I have been a client of Dr. Foster's since he opened his practice. At the time I had a 4 month old puppy with a rare genetic disease. Dr.Foster was extraordinary in his compassion, care, and knowledge with my puppy (and a freaked out new client) and his facility and care was the reason that I was able to keep the puppy alive to grow up into a normal healthy adult dog that went on to become my third operational search and rescue dog. I have been an active participant in the care of my dogs while at his office - most other vets prefer that you leave the animal to them while they take the dog to another room to administer shots or perform certain tests - I can say that I love the fact that my dogs are all completely comfortable in his office and do not get stressed when he walks in the room. Isn't it true - the dogs know who is looking out for their best interest!

Being new to the area and without anyone to offer advice, I completely freaked when my cat seemed to have swallowed a needle. I used Google to find a vet in the area. Called Highgrove and learned they had Saturday hours, but no appointment available. Emily must have realized I was on the verge of panic and made it possible for me to drop him on Saturday AM so he could be examined and xrayed in between appointments. Jocelyn completely put me at ease that he would be well taken care of, and impressively, Dr. Foster called me personally to tell me the outcome of the exam. When I picked the little needle eating devil up, Dr Foster took the time to show me the xrays and explain what I could expect to happen next. Fortunately, the "outcome" was exactly as predicted and the little devil is home, none the worse for his ordeal. I would, without a doubt, recommend Dr Foster and his exceptional staff for veterinary treatment. The "boys" and I will be back!

Where to start? Dr. Foster is my first choice vet. He is thorough, knowledgeable, and caring; an all around great person and one of a kind veterinarian. He not only examines and treats his patients professionally but also treats each patient, in my opinion, as his own. He is extremely easy to communicate with and no question goes unanswered. He really does go above and beyond.
I was first referenced to Dr. Foster for some testing that was not available through my regular veterinarian; my dog (Ashley) had developed cancer. The whole process was very emotional but Dr. Foster was there for us every step and honestly put our minds at ease; Ashley was getting the best care.
Two specific events come to mind when I think about how Dr. Foster goes above and beyond. One occasion was when she had unexpected diarrhea (an absolute mess) due to her condition/medications. He gave her a bath without being asked. It was a tear jerker when I returned to pick her up and saw that she was all cleaned up and happy. The other event that stood out was when I finally decided to have her put to sleep at the end of round two of cancer. Dr. Foster made himself available to do the job outside of normal hours/location. It made all the difference in the world. He reassured me that I made the right decision.
You remember people through experience. Dr. Foster made the experience a good memory as opposed to what it could have been. I highly recommend Dr. Foster and his supporting staff.

Dr. Foster has been our veterinarian for over 4 years. We have had 8 different pets under his care. Two of them experienced extremen health issues including cancer. In every incident Dr. Foster has provided the best care and shared the information needed to enable the appropriate decions about treatment for the animals sake. Dr Foster is genuine, and I feel he is the best veternarian we have ever had. I trust all of my furry children's health to Dr. Foster.

I have to say that Dr. Foster is probably the best vet I have ever used for my animals. I have never seen a vet more loving and caring. He has always taken his time to answer any of my questions. I have a cat with some special needs, so I always have many questions. I have referred many of my friends and family to him and they have all been happy.

I have read the review, posted on June 6, 2008, about the puppy that had the bad experience. All I can say is that my dogs have always been correctly and humanely restrained when needed. And when the vet took the pup out of the room, they should have asked what was going on. An owner needs to speak up and be part of the process and say if they don't like what's going on. Vets can be helped with owner input. That is one of the things I like about this practise. Doctor and staff both encourage questions and are patient about answering them, even 'out-of-the-blue, over the phone, when you have a problem' questions. This is a younger doctor, up to date on the latest advances and more nutritionaly aware than our previous, older vet. I never feel hurried and am quite satisfied that my animals are getting good, thorough treatment.

At Highgrove, my puppy panicked during treatment; the vet displayed little patience, and quickly resorted to pinning her to the table. After the ordeal, he said he needed to do something with her, and took her away to a room, and never explained what he had done. It took months of patient work for her to recover from this. I felt that a panicked puppy would warrant more careful treatment.

Dr. and staff care about the animals and take the time to help get your pet back to good health. Small practice with big heart. Will work with you after hours and by appointment. They also carry specialty dog food and can do blood work and x-rays on site. Check them out.
