.

A few months ago I was contacted from ECA regarding a position and spoke to one of their recruiters over the phone. I had a brief screening/interview, and was told I would receive a phone call in a few days (regardless of their decision).

The follow up day came and passed, so I assumed I was not being pushed on for the position. I had general interest, so I followed up with an email, and even called the recruiter back. Needless to say, I never heard back. Curious to see how one can improve, I followed up with a call for the second time a couple weeks later... and nothing. That's 2 emails and 2 calls with no response.

I was appalled how they could not take a moment to respond to an email, or call. How hard is it to say "this one didn't work out, but we'll keep looking"...etc? Even if you're blowing smoke, it is at least good customer service.

This is a company that gets paid when someone is hired, so its important that they have a pipeline of qualified candidates to pick from when things open up, right? However, the way they acted in this situation has deterred me from ever using their services, regardless of what opens up.

I have dealt with a lot of other full-time recruiters like Robert Half, and the customer service is way better.

.Awful is the word that describes my brief interaction with ECA Recruiters. In applying for various positions, it is always a joy to get a call back from an company, though in this case that is where the pleasure ended. Howard called to speak to me more regarding a Sales Rep position, upon returning his call, I was informed he was on another call and would get back to me shortly. When he didn't call back in 5hrs I called Howard again to follow up in regards to position. Yet again he was conveniently on the phone and could talk. It has been a few days and I'm still waiting for him to get off of that other phone call. I guess he didn't like my voice ;0/
Regardless as a headhunter there is a better way to handle the situation. I hope that my resume doesn't go through ECA again, because is was truly a sub par experience.
