Benjamins was a very pleasant surprise. The food and the service was excellent. We ate in the bar area and had a very pleasant conversation with the owner and his wife. They are both very eager to please and make serving their customers the #1 priority. What a concept! The food for both my wife and I was very good (chicken and steak). I plan to return very soon!

The Fillet Mignon I had there was extremely good. In general, the menu has enough of a variety to satisfy anyone's cravings. The atmosphere inside the Victorian house is very elegant. Conversely, dining in the bar area is very casual and relaxing. It's the best of both worlds.

Benjamins is also ideal for lunch. The wraps are a personal favorite of mine.

There is nothing inspired on the menu, and absolutely nothing 'Mediterranean' about it. Standard fare includes steaks, salmon, salads, pizzas and pastas. Red pepper soup was good as was the NY Strip, but why serve what appear to be frozen veggies? Most disappointing is the wine list - it's an armload of usual suspects from the nearby State Store - not an interesting pick in the bunch. I would expect some wine picks that are at least somewhat 'in touch' - a few Spanish, Oregon & Washington selections could stay at the modest price point but offer much better value.

Food: sometimes good; sometimes so-so. Service: Sometimes excellent; sometimes amateur. Ambience: Always good. I've had excellent food and service and really terrible food and service at Benjamin's. It seems unpredictable... but its a beautiful place to sit and eat and meet friends. And, when the food IS good, its worth the price.

I had gone off of a Ben's a few years back but had heard recently that he had some new offerings and a new Chef so I thought I'd go back. Fantastic. The food is absolutley the best I have had ever. I'm back as a regular.

Although the Victorian house is cozy and it's nice to have a choice to sit outside, the food and service was lacking. Food was nothing to rave about - if you want to try it, I would suggest you go for lunch instead of dropping more money for dinner. I have tried this restaurant 3 or 4 times, and each time, the server wasn't as knowledgeable about the menu as he/she should have been.

I have been eating at Benjamins since its grand opening many years back. Benjamins carry's with it year after year a reputation of great food, fun family dining, with a wholesome small town experience. The prices are so inviting that people will drive from the city of Pittsburgh just to experience dining in an early 1900's Victorian home. It's a one of a kind establishment with a menu to die for. Try the Lafayette and spice up your salad with a little raspberry vinaigrette. I would also recommend trying a bottle of the Menage a trois, it is nothing short of spectacular. So if your wondering of trying Benjamins, whether it's a five or forty five minute drive the experience is worth every minute.

We have eaten at Benjamins a couple times for dinner. Both times the food was great as was the service. The food is a little expensive, but I think it's worth it. It is a beautiful old house with seating on the first and second floor (talk about a workout for the waiters/waitresses!) as well as an enclosed area outside.

Benjamins is a great little unknown of Western PA. The victorian home turned resturant has beautiful atmosphere with dining in at least four of the large rooms. There's also a bar, and space for private dining. Food has won many local awards, and service is always strong. There's also patio seating for warm weather. Food is usually a little pricy, and bussiness casual attire would be most appropriate.
