Modern Nails

I went to 'Modern Nails' to get gel enhancements for my nails...what a joke! My nails ended up incredibly thick and started chipping and peeling within two days. When I went back, the nail tech said he could "fix" them, but laughed when I said that liquid was getting trapped underneath them, as if that were an impossibility. When I realized that the only way he could fix them was to slap another load of the gunky gel he's using on them, I said 'no way' and had him take them off.

I've read over and over again online that a decent tech will not use an electric dremel on your natural nails, but that is what is used at Modern Nails. Like a fool, I didn't check to see if his license was displayed...the only things on display behind his station are an occupancy license for the building and diplomas from what turned out to be out-of-state Vietnamese "schools" which I suspect are actually mail-order diploma sellers.

All in all, a very disappointing experience. Perhaps 'Modern Nails' is fine for manicures, or even acrylic nails (which he kept trying to push me towards), but this is definitely NOT the place to go for gel nails!
