The Olive Garden is generally a fairly good Italian restaurant. The soups and pastas are delicious, although some entrees are a little expensive for a chain restaurant. My only complaint would be that the service in Lancaster is often poor.

Great food, lackluster experience

Upon entering the Olive Garden on a Sunday evening, one will be captured by the sound of people chatting, the beautful aroma of italian food, and the feeling elbows in your side as a path is cleared to the hostess. The name is given, and 75 min. later, we are seated in the dinning room ready to be served.
The waitress is at our table promptly, and takes our orders. It is not long before we are feasting on appetizers and the "never ending" bowl of salad. After just one serving each of the salad, we were assured by our server that our food would soon be arriving. Joy ensued, and we barely even notice that the "never ending" bowl of salad had been whisked away, still half full. Much to our horror, the salad was never returned.
Two waitresses stopped by our table, and I looked up, thinking that our en trees may be in hand. But much to my dismay, their hands contained only a check for another table, and the stood there, discussing the tip.
A few minutes passed, and our food was served, piping hot and steaming, by a server who was not our original waitress. Our waitress stopped by a few min. later, and was gracious enough to bring a refill of Coke in place of a Dr. Pepper, which is what I ordered, and bring some take home containers to our table.
All that was left to do was pay the check, and finish off those lovely Andes mints that are brought to the table at the conclusion of each meal. The check was taken, the tip was pocketed, and the two of us walk mint less out into the night.
In all seriousness, the waitresses need to take their tip conversations to the back, the lobby needs to have a little breathing room, and more tables would be a great addition.
I would recommend going there, just based on the food. I had the Seafood Alfredo... very good. My fiancee had the Chicken Parmigiana, and that was very amazing. Good food to be sure
