my previous 3 times for my dogs were ok. no complaints. Called on Tues to schedule appt for Wed - my day off. Scheduled one dog for 10am. Received message after I left work that the girl had been looking at the wrong date & Wed. was afternoon, scheduled me for 1:30. I called next day to reschedule because had to take uncle to dr @ 1:30. Rescheduled for Fri @ 10 am. Explained start work at 3, would that be enough time. Yes, person replied, would take 2 - 2 1/2 hours tops. Arrived at 9:40 with my dog. Person took her downstairs & said would call me 15 min prior to completion. Again, I ask how long. 2 hours, 2.5 at most was reply. Hadn't heard from them by one, so called & left voice mail, message said busy & they would call back. Drove over at 1:30. Was informed dog was not ready, would be another 45 minutes minimum. This after I stood & waited at least 15 minutes for young girl to talk to truck driver as if I wasn't there. I interupted them finally & got the news. She said they were having bad day & running late, a bather didn't show up. Returned to talking to trucker. I interupted again & said that was not good, it was past 1:30, I had to start work at 3. takes half hour from my house to work & 20 minutes to Poochies. Would not work out. She checked with groomer to see if she could hurry up, groomer said no, 30 - 45 minutes. I informed girl I had no one else to pick up dog. She didn't respond. Went to car & called my boss (angel of supervisor) & advised her of my mess. She told me not to panic, come in late. Bless her. Went home (20 minutes) changed into work clothes and waited. Poochies called about 2:10 & said she's done. Drove 20 minutes over there (2:30 by then). girl went to get my dog, said sorry about being late. Needless to say, I was late for work. Now my dogs are very precious to me, but I don't not think a groomer running late is a good excuse to be late for work when dog should have been done by 12:30. I feel they should have called & stated would be late, I was there 20 minutes prior to appt. time and by 10am I'm sure they knew the bather wasn't coming. Should have been given option to reschedule. And cut is not that great, on her head appears she changed size of blade and top of head is chopped, has hair like mohawk in middle! I will not do business there again. The people don't know the date & schedule wrong, then don't make any offers to make the wrong right when they are running 2.5 hours late. She was not concerned that I would be late for work. I was ready to take the dog "as is" & groom her myself. I try to give business to the little guy, but PetSmart will get the next groom. If you decide to patronize poochies, better make sure you have all day to wait, because they don't warn you if behind, and they DO NOT return calls when you leave a message after recording states they are busy, please leave message.

Very friendly and accomodating staff. They keep a file and seem to know my dog and better yet, he knows them. He likes going there and gets excited. Of course he makes me pay once he gets home but I know he likes it. There are two parts of Poochies, the grooming salon and the boarding kennel. If you board you can also have your animal groomed before pick up. They do an excellent job on grooming. Our dog had to stay over a holiday and they had a party for the animals! They asked ahead of time incase of food allergies or needs. Very great staff.

I have taken my two dogs to Poochies since they have been pups. One is 10 and the other is 11 1/2. The groomers are very kind and skilled in dealing with all types of dog personalities and breeds. They will even give you a Report Card for your dog once he is finished being groomed as well as a complimentary bandana - seasonally appropriate!!! The shop is set up really cute and they have a doggie bakery at the checkout as well as sell other pet supplies. You can tell the instant you walk in the door that pets are catered to here. Prices are quite reasonable and considerably less than a lot of the chain pet stores.

PROS: Skilled Groomers who care about Pets
CONS: Can't think of one
