I think the selection and workmanship is superior to so many places I have been to, as far as the store , I mean who cares about pot holes and duct tape. If you want to pay for the look of the store , go to Manor House, and pay the outrageous prices for the fancy lay out of the store...that's just stupid!
Can you say low overhead.
I know the owner and she is really nice, and could never imagine her being rude....well maybe to SOME people !
This is a review of Vitte?s furniture: It is unique store but ??...
I have seen Vitte?s furniture at the Pittsburgh Home and Garden show for the last couple years. I was going through some old home show literature and found their flyer. I decided it stop by.
First Impressions:
The parking lot looks like war zone: pot holes, patches, gravel, ( A lawyers dream !!!)
The awnings in the front were faded and falling down ( No Joke, It looked like a dump!)
The Exterior was dirty and not maintained, ever hear of a broom?
The Good:
Lots of furniture
Gives you that ?I?ll find a bargain felling?
Unique items and gifts
The Bad:
Cold as a meat locker, I don?t think they heat the place!! (Wear a coat) Probably opposite in the summer
The sales lady I talked to was rude and impolite
Lots of tarps on the ceilings to catch leaks ( No Joke!!) , duct tape on the floors
The Ugly:
I purchased some furniture, paid 60% for finishing!! And was very disappointed
The delivery crew was not professional by any means ( Pick the stuff up your self if you can)
When you get the merchandise look over it with a sharp eye, if you sign the paper it yours!
Good luck with customer service (One you pay for it, its yours!)
No follow up or professional onsite repair
Overall:
Unique, in many ways: Truly a Mom and Pop operation, which in my opinion has the product but not the service or staff.
Good luck if you have an issue with the lady that runs the store!
They are not into price negotiation, no deals (you pay sticker!)
I would check the place out but be for warned of the above notes, Good Luck!!!!
Vittes has a nice selection of unfished furntiture, and they are willing to special order items if needed. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, you will definately want to choose this option, because they charge about 60% of the item's cost to finish the item. Also, the store does not have a/c, so you'll want to avoid it in the summer.
