The Carnegie is respected the world over as a leading art museum. The permanent collection is certainly impressive enough, and the architecture and sculpture centers are great diversions from painting after painting. But the real pinnacle of the Carnegie is the International exhibition held every few years. Always impressively curated, it serves as a snapshot of contemporary art. The International features paintings as well as video and interactive exhibits. Many of the names shown in the International go on to become leading names of their time. Edward Hopper, John Singer Sargent, and Willem deKooning all got their start in International exhibits.

I have visited this museum two times in two years. The xhibition at that time can be checked form mesum web site. it has a very rare paintings and a huge collections of items which you will enjoy. you can get a discount , if you are from a university. It is just on forbes ave, so acceessing the museum is not a problem although parking is a very difficult problem during day time.
