Get an estimate in writing FIRM, no matter who you use. Talk to friends and do not just go out of the yellow pages. Those are the lessons we have learned from this.

I had stayed in this aprtment for a very long time and with the kids around ,the carpets looked like a disaster, when it was time for us to move out, i just called in these people and they did a great job steam washing it .It was worth for the money we payed, else these renters would have fined us more then the actual cost of the carpet cleaning

PROS: good work for the money
CONS:
