Outrageously Delicious

by Anonymous

I've had this for my birthday cake for every year of my 35 years. Their hazelnut (but dont think it tastes ANYTHING like hazelnuts at all) is truly original and artfully made EVERY time. You wont find a lighter and more satisfying birthday cake. delicate chocolate shaving coat the edges, and fluffy buttercream is in between the light and spongy layers. It is a total delight and can also be enjoying in small portions at the shop in completely chocolate shaved single serving sized morsels. THE BEST~~~~!!!!!

The best of the best

I consider myself to have a sensitive palate, and so I appreciate the subtle, refined bakery goods they sell here. The cakes are not overly rich and creamy and fatty (but still they aren't exactly figure friendly!) like cakes from Whole Foods, and they leave you feeling satisfied, not buttered up and ready to explode. Everything is fresh and of high quality. I always come here just for special occasions, or even to just pick up some coffee. I don't pass by much, but I am willing to make the special trip here now and then. It is nice how all the bakers and clerks seem so happy and enthusiastic. They know a lot about what they sell. You can count on them. They will steer you well. Sadly, the quality comes at a price; I spent $37.xx on two cakes for a loved one's birthday. That is more than I usually spend at the grocery store. But you get what you pay for.
This store gives you that folksy feeling. They have a little screen door I remember and decor is almost nonexistent. When you come early, however, the aroma of fresh baked foods is overwhelming and so tempting. If you just want to look don't come in. you will be tempted into buying something, anything.

yum yum and yum

by Michelle H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,252

That about sums it up for everything at Swiss Bakery. As a college kid I used to get up early and take public transportation to get my boyfriend's frat (and ME ) fresh stuff in the morning. The best cookies, cakes honeybuns and forget about the stuff they do for the holidays. Praise to the Lord!

Fabulous cakes!

by Lisa T. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,244

The Swiss bakery is very close to my office and we always order our cakes from the Swiss bakery for office parties and celebrations. The cakes are very light and they are so good. They have many different flavor combinations to choose from. They also make amazing cookie and pastry trays.
