.

I have bought houses before. Everything went smoothly...until I bought a house through Century 21. It's not completely their fault, the previous owner did some dirty things but I do feel our realtor played a part in it and wasn't impartial when it came to backing us. After the final walk through the morning of closing there were a few things that needed to still be completed. The seller was having a few men from his construction company come while we were at closing to finish up and it was documented that these things would be completed. However after we took possession we found that the central air conditioning unit had been swapped for one that didn't work, the furnace was also swapped and shabby duct work was put in to cover it up, all of the curtain rods and fixtures were removed leaving holes in the walls, there were rats in the walls, the pond had a leak, both bathroom toilets were clogged (1 with a massive amount on tampons and the other with a candle), the diningroom carpeting was saturated in urine, all of the screens were shredded--- the list goes on. Mind you this is a 150k house in a nice neighborhood. We made several complaints to our realtor with nothing more than a reply form the seller denying everything. The realtor was (what I believe) assisting the seller in deceiving us by covering up existing problems and had full knowledge of the stripping down that was taking place while we were at closing. 21 point pledge??? They did nothing after the sell. Since I have no proof I could do nothing. Who thinks to write down serial numbers or that someone would ruin and stip down your home just a few hours after your walk through?
