I called the night before to reserve a table for six. I asked if it was required and the man was so rude with his response. We showed up and found that they were out of lasagna and eggplant parm. We found out after ordering drinks at the top of our lungs because it was so loud in there. The waitress was mad that we could not order anything else. We got up and left. I will never go back. Also, get a real parking lot!

Any time I ask my husband where he wants to go for dinner, he says "Lombardi's". It is noisy, and it can be crowded -- not a place you want to go for intimate conversations and a romantic atmosphere. However, the food is very good and the prices are resonable. I also feel very comfortable there, like I'm putting on a favorite old pair of jeans. We've gone with a large group (took my daughter & future SIL there for their engagement dinner, with extended family) -- had a great time & were treated very very well. Usually, however, there are just 2 or 4 of us.

Great eggplant Parm, nicely sized portions of all entrees. Nothing fancy, but certainly a step above a red gravy joint. As a matter of fact, I just called for a reservation for tonight.

I see that some reviewers have complained about poor service. That hasn't been my experience.

Cons: very noisy; crowded

My husband and I had dinner a few nights ago. We showed up without reservations and were greeted with a friendly, welcoming attitude.

We had the calamari . . . . best we've ever had and we've been to many Italian restuarants! I had the Penne Arabiatta and my husband had the Veal Saltimbucca with Shrimp. Both were fantastic!

We had fantastic service from our waitress, Jen. She was very friendly and engaging.

We love this restaurant. The service and food are great and the prices are reasonable.

We recommend Cafe Lombardi's highly!

Food is great. Absolutely delicious. Prices very reasonable. The waitresses are nasty and need an attitude adjustment but I still go quite often...I just reflect it in my tip. Parking's not great either. It's a small spot on a very crowded intersection.

Cafe Lombardi's is extremely good Italian food. The place is small and quaint but the food is bold with flavor. The food is very reasonable and it's BYOB which keeps the price down. Very good food for the price and family friendly, you can't go wrong with this place!

My mother and I checked this place out for lunch and it became an instant favorite. It has been around for a while and now I know why. The prices are really good and the taste is wonderful. It is a very laid back place and can be loud at times, but I rather enjoy it. I have gone for dinner on a few occasions and the vibe was the same. Very crowded on the weekends, I suggest a reservation. Don't forget to bring the wine!

This is one of my favorites for good basic Italian foods. The bread and olive oil is great. Try the Bruscheta. Can't beat the calamari. Not the fried breaded stuff, this calamari is in a rich tomato sauce with plenty of spices - tender! Penne Arabiata is fantastic. It is BYOB, it is not fancy and can be noisy like a local Italian restaurant is supposed to be. I can't imagine recommending a chain over this place.

It's a small place. The seating is family style and table are close together. So if you your looking for a quite, romantic dinner look elswhere. The food is very good and its byob.
The staff is courteous and the service was prompt.
I had Eggplant parm and salad. Best I've had.
My fellow diners seemed well pleased with their food as well.
In this down economy I am happy to report that 5 were able to eat for less than $100, Including appetizer, entre, desert.. OH yes the Canoly was tops too....

Well worth a try...

We ate here today. It was the most unsatisfying dining experience we've had in a long time and we go out to dinner once a week. The food is diner quality at best. We had 3 different items, 2 of them were considered specials. None were very good. The veal picante was bland and lacked flavor. The Tilapia special was just a piece of grilled fish thrown on top of 3 vegetables. Not even any pasta to go with it. Salads are a la carte.
Desserts were just ok. Coconut sorbet being the best of the 3 we sampled (tiramisu & cheesecake (extremely dry)).
The best part of dinner was the coffee! Sorry this is our second and last time at this place and the only reason we gave it a second try was because we had a gift certicate.

We recently went to Cafe Lombardi and thought the food was great. Friendly service, great food and excellent cappuccino all this and it's a BYOB! Plus they take reservations!

We had the chicken parm and no complaints. Excellent linguine with clams and seafood dishes. Very good Bruschetta and cool desserts!

Don't let the bad review fool you - this place is great! Yeah, it's loud but it's an Italian place not French Bistro. If you want to get together with friends and laugh and have a great time, drink some wine over great Italian food and still have $$ left in your wallet when you leave .... then this is your place!!

We went for dinner on a Tuesday night before the rush. Hostess was miserable and was put out that she had to seat us. Service continued down the same road. Tables are too close together and atmosphiere is Loud. Food was very good. It's a shame none of the service personal have anything near and acceptable attitude. We had a gift certificate and used all but about 7 dollars of it. We were told we could not use Certificate for the tip. After dinner hostess with same rude attitude writes us a new certificate for the 7 dollars. We were told no pizza at dinner.

I won't be back

Atmosphere is very bad, too loud, tables too close together and covered in flannelbacked vinyl.

The service was appalling - we were not asked if we wanted more water, bread, or how our appetizer was. Our server did not introduce herself. They sat us near the kitchen (which was fine) but out of all the waitresses working only one continually banged the back of my chair each time she came out (her name is Jen). When i asked if that was necessary i was told it was and she proceeded to bang it harder. So we asked to be moved, and we were moved but we weren't given the first available table and they expected us to move all our drinks and cutlery.

The menu is very deceptive - in that it bills a la carte items as an Entree....
My Entree was Chicken Marsala for 13.95 - This consisted of 1 chicken breast cut in 3 piece and pounded paper thin. An extra to this was a piece of chicken bone i discovered when i found something go crunch.
In my mind an Entree consists of a Meat and a side or two but here these things all must be ordered seperately, unless you order chicken/veal parm. (This is not spelled out on the menu).
Additonally the prices on the web are not the prices in house.

An item that was disappointing was Chicken parm, I'm glad i didn't order it, it tasted deep fried.
Another item that was surprisingly good was Rigatoni with lump crab. The same people who were so cheap with the chicken were generous with the crab.
The sauces were good but a little oily.
When we asked for our pasta al dente we were told that it couldn't be done as all the pasta is cooked ahead of time.

Doesn't all that make you want to rush there?
I have a feeling the new Ristorante opening up the road will take a lot of their business.

If not may i recommend instead of this nightmare:

Macaroni Grill Montgomeryville or Willow Grove- A chain but - a quality chain.
Boccelli's in Lower Gwynedd
La Vita E Bella Ristorante, Maple Glen
Ristorante Castello, North Wales

Pros: There are none

Cons: Service, Food, Prices

This restaurant is by far my favorite in town. Their food is fabulous and inexpensive plus its a byob. Most people bring wine but you can wheel in your cooler if you want! The waitstaff is very friendly and there is rarely a wait.

Cafe Lombardi's is one of a kind, outside of inner-city Philadelphia. Truly an ethnic Italian experience! Menu has low-cost selections, all the way up to the most authentic creations I have ever tasted! Also, bring in your own wine. They'll gladly open your bottle.

Cafe Lombardi's has some of the best Italian food you will find in Montgomery county. Lombardi's is located on the corner of Horsham and Dresher Road. It is very small and the tables are packed together so if you value privacy, you will need to go during the off hours. The food there is very good. All the Italian specialties, plus sandwiches and specialty pizzas which are delicious. The owner is always out and about making sure that you are satisfied with your meal. This is a BYOB, so if you want a glass of wine, you need to bring your own bottle. Prices are very reasonable for the food you get here, averaging $10 to $12 for most dinner entrees.

PROS: Great food
CONS: Very crowded during peak hours

My husband and I discovered this place a few years ago. This is a family owned and run cute little BYOB Italian restaurant. We loved the food so much we went several times a week. Currently, we are living out of state but will be back shortly. The first place we are going to eat at is Cafe Lombardi's! I really miss the food. My favorite is the Rigatoni Primavera. The cream sauce is phenomenal. My husband loves the Seafood Pescatori. The atmosphere is quaint and the staff are the best! Highly recommended.
