I stayed at Morning Glory and it made the trip so enjoyable. I was visiting my daughter who recently moved here for school. The room was nice and airy, lovely accommodations. Clean, quiet, safe, we had a wonderful weekend much of it due to these terrific accommodations. I will come back again and again!
A wonderful hideaway in Pittsburgh. Although it is located in the midst of South Side where there are lots to do, it is in a very peaceful setting. We actually forgot where we were, it is so quiet and peaceful! We got married here 5 years ago and it was great to visit again. Will definitely be back!
There are really no words to express my thanks to you. There should be more people like you. You and your staff made hope and Ron's wedding a most remarkable memorable weekend. Your beautiful home was perfect setting. Everyone attending raved about how different, relaxed, and elegant the reception was. Your attention to detail made us feel so very special. Thank you very, very much!
The 3 S's should pertain to the Morning Glory Inn. Safe, Secure and Silent. Upon entering the Inn one must gaze at the interior furnishings, and you will find the touchtones that so many of us remember- wood secretaries, a baby grand piano, crystal chandaliers and a beautiful dining area fit for a Queen. For many people, these images are glorious although misty memories of a uniquely disappearing cultural landscape. Then once you ascend the massive staircase and enter your room you start to relax amongst the charms that your room sets forth and comes alive with shear serenity. Be sure to try out the Southside with its many different restaurants, shops, and live music venues. I have stayed at the Inn many times before and all the times have been very happy and memorable.
The Morning Glory Inn is a beautiful Victorian house ?? the room was comfortable and spacious (I stayed in the Garden Room) and in a fun area of Pittsburgh for dining and shopping. It even had a flat screen TV and fast wireless. Dave and Nancy were wonderful hosts. It was the most pleasant stay I??ve ever had in a bed & breakfast (I??ve stayed in quite a few).
I was recommended the Inn by my hairdresser when I was looking for a place to hold a close friend's baby shower. I am so happy we did. It was beautiful. We did luck out with fabulous weather which they cannot take credit for but the court yard where we ate was beautiful. The woman named Joy who the Inn provides if requested to help set and clean up made the day for even the hosts to enjoy. Any request I had they were able to accommodate. I needed an extra table for a craft we did as well as of all things I forgot ice and they had someone get it for me. The shower will be something my friends and I will always remember. Also we did have to use one of their caterers and we used Yes We Cater and they were great too. They were affordable and worked with me on my price range. I cannot say enough about what a great time was had by all.
We had our wedding at the Morning Glory Inn, our guests are still raving about it! It was beautiful and the service was excellent. We stayed there on our wedding night along with our family, the rooms are fabulous! It is a wonderful place.
We stopped briefly on our way home to the East Coast and fell in love with this lovingly restored inn, the funky Southside location and the warm and friendly reception from the owners. Worth a longer visit than the one night we had
Dear Dave and Nancy We would like to thank you for making our wedding reception a very special and memorable evening that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended. We appreciate the professionalism, friendliness, and helpfulness that were demonstrated by each of you. It was wonderful! To truly enjoy our reception and not be stressed exceeded our expectations. You were very accommodating from letting us bring items early in the week, to having a photo shoot Sunday morning. We enjoyed our reception as much as we did because of your role as event coordinators. We knew the Morning Glory was the place for us as soon as we saw it and it did not disappoint! Many, many thanks. Jamilee and Phil White
As we think back to our wedding day, we immediately remember the atmosphere of the Morning Glory Inn and the care you took in every detail. We are so fortunate that you have chosen to share your home with couples like us. We were searching for a place to wed that would reflect our personalities and relationship and we found exactly that at the Morning Glory. A comfortable, relaxed environment that provided a party atmosphere surrounded by nature. The inn has made such an impression on our guests that they still talk about our wedding celebration several months removed. We also cannot thank you enough for the ease in which you made us feel about the entire weekend. You both eagerly assisted us with the endless details and coordination. Your help allowed for us to concentrate on the meaning of the event; which in the end is the celebration. We are quite happily married and could not think of a better place to have pledged our commitment to one another than on the Garden Porch. Thank you for sharing your home with us, for all the helpful hints, and most of all for your thoughtfulness and care that made our wedding celebration special and unique. Thank you- Sincerely.
Nancy and Dave run an absolutely fantastic B&B- beautifully restored. They are friendly and welcoming and willing to do anything to make your stay enjoyable. We will definitely come back again!
We got married there, and returned for our anniversary. It is beautiful. We love it!
Very charming bed & breakfast. Memory foam bed extremely comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Perfect location!
It was really great. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The owners were great. They cared about us having a good time and were insightful about the region. Decor was unique. Our bathroom had no door. Garden pretty.
We went to Pittsburgh for New Year's Day and stayed at the Morning Glory Inn. It is a very charming Victorian B&B. It is beautifully decorated and the innkeepers, Nancy and Dave, were warm and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable as were the beds. Breakfast was delicious. Nancy was very helpful with directions to local attractions.
We had our wedding at the Morning Glory Inn, our guests are still raving about it! The Inn is beautiful and the service was fantastic! I couldn't have asked for anything more, the entire experience was wonderful. We stayed there on our wedding and our families were able to stay also, the rooms are fabulous.
Nancy and her staff were so understanding. Made the problems seem so small. Thanks to them for making the weekend I wanted.
Thank you, thank you! for making our day so special! We couldn??t have been happier with everything you did for us. The Inn was just as lovely as we knew it would be. And our parents were so pleased to leave almost everything in your hands and to have it go so well. We keep getting phone calls from family and friends about how they just loved the whole experience. The bridal party who stayed with us at the Inn felt like they were on a mini-vacation! Your facilities are just lovely and your kindness and hospitality was sincerely appreciated. Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts
We cannot begin to thank you enough for the exemplary service provided to us for our wedding! The Morning Glory Inn was exactly the location that we had envisioned for our ceremony and reception: beautiful, elegant, classy and fun! (And oh, so comfortable!!) From the moment we walked through its doors we were enchanted by its calming presence ?? and amazed by the service that accompanied it!
You were so helpful throughout the entire process! Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing us to begin our new life together at the Morning Glory Inn and for going above and beyond in each and every detail, both large and small! We truly can??t thank you enough.
We look forward to many more wonderful occasions with you!
Sincerely,
Kristen and Andy
Todd and I just wanted to thank you again for making our wedding day one of the happiest days of our lives. Your kind, personal attention was evident in every detail of the day, from the rehearsal to Sunday??s breakfast. The candlelight dinner that we enjoyed together during our first hour as husband and wife will always be one of our most treasured memories.
So thank you for opening your home to our family and friends. We??ll visit the Morning Glory Inn again soon to remember all the perfect moments of our special day!
Love,
Heidi and Todd
I am sure you hear this all the time... but thank you so much for making our wedding day so wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable for us and our guests. We??ve heard such praise from our friends and family, who loved your beautiful home and all of your special touches. Everything was wonderful.
All Our Best,
Laura and Mike
P.S. I??ve been telling all my single friends to get married at the Morning Glory Inn. Not only was it wonderful as the bride, I want to be a guest.
Dan and I wanted to thank you greatly for helping us host our wedding reception. Our guest are still raving about what a great place you have and what a wonderful event it was. Thanks again,
Adrienne
Scott and I would like to thank you for helping our wedding run so smoothly and turn out so beautifully. The Morning Glory Inn was exactly what we wanted and it really allowed us to spend quality time with our friends and family. All of the rooms and the courtyard looked so lovely. The breakfast on Sunday was delicious and was the perfect setting to relax and talk with our family.
Scott and Andrea
We reserved the entire B&B months ago for a wedding party and after being told our entire reservation was being removed, the bride-to-be got a flippant response of, "That's life!" Now I know why this place gets an F from the Better Business Bureau...they don't know how to conduct business at all. I can only hope others heed the warning that your reservations could magically disappear because someone else decided to pay more for your room.
Pros: They're in Pittsburgh
Cons: Full of Business Fail
If I could give this a -10, I would. I have no idea how this place could win any award. Check out the reviews on other webpages, there are more negative than positive. The owner did not even seem phased when I told him I had a horrible experience. He could have cared less.
The male innkeeper had the personality of a doorknob. The place was dirty, the sink handle broke off in the bathroom as I turned the water on, there were white splotches of previous toothpaste users in the bathroom all over the walls, the water sat in the tub while I took a shower without draining and the hot water lasted 5 minutes before turning freezing cold, the rooms were cold with no ability to turn the heat up on your own, it was very noisy outside late into the night, there was no door to one of the bathrooms of the two rooms we rented, the tvs were so small you could hardly see them, the carpeting was dirty. There was no one there to greet us when we got there and I felt as though I was putting these people out by staying here. We lugged our stuff up three flights of stairs. For $900 for two rooms for two nights, we could have stayed at the Omni downtown with no hassle and pleasant people.
Pop a tent and save yourself the hassle! This place is horrid.
Pros: The kitchen help was a nice woman who I felt extremely sorry for because she had to put up with these people.
Cons: Everything.
We have just returned from having our wedding at the Morning Glory Inn. The inn itself is very charming and located in a beautiful setting. However, the owner, Dave is beyond belief - rude, unaccomodating and very difficult to deal with. On our initial visit, he was very nice and seemed to be willing to accomodate any request. As the wedding day neared, his attitude changed 100% and it became apparent very quickly that his initial demeanor was simply to charm us into giving him an outrageous amount of money to rent his property. Our guests found him to be extremely rude and made many feel very uncomfortable.
We dropped by some supplies the day before the ceremony and had a brief run through of what to expect the next day. Since the weather was not cooperating and it was quite chilly - in the upper 40's, we asked that Dave be sure to have the outdoor fireplaces lit and ready to go for our reception which was to begin as soon as the ceremony was over. He would only light 2 of the fireplaces which did not warm the area in the least so all of our guests were freezing in the courtyard.
We were from out of town and the added stress of having to deal with Dave just about ruined the day for us but thanks to a great caterer, minister and florist - everything was wonderful and we just tried to ignore Dave. The most interesting thing is that each one of our vendors as well as the manicurist who did our nails had nothing good to say about Dave - they all said that his reputation was very bad.
The only good thing I can say about this location is that it is beautiful and that Nancy (Dave's wife) is pretty nice but it is obvious she is told what to do by him and doesn't have much influence or control over him.
My advice is NOT to use the Morning Glory Inn for any special event as the cost is very expensive and you do not get the value for your money. We wish we had known all the negatives before choosing this location
Pros: Beautiful inn and great location
Cons: Rude and unaccomodating owner
