We rented a vacation home at Pocono Lake, PA through Pocono Rental Realty for 3 days over the Memorial Day weekend. After our vacation was over, we received a call the next day from the broker that a TV was missing from the house. We told them that we did not take it and have photos taken showing the TV minutes before we left. We told them to file a police complaint for the theft and let them investigate and that we were willing to face any investigation. However both the broker and owners (Juan and Nhora Fernandez) were not willing to listen to us. The owners said they dont owe provide us any proof that we took the TV.
Since they had our deposit, they simply found it convenient to confiscate our deposit.
We have now filed a complaint with the Pennsylvania District Attorney.
We are not recommending that any of our friends ever do any dealing with Pocono Rental Realty, the broker Sandy Ortiz and house owners Juan and Nhora Fernandez.
All we wanted were a few fun days to spend our long weekend but ended with a unnecessary headache.
Don't be cheated out of your hard earned money.
We took care of the house well and still ended up losing our deposit - for a theft we did not commit. Dont fall prey to the same scheme yourself.

AVOID RENTING WITH THESE REALTORS BEFORE HURRICANE IRENE. THEY MAY TAKE AWAY YOUR DEPOSIT FOR DAMAGES DONE BY THE HURRICANE - WITH THE REASON THAT YOU WERE THE LAST ONES TO STAY THERE

I am an owner of a property that I USED to rent thru Pocono Resorts realty, never again. The agents are unprofessional, misinformed and need a lesson in customer service. If you have even the slightest problem, forget it, it comes back on you for being your problem and you get yelled at. I am so thru using their service...they are irresponsible about your payments, and problem resolution and if you are waiting for a return phone call, don't hold your breath!

This is the worst realty that we have ever had business with. As owners of a property, we take great pride in the fact that we provide a clean, well maintained, well supplied, and attractive setting for a vacation experience. Every effort is to provide the best for the dollar. We wish to have satisfied renters return to enjoy themselves in our home away from home. We had several leases provided by Pocono Resorts Realty from several of the realtors of this office. Each time, there were huge consequences from the renters these realtors secured. Damage, theft, filth, non-payment of fees were but a few of the issues surpassing the security deposit amount. The realtors understandably claimed no liability. However, they neglected to obtain contact information for any of these renters in order that we could obtain the excess of costs to us. In one case, they refused to collect the required rent due for the property which allowed the house to be occupied rent free for months. One of the realtors, when requested to review a problem at the property in order to correct the situation, told us he would charge us for his travel and time, over and above his commission of 25%. He said the travel of 15 minutes was out of his way. If there was ever an important issue to discuss with any of the realtors who were responsible for a particular lease agreement, phone calls were never returned. Emails were never answered. The office manager, Jeanne Bingham claimed no responsibility for any of the actions of the realtors in her office. Finally, the person we use for cleaning refused to clean after any of the renters secured from this office, telling us that it was always a nightmare. In addition, Pocono Resorts were so slow to pay them the cleaning fee which was prepaid according to the lease agreement, that we would pay the cleaning person ourselves and we would follow up for reimbursement of the fees. The process could take months with numerous phone calls and emails from both ourselves and our cleaning person. To add insult to injury, Jeanne Bingham would deduct money from the cleaning fees for processing. During one of the most horrible renting experiences, Tim Lenahan, from this office, called the renters, "Nice people". These nice people cost us thousands of dollars in unpaid fees, left the majority of their personal belongings behind, left rotting food in the kitchen, caught the oven on fire, abundant trash behind, and so much filth that the cleaning person refused to enter the house. This was the common condition of the house following a rental period which had been handled by Pocono Resorts Realty. The only way we were able to get our house back to us after the "Nice People" was to turn off some of the utilities. Non-performance of responsibilities is too soft a complaint for this business. Unsatisfactory is also not an accurate description of their services. As the summer vacation rental period approaches, it appears that the best information for both renters and owners alike, is Danger. We should have fired this office after the first bad experience. Little did we know that it would be followed by several more terrible and disrupting situations.

I had almost the same experience. Jeannie Bingham seems to run the show. Needless to say I will not be going there again.

I don't think they even deserve one star!!!!
Please, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This was a horrible experience. When we checked in , the house was FILTHY, but when I called and asked for it be cleaned, the lady on the phone YELLED at me that it was late in a day and she could not do anything. I asked WHY am I paying a cleaning fee, and she answered that it is for when we check OUT. Apparently, they just collect cleaning fees but never really hire professional cleaning... Well, when I explained to the real estate lady that we could not move in the house that in such terrible condition, she simply HUNG UP!!!!! It seems like, nobody in this agency cares about anything. Stay away!

My family and our friends rented a home from PPR. We found the home dirty, unsafe and the "improvements" shoddy. Some of the dishes had grime in/on them, none of the smoke detectors were working, three bedrooms had NO smoke detectors, the kitchen did not have a smoke detector, no fire extinguishers, extensions cords in permanent use, cords laying on the heaters, nails sticking out more than an inch in some places, broken glass on the deck, dirty toilets, dirty thong underwear between the wall and bed along with a broken bottleneck, broken door handles, exposed pipes, missing electrical covers, and the list goes on and on. The manager was unconcerned and said they were not violating any laws. They plan to rent it again. Beware! TT1126 is the number. PPR1, TT1126, TT22, John Sharkey, Complaint, Review, PA Landlord Tenant Act, Pocono Resort Realty, Vacation Rentals, JFBB, Lake Harmony, Towamensing Trails, Albrightsville, Rights, Short Term, Cabin

We contacted POCONO RESORTS REALTY for a New Year vacation rental. Agent dealing with a property was a new agent, Lorraine G. Amato. It appears that she fraudulently altered agreement sent to us for initialing without Property Owner??s knowledge, promising certain things.
Moreover, she wanted a CASHIER??s check payment of almost $3,500 without a fully executed agreement. This is the same as giving someone CASH and not getting receipt for it. She is totally unprofessional and not to be trusted as she has lied, misrepresented and distorted true facts. As much as her office (Jeanne Bingham) confirmed her inappropriate behavior, there is a general cover up.
BE AWARE that the Agency may be collecting non-refundable payments and not providing the services promised or honoring terms described in the agreement.

Agent Diane Puma took her time showing us around the area, and even bought my daughter ice cream at the local ice cream parlor. We were very happy with our purchase, and when it was time to sell six years later, Diane got the job done. I would recommend this realty if you are interested in renting or buying in the Poconos.

We sold our Pocono home through Pocono Resorts Realty. Mark Thornton was our agent. He was very good as making our listing visible and was able to get very close to our asking price. We recommend them!
