First let me say that I have no problem with the quality of any of the products. EVERYTHING is fantastic and I've tried just about everything. I have two complaints. One being that not enough hard rolls are made on a daily basis. They run out way too quickly. My other complaint is that the hard rolls are too small to make a decent sandwich and quite pricey per dozen considering the size. The hard rolls that they call 1 and a halfs are a regular sized roll and are perfect but you have to order them. Why can't some of those be made to have on hand? I just don't understand why something as common as a hard roll has to be treated like gold...like a commodity. It makes no sense to me to have to special order an 8 inch roll.

PROS: The best bread and rolls in Philly
CONS: Hard rolls are too small and too hard to get

It is really hard to explain my feeling of Depalma??s into words. My grandfather took my father and my father took my siblings and me. I am keeping the tradition alive by taking my son there when I can. Everyone is right when they say it is the best. It is the best because nothing has changed over the years. Omg! You think the bread is great you really need to try the tomato pies and garlic sticks oh and we really can not forget all the other things they have like pies and cookies. Everything is simply to die for and always will be for generations to come!

I probably never would have known about Depalma's if they didnt deliver to the deli I visit every week. I picked up some of their bread one week and was instantly hooked.
I don't know how they do it but it is perfectly made. Perfect crust and chewy inside, absolutly delicious!

PROS: Wonderful breads
CONS: Have to look for them to find them

This is a little bakery on side street with no parking. It doesn't stop the people from coming in for that great bread. I've never had bread quite like theirs. It's crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. It's perfect for meatball sandwiches or toasted dipped in coffe or tea. They have the best italian bread in the area and have been in business many many years. My only complaint is that the roof of your mouth is torn up after eating the rolls because they're so thick and crusty but it worth it.

The absolute best italian bread, baked fresh and hot! I crave their bread, with a very thich crust and soft in the center. It's because of them I'll never give up carbs!
