This place is great! I was new to the area 5 yrs ago. i went to Abington nails and never had a great experience but it increasingly got worse till i almost didn't leave with my cuticles in tact. ALL my neighbors recommended with is place. The first time i went in Man(his name) was doing my nails. I was sold! I told him of my terrible experience. Ever since I will not go anywhere else. They are fun and family oriented. The twin brothers are hysterical! If you go during ellen degeneres show i promise you will have the best time with laughter not in short supply. The clients thats go are great too. Most are friendly. Its a great neighborhood place. Now me and my mom go. They always ask how my mom is. Every business has its off days but i never had a bad experience here.

I recently had my nails done at this establishment. I did as I always did - try to respond favorable - there is much discussion going on over the customer's head in another language. Almost all the customers are American of some sort including myself. As we were at the stage of giving money, I gave my debit card as I have many times before there (I've been going there for some 5 - 8 years, even before the current owner bought the place - former owner made her money and went back to Vietnam with her newly earned fortune from America. I guess the new ones will too) At any rate my card came back try again. Not declined, just try again. He - the nail tech choose to tell me it was declined. I said no, means try again maybe the lines are busy. He insisted that it was declined. I gave him a regular credit card it came back the same - try again. The paperwork in fact says transaction failed. He insisted that meant it was declined. At any rate I found him a card that the machine would accept. I said to him as he was painting my nails that I could just give him a check to expedite this and he replies - we don't take checks, Americans write too many bad checks. I was appalled. Since they did not accept checks I had to think that this was how management thought. Never mind that I had been going to this place for over 5 years now and never had a problem of any kind. I even put up with this particular tech when he was high from a dental appointment this past Jan. He gave me a very bad refill. I had to go home and redo my nails. I said nothing because you always sit and listen to their problems or you sit in silence as they can't communicate with you because of the language barrier. To say that "Americans" as a whole "write too many bad checks" is making a very big assumption. And since the implication is that "Americans" were somehow beneath him is unacceptable to this American. The only way I can make my point is to not go back there. I only went there because it was close to my home. Certainly not because it was 40 minutes of great conversation with someone who seemed to want my money. Getting your nails and hair done is suppose to be relaxing not a stressful place with not being able to understand conversation going on over your head. I felt that since I had been going to this place for so many years, I deserved and expected better service and understand. I checked with the bank and found that no request for 25 dollars was made. I've checked twice, same answer. I will be taking this further. This is America and even I am protected by the Constitution although I was born here. From an "American " who is sick to death of folks who don't want to learn English and who are only interested in the "American" dollar.
