Visited the Pineville on Friday night, 5/14 with a friend around 7PM. We were forced to valet park, even though there were plenty of open spots available. Even though we saw NUMEROUS empty tables when we approached and there was not a wait, we were told that we would not be seated for ten minutes. We sat at the bar and had a glass of wine before our table was ready. When I asked to have the bill transferred to the table, I was told they did not do this and I had to settle up prior to being seated. Whatever- stupid policy, but not a big deal.
After being seated at a postage stamp size table in the bar, we waited 15 minutes before Kim, our waitress came by. She did not introduce herself, but said gruffly ??Specials are on the board, do you know what you want??, we replied that we were not sure and she disappeared for another 15 minutes. I will not bore you with the details, but it got much worse from there. Waiting minimum of 10 minutes to get a glass of wine from the bar that was not even two feet away, never came to check on the dinners, never asked if we needed anything, etc.
The food was ok- buffalo eggrolls- over cooked, very greasy, salad- wilted lettuce and too much dressing, meat ravioli- over cooked, not enough sauce, and a dessert to go- was ok, a little old. We each had a bill of $35. I decided not to tip- the waitress really was not worth it, but my friend left $5 on her charge slip. To my surprise, when I was going over my accounts on Tuesday, I noticed that someone had ADDED A TIP! I called my friend to have her look at her charge slip and hers seemed to be correct. So I called the restaurant and spoke to a manager, John. I explained what had occurred and he put me on hold to investigate. He came back and said that the waitress must have switched our charge cards by accident. I asked him to double check this as my friend had already checked her slip and it was correct. He then said that perhaps the credit card company automatically charged my card a tip. I told him this did not make sense, how would they know to charge $5 as my friend did. He said he was not sure and would speak to the waitress and reverse my charge.
I hung up and called my friend back to see if I could make sense of this story. She looked online at her account and sure enough, she was charged. I called back to John and told him that this was theft and all of the stories he could come up with would not change it. He then looked the charge up on ??another system? and agreed that I was correct. I asked what he was going to do about this THEFT- BLATANT STEALING FROM THEIR WAITRESS, KIM, WHO ADDED A TIP TO MY BILL WHEN SHE KNEW I DID NOT GIVE HER ONE. He said he would investigate and get back to me. When I pressed him for a timeframe, he agreed he would get back to me by Friday.
We will see what happens????My advice, if you really want to go, either pay cash or check your charge online the next day to make sure you are not a victim too!

I used to love going there for the snapper soup. It is too much of a hassle now with the valet parking which is very dangerous anyway because the cars are stopped on the street. It doesnt need valet parking anyway it isnt a 5 star restaurant. Also if they are going to serve rice it should be homemade not salty uncle bens and they should have better portions. beware of the blonde waitress she is slow and on another planet. Also the prices are outrageous. There is a much better restaurant up 413 called the candlwyck which is worth the wait.

The Pineville Tavern, in its quest to be the biggest and best has just lost me as a loyal customer.

The new addition lacks any charm or character and is just too big. You have taken a nice, local pub to a non-descript, mediiocre restaurant.

We have choices and I chose not to support or patronage the Pineville Tavern.

I object to the long wait period, the stupid valet parking thrust upon the patrons and the lackluster menu.

It is a shame - it used to be fun to go there.

I used to go here a lot with my family when I was a little kid and I loved it. However I went there last night and I was really disappointed. I didn't mind the business, thats how restaurants are on the weekends, however we were sitting at our table for almost 15 minutes before anyone asked us if we wanted a drink. The waitress that we ended up having was plain awful. The food was decent but I don't think i'll be coming here again.

Larissa M. -- thought your post sounded like someone just looking for a discount. You posted a complaint on their fansite instead of bringing this up to the staff on the night you visited? You can't expect the staff to give you a discount if you don't have the guts to speak up in person... and would you really want a discount on food you claim isn't very good?!? The Pineville Tavern is a happy childhood memory of mine from when I used to live down the street... I'm anxious to visit again some 12 years later - I hear it is fabulous!

My family and I had dinner Saturday night and were seated in the new dining room. Big mistake! Everytime the door was opened there was a huge rush of cold air. My husband changed seats with me but now he was cold. The people at the next table were eating dinner with their jackets on and complained as well. My husband had the prime rib which was very good. I had the trout almondine which was just ok. I would expect that the special for the night would be outstanding, but it was a little dry with just a dusting of sliced almonds and no flavor (very bland) and the rice was dry. My daughter had the chicken caesar salad and the chicken was so charred that she couldn't eat it. When I posted this on the Pineville Tavern FB fansite, they replied to me saying that they were working on the problem and then quickly deleted my posts. I go to this restaurant about 8 times a year and my husband takes clients here as well. For someone who spends around a $100 for dinner I would be nicer to the customers who do complain and make it right. I think they have lost a good customer. After how they handled my complaint I do ever want to go back there again!

Best local spot in Bucks County - good to go if your a regular, or visiting for the first time. Food is consistent and delicious, and they always offer a good amount of specials. Great atmosphere - the tavern was built in 1742. New parking lot provides plenty of space, and there is a new dining room opening next week.

The Pineville Tavern offers everything from wings to fillet medallions! You can eat casually up by the bar or enjoy a more quiet quaint atmosphere in the back room or enclosed side porch. Food has been very good prices are reasonable for what you get. Service has been great when we have been there. Only down side is that it does get crowded and will only take a 20 minute call ahead, which doesn't guarantee you won't wait when you get there.

Pineville Tavern is located between two townships in Pineville, PA. The food is always homemade and very affordable. The service is outstanding. Pineville Tavern goes back to the early 1900's.

I love the Pineville Tavern. You do have to arrive early to beat the crowd, because the food is delicious, the atmosphere is that of everyone's favorite tavern, and some of the "locals" just happen to live out of town.

You would have to try their own Ranch dressing - it's great. The ravioli are my favorite. If the Pineville wasn't around, it would be the end of an era and we would all be homesick for it.

I went here the other night and was very disappointed with the food and the service. Don't order the chicken wings, they were dry and very, very, hot. I like hot wings but with some flavor, These were hot, dry and tasteless. The beer I had was flat and when I tried to send it back I was given a dirty look by the barkeeper.

If your idea of having a good time is sitting with fussy Gay's, listening to boring conversation, getting ignored by the rude bartender, and getting diarrhea, the the Pineville Tavern is the spot for you. They treat the locals great and ignore the rest of the paying customers. Both me and my wife were violently sick after eating there the other night. The first table they sat us in was the size of a phone booth so we decided to sit at the bar. A "local" came in and stood right next to me while I was trying to eat my dinner. This is by far the worst meal I have even had anyplace. This includes my boyscout meals and ex-girlfriends experiments. You'll need to hose yourself down after leaving this place. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!!!
