My best haircuts ever 5 Star Rating - World class

I never really liked getting my hair cut--I mean it, I once grew my hair out down to my waist to avoid hair salons--until I started going to Ruth's. I love the atmosphere there, and Erin is such a perfect mixture of warmth and professionalism that I always feel comfortable and leave looking great. I couldn't recommend Ruth's more highly.

Pros: Ambience, service, skill

Comfortable, great cuts, color, makeup and recommendations! 5 Star Rating - World class

I've been going to Ruth Daneman's since Ruth was there. She left about 4 years ago, back to England. Erin and Tami took over and WOW!!! I love the atmosphere there. No gossip, negative talk or bad cuts, just comfort & great prices.
Tami is my girl and she's great! She really listens and THINKS about what to do with my hair. She's taken it from long to short and I ALWAYS get compliments on the cuts.
This past weekend I got some headshots taken. I booked to get my hair styled and makeup done. Brooke did my makeup and I was SO happy with the results. Very natural, not overdone at all. Brooke was gentle with the makeup application so I didn't feel like my eye was being pressed too hard, etc. Tami listened that I wanted to have two hair looks for the photo session and styled my hair so I could brush it out for a different look.
While I was there Tami was also working on a color job for another client. I have to say that the color wasn't what I'd ever have done myself but the result what the other client wanted, was stunning and beautifully done. Tami is a real artist when it comes to color!
Once I asked Erin and Tami who did great manicures and pedicures. They recommended Chris across the street (Sophicated Nails). They were correct, Chris is wonderful. Yesterday I meet a lady in the nail salon who was looking for a hair salon. I told her to go across the street to Ruth Daneman's! Just look for the hanging Shears Sign. I did say, "When you walk in, don't let their hair color or tatoos make you nervous. They won't press their style on you. They do GREAT hair and will give you what you want. They're very open and positive people."
I think Tami, Erin and Brooke can do no wrong! A close friend of mine loves the massages she gets there. If you think about it, you can have a "spa" day on Passyunk Ave. in a 20 yard area. Pedicure, & Manicure (across the street), Massage, Color, Cut, Style & Makeup at Ruth's with the Shear's Sign! GO!

Pros: Just the most positive experience, always!

Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool! 5 Star Rating - World class

Erin and Tami have the best recipe for creating happy customers -- an easy, fun atmosphere, great attitudes about life and hair, and skillful haircutting. I can come up with crazy ideas for my hair, and Tami can always execute them. Plus, the cuts have a shelf-life, growing in naturally and artfully, so that I don't have to get cuts all that often. I love it here!

Relocating is hard to do, going here is not 5 Star Rating - World class

After having tried a salon in Center City upon first moving here, I literally breathed a sigh of relief when I found Erin at Ruth's. The atmosphere is very relaxed, unlike the pretentious attitudes I received at the high end shop in CC. Erin asked lots of questions about my hair, its history and my daily routines, making the decision to chop off about seven inches of hair seem as easy as walking down the street. I think parting with your hairdresser is hard enough when you move, but finding one you like just as much in a new city feels like discovering some sort of buried treasure. The experience was amazing, right down to the mini neck massage I got while my hair was being washed! The compliments alone would definitely pay for a lifetime of haircuts, and at a fraction of the cost I paid for menial service in CC! You MUST try Ruth's!

Pros: Parking, Price, Atmosphere, Service, Local Art

A Fantastic Massage Experience! Regenerative and Healing! 5 Star Rating - World class

First off - who knew such a cute salon existed in South Philly? And the massage room in the back is a therapeutic oasis! Very charming. If you're looking for massage with a holistic approach, this is the spot!

I received an incredible full body massage from Erik at Ruth's on Saturday. Erik began the session by asking about me - what areas I'd like to focus on, injuries etc. He started me off with an Indian head/facial massage - it was incredible! You never realize how much tension you carry in your face until someone massages your ears and forehead. I have a couple soccer injuries and Eriks ability to pinpoint the aches and pains on my back was incredible. The experience was so regenerative and healing!

Afterwards, he ran through the techniques he used on me. Very communicative and knowledgeable. Thank you Erik! I will definitely return!

Pros: Erik! Great Massage! Chill, Welcoming Atmosphere! Good Location!
