.

Ballinger is involved in dismantling what I call 'Philadelphia's Monticello.' Ballinger is participating in a project to move the most important teaching Art collection in the world from its specially designed home, the Barnes Foundation Art Collection.

The Move is inconsistent with the Last Will And Testament of the Dr. Barnes and the PA Anti-Move candidate for Attorney General won Philly by a landslide, but Ballinger is still 'in' on this unpopular move.

To all who truly know The Barnes, the move, I suggest, represents the desecration of Architect Dr. Paul Phillipe Cret's Golden Age Merion PA Mansion that Cret designed to eternally house the incomprable Art collection of turn of the century pharmaceutical magnate, Albert C. Barnes.

The Art Collection is the most important educational collection in the World and may be a homage to Dr. Paul Cret's other creation, Flander's Field Memorial Chapel, which is now in the perpetual custody of The American Battle Monuments Commission.

Ballinger's participation in the unpopular proposed 2011 Barnes Move suggests it either disregards or misunderstands the Barnes Foundation's relationship to our WWI War Dead through the Cret connection, to American Cultural History and to Philadelphia's Golden Time of the 1920s. The Cret Connection involves a possible connection between Cret's Philadelphia' Barnes Museum and his Belgium Chapel at American Cemetery 1252 which is dedicated to 43 WWI Unknowns - this is a theme actually explored in the placement of the Art in the Galleries and the physical placement of galleries 4 and 3 facing Belgium in that order.

By supporting this unpopular effort to move The Barnes from Merion to Center City Philly, Ballinger is saying it is ok to leave the magic of Paul Cret behind. To ignore Cret and to toss him aside in the hope that the Move will increase tourist traffic in Rittenhouse Square reveals that Ballinger doesn't value Cret's artistic vision.

The problem is that Ballinger is involved in a project that must minimize the importance of Paul Cret to succed. The problem is that Paul Cret helped to articulate the honor and power of Philadelphia and Philadelphians won't forget him, ever. Cret gave Philadelphians one of their most finest and everlasting symbols of grandeur in the Ben Franklin Bridge. To help tear the Art, the heart, out of Cret's Barnes Foundation Mansion is a disgrace. Ballinger should be ashamed to be a participant in this project. Philadelphians won't forget you, either, Ballinger, however, you will have earned the dubious distinction of attempting to devalue the work of one of their favorite sons, Dr. Barnes, and one of their Artistic fathers, Dr. Paul Cret. Shame on you Ballinger. Oh yeah, the Phils won the series 4-3 and Dr. Barnes liked baseball. Do you think he's telling you dopes something?

Indeed, a current Philly/PA Architect wasn't apparently thought to be up for the design task by the misguided New Trustees at The Barnes Foundation. The Barnes was a Philadelphian's creation, but that isn't good enough for the New Trustees, they went to a New York Firm to do the real design stuff on the unpopular Barnes Foundation Move anyway. Ballinger is subordinate to the New York firm named Tsien.
