I've been going here for more than 10 years. I've been bringing my kids here during that time as well. Elizabetta is GREAT! Always gives me a professional cut and will LISTEN to me even when I insisted on having a perm (yuk! big mistake, but she did warn me.....).
Alice is AWESOME. My kids have loved her since their first hair cuts. My oldest is now 17 and still insists on going to her.
Give it a try. You won't regret it!!!

The first time I sat in Darlene's chair I knew she was a keeper. I am very particular about my hair and she not only fixed others mistakes but made me feel much more confident when leaving the salon.

About two weeks ago I headed in for a trim and first time highlights. Since I had virgin hair I was very nervous about change. She made me feel very comfortable and knew instantly the right direction to take. Two weeks later and I still get compliments! I love it and refuse to go to any other stylist.. she is experienced, sociable and very good at knowing what works best for the client. I recommend her highly amoung my friends!

Just an overall unfriendly atmosphere. it's hard to explain. I didn't feel comfortable at all. Receptionist doesn't even smile when you walk up to the counter. Person who cut my hair spoke only when she had to... not that I want someone overly chatty, but i just felt uncomfortable. there's tons of hair salons in the area. I'll keep searching

Alice is the only stylist who has EVER been able to give me a great cut. She understands how to cut hair so that it falls right without a lot of fuss. I'll never let anyone else touch my hair- love it!! She is also amazing with color!

All the great reviews about Sabrina are correct-- I asked for her when I made my appointment, and she did a great job! I was looking to cut my long hair short, but had some concerns; she immediately knew what I was talking about and discussed the tools and process she was going to use in order to have it lie the way I like. I recommend her especially if you are younger and want a cut that's cute and modern (I'm 22, so I didn't want a "soccer mom" bob or something!).

About the salon, it's trendy and unique. The people all seem to be friends, so there's a lot of chatter, but it was relaxed and I felt like I could participate in the conversation. I'll definitely be going back to this salon in the future!

Just ask for darlene- She is the best in the business. She is also the Curl Expert and will cut your hair so it will curl naturally for you!!
She will also show you how to style it and help you maintain your look- not only with tools but with products that will work for you!!! She is the best!!!- VM

I have worked on the Penn campus for many years, and have gone to the Saturn Club pretty consistently. I have been through a slew of their stylists and never really blown away, until about 2 years ago when I tried Sabrina. She is absolutely amazing. She listens to what you want, and also makes good suggestions if you want something new or different. She takes her time and is very experienced. Every time I have had highlights they have come out perfectly, same with her cuts. I wouldn't say it's "cheap", but it's very reasonable. $40 for a cut and either $90 or $120 for highlights depending on if you go half or full head. She is also really nice and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Sabrina if you want your hair to look great, and if you want to enjoy the experience!!

Alice is apparently great with curly hair, but I have thin straight as a rod hair and she always gives me a good cut. I've been going to her for over a year and mostly she just knows what she is doing so I can just give her an idea of what I want and then it comes out great! Sometimes immediately after the cut she styles it kind of weird but then I tweak it when I get home and its awesome. At $40 a cut its a great deal! She does amazing semipermanent color and always knows whats going to look best with my hair. She can be a little busy, but today i called to squeeze myself in for a pre-wedding cut and she totally accomodated me. Very nice lady and always tells me fun gossip- years of experience really pay off as she does a great job 100% of the time.

Sabrina is extremely creative. She has great ideas and offfers great suggestions. I was reluctant to have my hair highlighted but she convinced me to have them done and I feel great about my hair and get tons of compliments. She is also really personable and makes you feel very comfortable. I would highly recomend Sabrina

I've been going to Alice for about 5 years. I'm constantly getting complimented on the color of my hair and nobody realizes that I get it highlighted until I tell them. It looks so natural. She puts great layers into my hair and makes me look great. Alice is also very friendly. She'll listen to what you want and work with you for a great look.

I have been going to Liz for over a year now and she always does a superb job! I regularly get highlights, trims and Keratin straightening treatments. She really listens to her customers and asks questions to ensure that any treatment, cut or style is right for them. The Keratin treatment is amazing; it totally relaxes my very curly hair but does not use chemicals so my hair is super healthy and soft. Liz is the only one I have found that can do it properly.

I just have to respond to this earlier review. I have been going to Elisabetta for a couple of years now, and she by far is the best hairdresser I have had. After my first cut with her, I felt so good that I wrote her a thank-you note. She has a wonderful eye for what will look right, and she executes her haircuts flawlessly. On top of that, she is an absolutely lovely person.

First of all, I cant give Saturn Club the worst rating because there are other stylists I've been to that know how to do hair. Going to Elisabetha, I have had by far the worst experience. She did my hair in 10 minutes and didnt listen as I only wanted a trim and she cut my hair WAY TOO SHORT. I recommend that you see one of their other stylists as advised in some of the previous reviews. Cheap and quick, certainly does NOT equal quality. Go see someone else there.

i wandered into the saturn clubs coffee shop one day and was offered a free five minute massage. i decided to take saturn up on its offer. keanne did my five minute massage in te coffee shop, and it was incredile. i booked an hour massage with her. they have a room up on the second floor with a full table. this was an even better experience. keanne has alot of strength and was able to relieve alot of the pain i was feeling. i highly reccommend the saturn club, and especially keanne. also, the prices are very reasonable! it is about a dollar a minute, and they often offer you a free five minute chair massage.

I recently started school at Penn and have been looking for a new place to get my waxing done.I oneday wandered into the Saturn Club and they fit me in with Mila. She did my bikini wax for me and I was very pleased! She made me feel very comfortable! She also did my eyebrows. Now I am usually very particular on who touches my brows, but after a little convincing she assured me that they would look great. And she was RIGHT! I loved the shape of my brows, and will always go back to Mila for all my waxing needs. I highly recommend her, especially for bikini waxes and brows.She also does manis and pedis, facials, and full body waxing!

I just got my haircut by Darlene at The Saturn Club on Sansom. She did an AMAZING job! She was very professional and really knew how to cater to my individual needs. I have found my new favorite salon in Philly; I'm definitely going back to see Darlene again!

I work at Penn, and have gone to the Saturn Club for many years. I just recently heard that Liz no longer works there. I had her cut my hair a few times, and was not very impressed. Although everyone in the salon was very accomodating and nice, I found Liz extremly rude. When i had an appointment with her to do my color, i figured that she would apply it. But NO, her assistant applied it! I was not impress with her at all.. she was constantly in a rush, and paid no attention to what I asked for. Stick with the Saturn Club!!

i used this site to find alice...who did a great job giving me a new look...everything everyone said about her is true. she does a great job at a good price.

If you want a great haircut , single process color, or highlights for a reasonable price go to Sabrina. She has a welcomming personality and is very personable. She has alot of experience, working at the Saturn Club for almost 20 years! Sabrina is the best!

I recently called Saturn to make an appointment with Liz and they told me she is no longer at Saturn. I was really disappointed and I asked for her new location. BUT THEY REFUSED. But I did my own research and found her in Old City at Tabu Salon & Spa. We all know how great she is, so no worry I found her. Give her a call at 215-413-3000. I know I will.

I have hair on the longer side, it is really wavy to curly, and I'm a natural blonde but have my hair dyed 2 brunette shades (light top, dark bottom). First, I have a hard time trusting people, but I was told Alice is the best with color. She suggests suttle changes that really affect a look and she suggests what type of color treatment to use. This is just the tip of her haircare knowledge. Then she goes on to the cut. Just recently I went in to have my hair colored and cut, when it came time to the cut, I litererally picked up a magazine and said, that's cool....let's try that! She said, it won't look just like that, but let's do it. She gave me the same style but made it look amazing just for me! I was so impressed that I could just whimsically ask her to do a style and she jumped right on it and made it look awesome! THEN Alice goes on to stlye your hair, which I just love!

So in summary of service, Alice is amazing with color, cut and styling! Many upscale salons shift you around to their "color specialist" then someone else etc., but not at Saturn Club! Also, I can't tell you how nice it is to have people tell me how nice my hair looks! I mean....my boyfriend ALWAYS notices!

Second, the staff there is incredibly friendly! Everyone says hello, everyone talks to you and so on. In terms of Alice, she always has something to say, asks how you are, and remembers things from your previous visit with her. I just love that because it makes me feel more comfortable having her cut my hair because if she can remember my personal life, she can certainly remember how I like my hair done.

Last, the Saturn Club is great because they can get you in fast for an appointment (even color) and their prices are very! reasonable. I have 2 colors in my hair, cut, and style all for only $80 and I made my appointment 2 days in advance! At this place I feel comfortable and know I'm getting an upscale cut for fast and great prices! Never left dissatisfied or in a bad mood!

I've been having Lisa cut and color my hair for about 2 years now. She is very friendly and I've never been dissatisfied with any cut or color she's given me. I've been to some of the other stylists here and found that they weren't personable and didn't really listen to what I wanted done with my hair. Lisa takes the time to do it right and makes sure you get the cut and color you want. Plus, she takes notes about what she does to your hair. For example, she always writes the color down so that the next time I come in for a color, we aren't wasting time trying to decide which color I used last time! She also remembers the cut/style she gives you so that on your return visits, if you just want a trim, you don't walk away with a hack-job.

I have never left Saturn Club with a bad haircut or the feeling of regret. Alice is the only stylist that I'll let cut my hair. She alway makes sure that you're involved in the process and happy.

I had the most amazing theraputic massage at the Saturn Club from Keanne! I was experiencing alot of back pain, but after Keanne worked on me I felt so much better. She was very attenative to me and to the areas that i told her were giving me the most pain. On top of a great massage, she made me feel very welcomed and comfortable I highly recommend the Saturn Club for massages, and especially Keanne!!

I'm so excited, after years of trouble with my hair I finally visited Sabrina at the Saturn Club. She really made my hair drop dead gorgeous. She was so sweet in her questions about what I wanted (or dreamed about looking like) and she really listened. She defiantly is a really artist, I just wish I could have found her sooner! She could cut my hair no matter how mild or wild I wanted to look!!!

My neck pain was really bad Thursday, with one side of my neck and shoulder knotted up with tension, and it was all I could do to turn my head to watch for cars as I crossed the street.
I went into the coffee shop, and saw someone on a massage chair getting worked on. That was all I needed to see to sign myself up for ten minutes to see if she could work it out.
She did wonders for my neck and back- the pressure was deep and pace was slow so that I could let my shoulders drop and breathe deeper, and I could actually turn my head afterwards. I?m coming back for an hour on the table next time-price is right and she does awesome work!
