We will never order from this place again. We needed a total of 5 pizzas for a meeting being held at 12:30 pm. We called and placed the order around 10:45 am (before they even opened for business - 11:00 am). We wanted them by 12:00 pm

Joe's Pizza is the bomb! I probably go there a few times a month. The eggplant pizza is to die for, the Sicilian is great too. they just added a few trendier selections; Goat cheese and arugula, or fresh mozzarelle with truffle oil! Imagine that! The place is often pretty busy. In the warm months there is a line out the door. But the gusy are pretty quick and you get your slice hot and delicious in under 5 minutes.
Joe's gets my choice for best of Philly.

I am sorry to say, but this pizza was flavorless. I searched for evidence of spices and all i could find were 10 little specks of who knows what on each slice. The sauce also flavorless and they are easy on the cheese. The only thing they have right is the temperature. The unfriendly staff could care less that you're buying their pizza. Sorry Joe, but your pizza's gotta go :(

I don't understand why people like this pizza and put up with abuse to get it. The crust doesn't stay crisp for long, they use cheap inferior greasy cheese and the sauce tastes like it has been sitting around for awhile. What's more puzzling is why anyone would put up with the behavior of the employees in this joint. Wake up, Joe!

My daughter and I go to Joe's once a year. We take the speedline to Phila and make a day of it. We call Joe's, the Pizza Nazi like in Seinfeld's the soup nazi. Who's next, NO ONE next?!??!!?! It's great pizza!

Let me first say that I am not in any way affiliated in any professional way with this joint, and I am also not one of those sleezball owners writing this in response to the negative reviews. However, the pizza is seminal and delicious. The plain slices are good, with a doughy yet cooked crust which is delicious. The sauce is decent as well. However, I can understand why this pizza does not fit the penchants of others. Don't like a light and airy crust? Don't like slightly greasy cheese? Take the cheese off and have the tomato pie which is a simple triangular slice of bread with some diced tomatoes seasoned and drizzled with olive oil. Delish, Don't just stick with the plain either even if it does appeal to your descriminating and/or husbandry taste buds. They have sicilian, ravioli, and the list goes on and on. The service is well, unprofessional if not down right rude due to the italian red headed man who takes your order. Thinking of his job as a joke, he tends to offer you the wrong slice, and if you are an attractive lady, he will gaze at you much like a womanizer if he doesn't feel like saying "que bella" (which means how pretty in italian) in a creepy way. Whether you will go through obnoxious service for great pizza, its your choice.

I've had Joe's pizza many, many times, and it's good in the sense that all pizza is good. But on a scale of 1 to 10 -- 10 being perfection a-la the former Lombardi's on 18th or the Trenton, NJ tomato pie places like De Lorenzos and 8 being some of the really good thin crust pies from Bertuccis -- this place is a five at best. Doughy, undercooked, too much cheese and sauce resulting in an overly thick, gloppy slice that is similar to the standard pizza chain pies.

Joe's Pizza is one of a kind the constant smell of fresh piping hot pizza rolling out of the oven is marvelous. The Service while it shows a little need for improvement is manageable and doesn't overshadow the marvelous pizza at Joe's.

I just ordered two large pies for delivery, and the person who answered the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. After an hour of waiting (even though the place of delivery is two blocks from the store), I called again to see the status of my order. First, they hung up on me. When I called back again, they told me it was on the way without even asking who I was and after telling me to "Relax buddy." When the pizza came, I tried to figure out which was worse: the pizza or the service. The pizza was extremely greasy, undercooked, doughy, the ingredients were not fresh, and the delivery man was rude. I'm not sure why this place gets any business, I will never go there ever again and I tell all my associates and friends not to go near it. I would not be surprised if I came down with some type of illness after eating this pizza.

I went to grab a slice of pizza after work Joe's Pizza and the guy that took my order was laughing with the girl at cashier right at my face. They were also very rude and speaking spanish. I was tired from work and this service...very disappointed and offended in the same time. I almost wanted to leave the pizza and take off. Pizza itself was just Ok.

Although this place is always packed, it's packed for a reason. Great food and reasonable prices make this a can't miss, folks. They make all sorts of strange pizza concoctions that will make you drool, like ravioli pizza, chicken marsala pizza, barbecue chicken pizza, hawaiian pizza with peppers, and many more.

Joe's is one of the best pizza places in center city. They have a great selection of toppings and speciality pizzas. The staff are friendly and the move really fast. At lunch time, the palce gets really crowded and some times a line stretches out the door, but the wait time is not long. They have plenting of seating so it's good for eat in or take out.

They serve some of the best pizza I've ever had. The hoagies and steak sandwiches are good as well!

Don't let the line outside the door intimidate you, it's well worth waiting!

I read some good reviews of this place, and decided to stop in, but left highly disappointed. The first problem is that the counter where you order is right in front of the door. When a crowd forms, it's impossible to get in or out. There is no set line, so everyone just stands around waiting for someone to ask them what they want, and that takes a while. A complete lack of organization. Pizza was bland. Nothing special. The only reason to go here is because there isn't anywhere else in the immediate area to grab a quick slice.

Cons: , Pizza, Crowd

The pizza at Joe's is below average thick bread (NOT thin crust) pizza house fare. Not at all appealing. They are very rude there, and screw up my order at least 1 out of every 4 times I go there. So I don't go there any more. The food just kind of stinks.

Where can you find the best pizza in Center City Philly ? Just round the corner at 16th & Market Streets and you'll find the ever-present lines of people outside of Joe's Pizza. Just make sure you know what you want BEFORE you get to the front window. As soon as they can see you, they're gonna want your order. Your slices then go right into the ovens. By the time you reach the cash register, your pizza is piping hot and delicious. It's truly a "no rules" pizza place. They serve dozens of pizza topping combinations at Joe's and anything goes. You could try something new on every visit.

Joe's pizza has awesome chicken barbeque pizza. During the week, at lunchtime, you'll get served in what seems like less than 5 minutes! Be prepared to order though, b/c the line moves quick!

NO PIZZA FOR YOU! These guys aren't exactly winning any "BEST OF" categories for charm. Talk fast and tell 'em watchu wan or they'll move on to the next sucker who has also become addicted to the tangy BBQ chicken pizza. I once asked for Turkey and mashed potatoes just to see what they'd do. Wasn't pretty. I think I've been black listed. On the plus side, they have an unbelievable variety of pies and they do deliver to your office. Thin crisp crust is tasty and Ive found theres no blotting necessary. (I just hate that, dont you?) They have my vote for best cheapie lunch in CC. If youre a chick, bat those lashesyou just might get some extra toppings for free. Seating area over looks street. Stand in lineit moves faster than you can say "Hey, you talkin to me?"
