Bought lawn service as a gift for Mother's Day. From the very start it was a hassle. They didn't come weekly as agreed, sometimes when they came you couldn't even tell they had done anything - no trimming along sidewalks or driveway. One week they didn't do it claiming we had not paid, yet they had not invoiced us yet. The next month we had to ask again for an invoice just to get it. A thoughtful gift turned into a joke. I wouldn't use them. Poor service, poor response, and they never take responsibility for their errors.

Business Response:

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAHAHA. I hate cowards who hide behind anonymity. Really Mr. Cunningham of North 21st St., Philadelphia PA 19103? Let??s tell the truth now, shall we? You don??t live at the property. You live 30+ minutes away. You only visit the house once a month, maybe. All the complaints that you speak of were not yours, but of your bitter, half-senile mother-in-lawn, who did not want you to hire a lawn service against her will. She had never needed a service until her husband died this year. She felt that you were taking away her independence by hiring us against her will and that she could maintain the property on her own. It wasn??t a ??present? as you claim. Every complaint you had, I addressed. I walked to the house (the property is walking distance from where I live) and I checked on it and got back to you for each of your 9 complaints before I finally told you, that I wouldn??t work for you any longer. Your statement that I never followed up on your complaints is a BOLDFACED LIE. The first complaint, that the lawn was not cut: UNTRUE. I walked over, saw that the lawn was mowed, and called you back. The second complaint on the second week, that the lawn was not trimmed: UNTRUE. I walked over and saw that all trimming and edging was done properly, and called you back. The third complaint, that the lawn was too high: UNTRUE. We couldn??t cut it any lower or the grass would scalp and burn. At this point I asked if you would hire someone else because I didn??t want to get in the middle of your family issues. You asked me to continue your service at this point because, as you explained, your mother-in-law was NUTS and you like dhow quickly we responded to your calls and emails and that the prices for the work was upfront and fair. I reluctantly continued your service simply because we have 7 other lawns in a 3 block radius. None of the other customers in your neighborhood complained about missed cuts, grass height, missed trimming or missed bills. Only you complained. At this point, I should note, that Mr. Cunningham of Philadelphia got 3 MONTHS behind in his bills despite that each bill is the same flat rate for monthly service, mailed AND EMAILED on the first of each month, and due by the end of said month. I DON??T SEE HOW YOU NOT PAYING FOR 3 MONTHS IS MY FAULT. We bend over backwards to serve our customers, so we hung door-hangers at each visit. We hung 3 HANGERS each time we mowed; one on the front, side and back doors, so that there was no doubt that the crew was at the property. Mr. Cunningham of Philadelphia, who is a complete piece of garbage, claimed that my guys drove up to the house one day, hung the door hanger, and left. This is simply not true. I have GPS tracking devices in my trucks. On the day in question, the lawn crew was in Radnor all day that day and the garden crew was in Bryn Mawr, no where near this property. When I confronted Mr. Cunningham of Philadelphia with his lie, I terminated our service immediately. He still swears that the truck was on his street despite the scientific proof that it wasn't.

Recently, we decided to renovate our back yard. We did not hesitate to call Landrum Landscaping LLC. They had been our landscape and gardening company for over 10 years. Our project of $12,000 was to expand our yard, put new lawn, put a new patio, as to set up the new lights for the new BBQ area. We got other quotes before asking Peter but his price was fair and his knowledge in landscaping and hardscaping gave better options for our project. Because the project was so massive, Peter was kind enough to let us pay him in installments. Not only he did a good job but he did it for the price that he quoted in the time frame that he promised. Now, we are enjoying our summer in our new outdoor room. Thanks to Landrum Landscaping!

We were new to the neighborhood last July and Landrum was our choice for two cuts and minor yard cleanup (branches, etc.). It was clearly outlined in our emails to Landrum, the cost would be $35 for this service. It was also clearly stated that we weren't ready to enter into a contract for regular services. The cuts and cleanup was to be completed while my wife and I went on our honeymoon. When we got back, Landrum had mulched most of our flowerbeds above and beyond the agreed services. A month later we received a bill for $698!! Also, one of Landrum's crews showed up to cut our grass again after we were back. We had to run outside to stop them from working. We proved our case with Landrum via email (he doesn't pick up his phone), yet he is still persuing the money he feels is owed. In fact, we just received a letter from AmerAssist Collections asking us to sign some letter verifying the amount we owe is correct.
Our credit is nearly perfect, no credit issues and we pay our bills and for services that we ask for. I'm not sure why Landrum put mulch in our yard, but it seems as if they made several mistakes in their scheduling and possibly made a customer mix up, but are willing to force us to pay for their mistake.
STAY AWAY FROM LANDRUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Business Response:

Mr. Jim B. is actually James Baker. I never did any work for Mr. Baker. He is a compulsive liar and his review of my company should be taken down. I did, however, do work for his wife, Amy Katzeff. Ms. Katzeff contacted me 2 weeks before their wedding and requested that we do landscaping for them while she was away on her honeymoon. The work was supposed to be a surprise for her new husband upon return from their trip. All email correspondence reflects the work that was to be done while she was away, unbeknownst to her new husband. Upon return, however, he was mad that she paid us to do the work that he likes to do in his own garden. She in turn denied having hired us to do that work, despite the email chain discussing the work that she wanted done. She even called me from her honeymoon (I have the phone records and 2 witnesses to the entire conversation that took place) to confirm that it was being done in time to surprise him when they returned. Please pay me for the work that we did, or lock up Mr. Baker and Ms. Katzeff. They are theives and liars. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Peter Landrum, owner, Landrum Landscaping.

Used these guys in the past. Reliable and reasonable, pretty average as landscapers go. they also clear snow in the winter, as a few neighbors use them and have good things to say about their work.
