I've been a fan of Chau's since she worked at International Salon. She opened this salon 13 years ago and has never disappointed me. I have never had a problem with the cleanliness. In fact, Chau showed me how they clean the drains of the pedicure chairs since that where things can get dicey. Like every other salon run by the Vietnamese, you have to get used to their chatter, but hey, it's cheap and fast, and can you really blame them, they have to work on our hands and feet! I wouldn't want to make a living like that.

Pros: In buisness for 13 years

Cons: The only one I can think of is the language barrier

I have been getting my nails done at either Chau's shop on 19th or her other shop, Chestnut Nails on the 20xx block for over five years. This is not a high end day spa but the staff is efficient. Chau and her employees are all Vietnamese and some do not speak English well but I have rarely had trouble communicating my requests to them. Chau remodeled the shop and there is no longer a back room where one of the pedicure stations used to be. Chestnut Nail has a waxing room, however they use doctor's paper and not a sheet so it's not glamorous. Her staff does eyebrows for $7 and a refill on acrylic nails costs $15, and $30 with a pedicure. You can expect to be in and out in an hour as a walk-in. Another perk is that she is open until 7p and on Saturday.

Nails by Chau is a small little store that offers manicures and pedicures. Since they are a small, local buisness, they are very cheap and their employees are very fun and nice. It's especially important to have helpful, talkative employees for this kind of store because there is a lot of sitting and waiting. Usually, the store isn't crowded, so, you can easily walk in without an appointment and only have to wait a few minutes before getting your manicure which is a major plus. The whole procedure from first walking in to leaving is very short, and you will leave happy and satisfied. A great fun little store! Anyways, the overall product is really nice, employees are great, and the price is terrific.

Nails by Chau is a great place to go for inexpensive manicures and pedicures. The price is great $25 for a mani and a pedi. They also have great massage chairs to sit in while you're geting a pedicure. They have a nice selection of polishes and do a great job.

I went in for a pedicure and was taken to back room with an abundance of supplies all over the place and open containers of food. It was difficult to explain to the woman who gave me the pedicure exactly what I wanted. a five year old could have done a better job. Not to mention, that two days later my pedicure started to chip.
