I have been ordering online from this company for the past 8+ years. I have never had any issues with shipping of products, lost shipments or back orders. My items have always been as described and received within two days. I have a 175 gallon fresh water tank and order filters, food, lights, pumps and never any problems. Great prices, good products.

The store does carry many unique species of aquarium plants, fish, reptiles, and small birds. I will give credit also to the wide array of stock carried by the store. For the most part, all the fish and animals are taken care or with the occasional flaw here and there. Sounds all good right? Wrong. The store's employees are usually severely lacking when it comes to knowledge of the animals they are in charge of. I once inquired about a turtle and what size tank they recommended, I, knowing full well that the rule of thumb is 10 gallons per inch of shell. The turtle I asked about was a small reeves with a shell of approx. 5 or so inches. The employee proceeded to show me a 30 gallon tank and said it would be plenty big enough. Even though I ended up purchasing the turtle, I bought a 50 gallon tank because of my prior knowledge. Dont even get me started on the customer service. There are those few employees who actually know what they are doing but are usually very few and far in between. The entire store would be infinitely better if the current management was replaced and employees who are dealing with the animals knew what they were doing at least to a proper degree.

It has been 3 days and they still have not sent out this item! One #@$%& and they can not get it shipped out. Plus you can not get through to their so called customer service. They have also charged my account even though they claim that they did not. It is a "Soft Hold". For all intents and purposes they have charged the account because I do not have access to the money.

That fish place in Lancaster Pa, store purchase policy sucks. If you buy anything at this store, make sure you are satisfied with the purchase you bought because the staff will give you a hard time with any kind of store credit or refunds including their fish even when you do have the reciept. If you have any questions make sure you know the staff persons name you spoken to, because if you go to another staff person for the same questions they always give you a different answer especially when it comes to fish or fish aquarium problems. They give you a big headache.

After several e-mails back and forth - one of which accused me of causing the delay in receipt because I paid the requested Priority Mail upgrade costs rather than ship by slower ground (a bizarre response to say the least) - this company finally refunded the upgraded shipping I'd paid for; however, they refuse to refund the cost of the items ordered until I return the items.

I cannot return the items since I never received them. Because this company claims it does not insure shipments nor use tracking numbers (claiming tracking numbers are not available on USPS Priority Mail) they expect me to pay for items I did not receive.

I will be notifying my credit card company as well as the online Better Business Bureau.

I placed my order on Saturday, and they didn't place the shipping order with UPS until today (Thursday). I was hoping my order would be here Tuesday like orders i place on Saturday with other sites usually are. My poor turtles wont get their UV light until sometime next week unless I go buy another one locally. But that kind of defeats the purpose of ordering online to save money.

Overpriced, and staffed with sales people instead of folks who are knowledgeable about animals. Also, somewhat disorganized. The cat stuff is scattered around amongst the dog stuff, a pile or shelf here and there. The Internet will replace stores like this eventually.

I bought 3 Lionhead Goldfish - Small Item #: 208512 for a total of $17.97 and I bought 1 Hypostomus Plecostomus "trinidad (common) Pleco" - Small Item #: 208563 for $2.99.

This was a gift to my mother that is very sick.The box arrived and I opened it right away.The box smelled very badly.

I looked at the bags and noticed one goldfish was dead.I took him out and placed the other two in the tank.I was surprised another one was dead to.So know I have two goldfish that arrived dead.

The other 2 fish are ok but I ended up paying $55.95 for 2 fish!!

I called them within 4 mins after I got the box and said I would like the fish replaced.The said they would be more then happy to replace them but I have to pay the $34.99 for fedex charges.

So lets say I did this--4 fish would cost me $90.00!!

this store is not as great as they'd have you believe. admittedly, they have the best prices and selection on supplies, but that may well be matched by online retailers.
i've been there 3 times now....
my first trip there, about a 2 hour drive, i found that many of the fish listed as "in stock" on their website that same morning were either absent or listed 'not for sale'.
the second trip was better, though the fish selection was still a little underwhelming.
the third (and final) trip consisted of my initially being refused a fish. the sales associate insisted, based on two other fish i had purchased that day, that my tank would be overstocked. he didn't bother to find out that i have 6 tanks. i had to speak with a manager to get the fish that was my whole purpose in going. the manager was very nice and understanding, but the sales associate was a total a-hole.
the selection and prices are better at a-z pets, a mere 35 miles away in reading...and the staff there is much more polite.
...and don't even get me started on that pet place's reptile prices...

I bought 2 red eye tree frogs from them . when I called on the phone I was told that they were cb I live one hour and thirty five mins away . When I got there the guy didnt know squat about frogs . Or to wash his hands before he touched them because of the acid in our skin so I wet my hands and hand picked the ones I wanted after i paid for them I found out they were wild caught . When I asked if they were wormed or treated for parasites they didnt know and neither did the reptile manager . Ohh and the best part was the frogs had no guarrentee. I really think I will take my chances online buying frogs from now on . its a nice store but has idiots running it .

Not bad store, has a lot to offer, but as a continued customer, I times come in for plants or fish and most the time get use to waiting but not a real problem Do watch coming in on Fridays or if you see new plants or fish in the aquariums, they won't sell them to you. It takes me about a half hour to get there and I saw some great plants I wanted, but they said they were not priced and couldn't sell them to me. Heck, I didn't travel all that way to find a plants and a fish I wanted to be turned away. I went home emptied handed, wasted my time and gas. I went on line that night and ordered what I needed off the internet, which can be a good deal at the right sights.

That fish place has a lot of really nice stuff. They do not take care of their animals however. My friend bought a gecko from the store that had red mites all over it. He didnt realize it until about a week after he had purchased the animal. When he went in to talk to the reptile associates about the problem, they told him that his guarantee period was up. They told him that there was no way that they came from the store(the red mites). My friend did not argue and went about shopping in the store when he came up the 3 other geckos that had red mites in three separate cages. He pointed this out to the employee and they have since treated the mites. If they were in the cages like that, that means they spread to other cages, although they did not see them. Red mites can travel a preety good distance in a day, and can live a good amount of time without food. They need to be treated for a month after the last mite is seen...all things I know that werent done. please be careful buying reptiles from this store. There are many wild caught animals, and animals from personal breeding stock at this store that do carry mites and are untreated, leaving the mess to the customer who paid for the animal and only found out about it a day after the guarantee is up. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BUY!! KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING!!!

I ordered an item online, paid for it, waited for it. I made an appt. to have my item engraved (this took many, many phone calls until I finally found someone able to do it, an hour an a half away on my day off.) I received the item a couple of days later.
The wrong item was sent. This wrong item cost $13 less than what I had ordered. I called the store from my job to make arrangements to have the correct item sent. After some persistence, they agreed to send it Overnight so I would still have it in time to make the appt. for engraving. Had my order been filled correctly, I would have made the appt. no problem. Arrived on a Thursday, appt. on Monday.
After this phone call, I got home that night from work to find an email saying they don't have my work phone no. and there is no Overnight delivery - something that should have been verified before we got off the phone. The cut-off time (which I inquired about before we got off the phone) was 2 pm, so regardless, it was now too late to send any corrections out that day.
So instead of sending the item, hoping it would arrive on Saturday anyway or receiving by 10:30 am on Monday, they sat on it. I called Sunday, but the girl that helped me doesn't work Sundays and the girl I spoke with knew nothing about it. I called today and found out the girl who originally helped me is off all week.
Never again. This was a gift to be given at a farewell dinner. I will find this item through another company and undoubtedly have a better experience.

That Fish Place is a decent size store with everything you could need for your pets. They carry fish tanks and fish, along with the supplies needed to take care of the fish and they also have hamsters and rabbits along with other animals there for sale. Also, they have supplies for dogs and cats and birds (they also have birds for sale). At That Fish Place (That Pet Place) they have just about everything one could possibly need for their pets.

That Fish Place That Pet Places offers a huge variety of fish, fish tanks, accessories etc. Also they offer this really cool area for kids where they can touch fish as they are swimming (small wading pool with fish). After watching Nemo my son of course wanted a fish and the staff was very helpful in finding just the right one for him.

That Fish Place That Pet Place is a really great discount pet store. The store is equipped with so many fish tanks, all full of fresh and saltwater fish. The facility is huge - there is even a separate room for reptiles and small animals. They have supplies for all your pet needs as well as pond supplies. There is also a really cool sting ray touch tank. The prices are great and the store is large and fun.

They have it all and for almost every type of animal you are looking for. Great place for kids to come and check out the reptiles too. I drive a distance just to come here for bird food. Only place that carries it. Staff is also so nice and helpful!

We go here and get all of our aquarium stuff and have gottne most of our fish. We have never had a problem with our fish living either when purchased from here. Plus our kids love the big pond in the store.

How could have not yet visited That Fish Place? The tore is huge! Fish, birds, reptiles and a Humane League Satelite location to adopt a dog or kitten.

Rows and rows of fresh and salt water fish with the tanks well marked. Live plants for your tanks as well, a whole room of them.

There is a giant section for outside fish ponds as well. Check out the coy tanks, they are so cool!

There is also a salt water touch tank with fish and horseshoe crabs and starfish.

It is like a trip to the zoo with cash registers!

However, it's well worth it, as most staffers are knowledgable of pets, supplies and all things that will make your loved ones happy.
