I can't put my love for Whole Foods into words. I've been going there since it was Fresh Fields. I did take one year off around 2004. I only went to Trader Joe's during that time. The reason, however, had nothing to do with the quality of the store. It was because a girl there gave me her number and I never called her and felt so bad that I didn't want to see her. Another worker befriended me in 2007. Very friendly, but creeped me out a bit when he got my haircut, selected my major in college, and continuously asked me to be in his "film." Cashiers have helped me out in the past. At one time I was getting up to 50%-off of purchases regularly. They hire the more attractive sampling of the population than Trader Joe's. While Trader Joe's has a hickish feel, Whole Foods has a hip and elite feel. I walk proudly in Whole Foods, sometimes, while other times I am so intimidated by the cool people that work there, I search the registers for the eldest or dorkiest cashier to check me out. I am completely sickened by how busy the store has gotten in recent months. The stuff isn't overpriced. Their produce is pristine, is incomparable, and my daily visits never end with disappointment. My favorite worker is Walter. He's like an old drunk uncle who makes me smile and laugh just by looking at him. I don't like the produce manager. He seems like d-bag.

I have been shopping here since it was called Fresh Fields, so that goes back quite a few years now. While I am not always happy with the prices, this is the best local market for high quality groceries and produce, as well as an excellent fish and meat department.
The people who work here are wonderful and very helpful.

What a wonderful supermarket! Great selection of whole/organic foods. A bit more pricey but well worth it. Many items are freshly made, each day. Great selection. Love the Sushi bar. Staff is always friendly, available and knowledgable. The cheese area has many different selections and the staff their are always willing to help you and offer suggestions. Very Clean and easy/quick check out lines.

PROS: Clean store, always stocked, friendly staff
CONS: none

This is my favorite Whole Foods store in the Philadelphia area. It's squeaky clean, organized, and always well-stocked. Their prepared foods/salad bar/hot bar section is out of this world; I've never seen such a selection of beautifully presented, healthy foods. And there's a nice (if rather small) area for sit-down dining. All the people in the store are super-friendly -- I've always gotten good service there, particularly in the cosmetic/health and beauty section.
