While this is a lovely place for a special date, I went here with a group of girlfriends and had a great time as well. They're set up for intimate dining (at tables for two by the window looking over the green area in front of the hotel), or groups (at larger, but still intimate, tables) equally well. We all enjoyed the five-course tasting menu. If you go this route, just let the chef determine the courses from among the options - they'll flow together really nicely. Service is impeccable - not too rushed or too slow, and the sommelier is very good, and can recommend a great wine (or two...) for the meal.

Sunday brunch options are fantastic. Although the price may seem high, the food is amazing.
The make your own bloody mary bar is lovely.
Very unique items and worth every penny!

My husband took me their for our 10th anniversary I will never forget the wonderful dining experience very different food not something I would ever think of making. They give you a tour of the kitchen immaculate. The food is beautifully presented the staff is so professional. I would not recommend this for children and would recommend wearing nice attire. $$$$ but worth the experience.

Talk about feeling pampered! This is a wonderful place to spend a Spring weekend in Philadelphia! I love being able to walk in the Square! There is so much to see and do in Philly all the time, and this area of Philly is so comfortable and yet elite! Everything about the Hotel is perfect!
I have also attended a Bridal Shower High Tea here, and I have to say that it was impressive!

My husband and I dined at Boathouse Row based on a friend?s suggestion for a low-key bite to eat on a random weeknight. The place was desolate, and should have been our first clue. The only people dining and at the bar were out of towners, clue number two. The menu offers bar food and a few tradition dishes such as roasted chicken, burgers, etc. We ordered the wings and they were average. We ordered the fries bc they came with three dipping sauces. The sauces delivered to us were tartar, ketchup and vinegar!!!! The mussels were lacking in flavor and broth, very bland. All in all, not one of Philly?s best. Skip the Boathouse and spend your money at one of the many other wonderful Pubs that the city has to offer.

This is really the class act of this city. I travel here often and this is the first time I have stayed here. The rooms were lovely, the staff very good, the spa, swimming pool area was great and the La Croix restaurant was super. It is expensive but worth it.

This historic hotel can only be described as a jewel. This is one of the most beautiful hotels Ive stepped foot in in my life. My room had a gorgeous view. The service here is extraordinary. The room rates are sky high, but they are definitely worth it. The room I stayed in was very well-furnished and was luxurious. I loved this hotel

I stayed at the Rittenhouse the night before my wedding & the night of - it is a gorgeous hotel & we adored our time there. It's also conveniently located in the middle of town, overlooking Philadelphia's most exclusive square. On our wedding night we stayed in the Presidential Suite which is absolutely divine - huge and beautifully decorated. We hosted about 30 of our friends there for a casual brunch & it was the perfect way to end the weekend. NB - the hotel's restaurant Lacroix is one of the best in Philadelphia - superlative cuisine & lovely setting.

PROS: Fantastic location, beautiful facilities
CONS:

The Rittenhouse is a hotel full of history with luxurious accommodations. The rooms are beautiful, have good city views, and really nice furniture and dcor. They have tvs and internet access, and the location is superb. Pets are allowed which is different from most hotels. The service is really good and the staff is very hospitable. Prices are pretty good for such a great hotel, and parking isnt bad either.

Since new management the bar has gone from great to horrible and it will only get worse. The servers are great people but management has seemed to get the best of them. Its ok though, if you want to try a place with good food and a great chef try Blue Bell Country Club. Youll find a good percentage of the old Rittenhouse staff there which used to make the Rittenhouse shine. Now, Blue Bell stands tall.
