Beautiful. I wouldn't recommend going on a hot day though, it is a lot of walking. Other than that, there isn't anything wrong with this place. It's beautiful, relaxung, romantic. Absolutely love it.

I've been to Longwood Gardens from time to time throughout my life and always thought it was magnificent, but it really became irresistable to me over the past four years. I can't stop going. Always a feast for the eyes and senses. Oddly enough, I would avoid it during Christmas if you like tranquility. The gardens are a yuletide dream, but the Christmas visitors, as great as they are, overcrowd the place, disturb the peace, and litter too (argh). If you must go at Christmas, you'd better go early in the day or in mid January, after the huge Chrismas rush. But, after Christmas is the...Hold me back...Ungodly gorgeous Orchid Extravaganza!!!!! The best way, I think to enjoy Longwood is to find a spot and nestle and really, really take it in. The ticket is pricey, but the beauty is expansive. I buy an annual pass yearly, and go often even though it is a 50 minutes drive. Truly a most magnificant place.

Impressive gardens, very beautiful. The most striking thing to me was how massive and ornate the conservatory was and then the home was very simple in comparison. I think the conservatory was probably my favorite of the whole gardens, though it was a gorgeous gardens, and well worth your time. The fountains were being worked on when we were there so didn't get to see them. I thought the entrance price was good, also.

A very nice restaurant in the heart of Longwood Gardens. The prices are a little high but the food is good. There aren't a lot of options once you are past the ticket booth and in the gardens, fortunately the food and service make up for the lack of choices.

It's such an amazing garden than non-gardeners, men, women, children... everyone seems to enjoy it. It really is the only garden that I don't have to drag the men in my life to go and see. I visit several times a year, since so much changes seasonally - and it is worth a 3 hour drive. (Actually we just moved and now it is 1.5 hours away, but we used to commute over 3 hours to see it all of the time.) I can't recommend it enough!!

Cons: Food is not great

Longwood is absolutely beautiful! The new East Conservatory (which is now open, in response to the negative review) adds even more interest on cold or rainy days than before and there are 3 more conservatories soon to open including a Children's Garden. The floral displays are beautiful and on a very large scale. Spend two days if possible because there is so much to see. Also, be sure to check out the fountain displays which run daily. On summer evenings they are timed with lights and music, even fireworks several times throughout the summer. These are brilliant displays definitely worth watching. Definitely visit Longwood Gardens.

Longwood Gardens is a wonderful place to go. Every season brings some kind of special display. The mum display is beautiful in the fall. The winter display is gorgeous, and of course spring and summer are always full of specialties. Its a great place to bring visiting house guests during the holidays.

These are some of the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen. They are huge, and there are different sections with different themes. Longwood has different seasonal features. For example, during the Christmas season, the whole place is decorated in lights and has a special night-time Christmas celebration. I'd love to go back here sometime.

Longwood gardens is so well taken care of you will not even see a blade of grass out of place. Their flower beds change seasonally and they are extremely good at signage that helps visitors do the techniques and designs at home. A real highlight is the design garden and children's area. The Italian water gardens are a delight in the summer.

They had a little competition to see who can locate all the flowers on the card that was given to them.. Also, the water shows they had were amazing!! I would love to come here during the holidays to see it all decorated with christmas lights. Also, its an affordable place to take your family for a nice day trip. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, becasue their is a lot of walking .

I am not a green thumb by any means but I can certanly appreciate the work it takes to make the acres and acres of beautiful flowers and landscaping come alive (and stay that way!). I highly recommend a day trip here over the holidays, it's so beautiful you won't regert a minute of it.

A wonderful mix of history, science, trees, and horticulture. Hands down the best garden and arboretum I've ever been to and I've been to a lot. I have been to Longwood Gardens at least a dozen times and it's never the same place. They change displays and beds based on the seasons, holidays, and years. They have special presentations and the place is immaculate. A must visit if you like plants or just like history and outdoors. The cafe and restaurant have good food, if a little pricey.

Longwood gardens is a fixture along Route One near Kennett Square.

The gardens are fantastic and the seasonal displays are worth the trip. Yes, they are open all year long, and Winter/Xmas is amazing. As the seasons and blooms change, so does Longwood Gardens displays.

They have school trips here, so your kids may get out here before you do!

No matter when you go you will not be disappointed.

Longwood Gardens is a breathtaking arena of beautiful flowers all year long. I love going here around the holiday season (December). The setup is so enchanting. If you live in this area, or plan on visiting here, you need to stop into this place. It is so lovely here. They are opened all year long, offerring many different blooms throughout the year. They have different rates and it is a great educational trip. If you love flowers, then you must come here. You will love it!

Longwood Gardens is an amazing place- if you are an adult, that is. Do NOT try to bring kids here for a day trip! While there are some activities for them, they are at best short diversions. Adults will love the lushly landscaped grounds of the gardens, and it is very nice to smell the flowers in the spring. (This is also where local TV stations broadcast from on holidays.) Longwood Gardens provides us suburbanites a refuge from the din of our surroundings. That is what makes it a special place to visit every now and then. I remember that the admission charge was reasonable, and I did enjoy visiting. But, as can be expected, the gift shop was very overpriced.

During my recent visit in late January, 1/2 of the conservatory was closed for rennovation and the Terrace Restaurant was also closed for repair. Yet, Longwood gouged visitors the full admission price for just half the attractions. Why didn't they compensate for half of their facility being closed by also reducing their hefty admission price of $12?

Longwood garden is different everytime you visit it and it is hard to describe the place as it is composed of many mini-gardens that present various themes from season to season. Traveling to the place can be a major pain but the trip is definitely worth taking!

This is a tough category because the attractions are so diverse, I mean, sometimes you are in the mood to do some gamling amidst the lovely gaudiness of Atlantic City and other times you are in the mood to slow down a little bit, or stop altogether, and take time to smell the flowers. If you are in one of these moods, then there is no better place than Longwood Gardens, beautiful year round, with fountains in the summer and a gorgeous display of lights and seasonal decorations during the Christmas season. It would be a shame to live in this area and never visit Longwood.

Each season brings a different type of beauty to the sprawling park. The sparkling wonder of the gardens under freshly fallen snow never fails to enchant, nor does the awe of the garen in full spring bloom. It's a lovely place to spend a quiet day.
