I recently had an interview with one of Croyle's associate by the name of Alexa, a woman who released one bare-faced lie after the next where I suspect she was actually inclined to believe in that well-rehearsed hogwash! I first responded to Alexa when she found my resume on Monster.com encouraging me to come in over the phone that there were employment opportunities in downtown Pittsburgh. I live in East Liberty and so naturally working in town would be ideal. So I decided to go, ignoring a strong instinct to stay away from Croyle & Associates where its reputation for gathering qualified candidates only to not call them back preceded itself. But letting optimism get the best of me, I went to the interview. She began a barrage of unprofessional and uncomfortable questions, that had no relevancy to the position or my qualifications, i.e. education and experiences, such-as: "...why did you go to Brazil?," or "Employers like to know about your Seminarian experience," etc. I explained to her without wanting to sound contentious, that her questions runs contrary to the protocol inherent in the Age Discrimination Act. But she persisted in asking private questions claiming that employers have a right to know. Say What!!! Fast forwarding, once the interview was over, having lost a half day's wages in that cramped office space, she perkily said, adding insult to injury: "we have openings only in Cannonsburg and Robinson Township--nothing downtown." AM I to believe all of Pittsburgh's 140 buildings are occupied, though Croyle & Associates website continues to advertise for positions in the very heart of downtown? Am I to blinding believe that employers are more apt to hearing the exploits of my private life whether than acquiesce my professional reputation and educational achievements? Methinks Croyle, by its bevy of eye-candy is looking for young faces with suave bodies and clueless of critical thinking as their ideal candidates. Sorry to bust the bubble but seasoned workers bring more to the table--often board tables--than youthful inexperience and contrived stories. Would I recommend them? Do you want to hear expletives spoken in German.

I tried to be placed at a job with J. Croyle recently and the experience was less than desirable. Everyone at J. Croyle is super nice and friendly, but they don't listen. I went in to interview for one position, which my recruiter said she would go over with me. I said almost immediately I'm not looking for a call center job as I find them overwhelming and stressful, but she started talking about a call center in Canonsburg and I NEVER heard about the original job again. I wasn't presented any other positions after she fixated on the call center. I went on their website and found a list of "open opportunities" and emailed my recruiter asking about them. She stated many of the jobs listed on their website weren't available. She sent me to one additional interview. I drove over an hour to get there and they talked to me for less than 5 minutes. After I finally caved and decided to try the call center, I never heard from my recruiter again. Anytime I call she's not available and I'm pushed off on someone else. I left that job after a week because the company was *AWFUL* and was told my recruiter would call me that day,and I never heard from them again.

Working with J Croyle is an unpleasant experience. They call you, and then place you on hold several times during the call. The positions they describe do not match up to what the employer says in the interview. They have TERRIBLE judgement at assessing your skills and interests to the positions they offer. Don't waste your time, don't rely on them to conduct your job search!!

Do not waste your time. You will get more accomplished if you just spend your time on Monster Jobs. This was the second time I tried J Croyle-and I will NEVER go back or recommend. They call you on the phone after responding to their ad and tell you your resume looks awesome and there are tons of positions available. But when you get there, they don't even talk about them. When I got there, they were asking me questions like what does my sister and parents do for a living (what does this have to do with me getting a job?) They don't follow up with you or anything..at least the other temp/employment agencies I went called and said they are still trying. They are not very friendly either..Just stay away!!! I gave it one star because there was no 1/2 star.

Their biggest clients seem to be call-center type jobs. The people are nice at first, but don't listen. For example, I told my recruiter that I would prefer not to talk on the phone all day. Well, I ended up at a call center making much less than what I had requested. I did not receive an increase in my wage once I was hired, as was promised by my recruiter. Once you get placed, the recruiters are rude on the telephone and treat you like a noone.

I am reading the reviews others have left regarding the services offered by J. Croyle & Associates, Inc. I have to disagree with what is stated. I also responded to an ad in the paper for several positions that were open. The Recruiter that assisted me was great. She was very straight forward and honest about what she had available. They did inform me of their process and how they match my skills and qualifications to what their clients are looking for. If I am lacking in certain areas that companies are looking for I might have less of a chance than others. I was so glad they were honest. They were able to find me a job within a week of me registering with them, and it was in the range that was in the ad they placed in the paper. I absolutely recommend their services to others. They are very professional and answered all of my questions I had.

The staff and recruiters are VERY nice, but I was only called for a few jobs very far from my home (the recruiter needed a map or zip code directory!) at salary ranges lower than what I wanted. I received no calls for a 4 month period. The newspaper ads continued to say $32,000+ jobs available in or near Pittsburgh, but none were offered to me, a secretary w/ 21 years experience.

Eleanore D.I wanted to thank you for your review of J. Croyle. I have an interview with them today at 3:00 and I was just hoping to find their website and I found your review instead. Their office is over 30 miles from my home so you just saved me time and gas money. Thank you for your honesty!!

This is one of those agencies that charge you money to get you a job. I have been on several POINTLESS interviews from this company and I know I just wasted my time and gas money. It is almost like they have the person picked that they want to hire before you get there. The recruiters are very NICE that work there but you very seldom get a call for work and it turn into a job. I have been registered with them for over a year now and have only gotten 2 interviews. I call and talk to the job recruiter and she is always nice and upbeat but as I said before, it is a waste of time. Maybe they can work for you, but they did not work for me.
