I recently got a new dog. I went here to get her checked out. The first vet there I saw was ok. I went back a couple times and saw a Dr Katz. By far the worst. She acted very spacey and did not seem to care at all. I asked questions and she had no answers for any of them. My dog was having bowl problems and she did not even test her to see if anything was wrong. She gave me some medicine for something she wasn't even sure my dog had and sent me on my way. Two weeks later my dog still has the same problem. I had to come back in the office also take off of work because of the inconvenient hours. They made me pay to see the doctor again even though she didn't do her job the first time costing me a total of $300.00 in three weeks instead of just paying once when I was there the first time. Not only that but my dog was in pain for those few weeks because of her incompetence. I'm writing this review because I am a true dog lover. Times are hard an no one can afford to spend that much money on poor service. I have recently switched vets and will not be giving anything but poor reviews of this facility. Its a shame the whole practice will have to suffer, however the staff there isn't friendly either. I had a receptionist tell me of their available appointments. I told her I had to call back to make sure I could come in at that time. She gave me attitude and said well it may not be available by the time you call back. Excuse me, am I the customer? Needless to say I think you get the drift. Poor service, poor staff.
We have been taking our beagles here for years. I dont even live in the area anymore but when you find a good vet, you keep going back. The staff is friendly and attentive; you can tell they truly care about the animals. Dr. Denish and Dr. Katz are amazing and take time with your pet to ensure the animal receives a comprehensive examination (more than I can say for some physicians). They are very thorough with explaining any procedures, medications, or potential health issues your pet may have. I take my beagle here for her routine check-ups, shots and teeth cleaning and have been very satisfied. Dr. Denish was also able to refer some behavioral specialists as well for aggression. I couldnt be more happy with this place and only wish they were closer to downtown.
Dr. Denish is an excellent vet. He is one of the few vets in the Philadelphia area that did an exotics internship at the zoo. If you have any unusual pet, or just a dog/cat, I'd have no hesitation is selecting Dr. Denish. I also remember his lectures he presented at the Philadelphia Herpetological Society --he is very personable and has a great skill set. I never met Dr, Katz.
I find it hard to believe the negative reviews posted here. we have been bringing our pets to Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital for quite some time and we have always been pleased with the quality of care provided. I am comfortable with both Drs Denish and Dr Katz and the office staff has always gone the extra mile to get us in on short notice when needed. Our oldest dog (15) had a rough last 2 years with a number of age related illnesses , but both Doctor Denish and Katz worked with us to help keep him comfortable and active. Dr Katz was also very helpful when we finally had to make the decision to have our beloved put put down. Thanks to all at Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital. If you want quality care for your pet , this is the place.
I took my cat of 16 years to the Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital on Saturday 9/24 and the vet was very nice but advised me my female cat had cancer and it probably spread to the whole body. She maybe had a month to live and we could take her home and give her pain medicine but we decided it wasn't fair to our cat so we put her to sleep. The vet was very sorry for our loss. Yesterday in the mail I received a sympathy card for the vet's office and it was a very kind thing to do and I really appreciated it.
We have been taking our Pom Brandy to Dr Denish for years he has always been great with her and us they are affordable and they truly love all animals in August Brandy passed away and Dr Denish and his staff took care of everything including the cremation she was returned to us in a very beatiful wood box with Brandy engraved on a brass plack now Dr Denish takes care of our new puppy Kayla just wish he could make her stop chewing everything lol!! Thank you so much everyone at Rhawnhurst!!

We've been taking our German Shepherd there for over a year. Every time he had an appointment it has been with Dr. Katz. We don't think Katz is very thorough. IE: Ask a question, you get either a yes or no answer with no explanation. We're thinking of switching to Dr. Denish because we've heard such great things about him.
Parking is a pain and this place sits on a very busy street so you have to be extra careful.
All in all- the staff is OK, prices are fair, Dr. Katz is a crappy vet, and the parking sucks. We??ll be trying Dr. Denish and if he??s as bad as Katz we??ll be looking for another place to take our dog.
My friend recommended this Animal Hospital and I took my two puppies there for the first time. Both of their locations are great, clean, and they don't make you wait. Both of the Veterinarians I met are great and they are compassionate and caring with the pets. I love this place and I'll continue to use their services.
I have been going to this animal hospital for about 15 years. Adam Denish is the veterinarian I choose to see, as he is very intelligent, compassionate, thorough, moral and truly loves all animals. I am in the dog grooming industry so I hear a lot from my customers regarding their veterinarians, the costs, the treatment, etc. I have heard a lot of horror stories about other places. I give Dr. Denish a very high recommendation. This is not to slight the other doctors there, I just am not familiar with them, but am sure if Dr. Denish trusts them, they must be competent.
Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital horrible!!!! They misdiagnosed my cat! Said he had nothing wrong with him and still charged me, Took him for a second opinion and he has tape worms and a fungal infection in his ear!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME THERE! they only care about money! Not the welfare of you're pet!!!

My yellow lab passed away suddenly in my home, I called Nicole at Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital. She helped me through this difficult time and they took care of everything for me. I chose to have my dog cremated and they took care of the whole process and returned the ashes in a beautiful wood box with her name engraved. It was a blessing to have them help my family through this heartbreaking event. Nicole was a key player in this process. I won't go anywhere else for the care of my pets.
I have been taking my "Penni" to this hospital for 3 years now. Dr. Katz is extreamly gentle with her and Penni is not very happy when she goes for a check up. The prices are great. But most of all, Penni gets the best care.

P.S. The hospital is very clean.

Professional, personable veterinarians and staff. Compassionate, efficient, effective care. Gentle with pets and owners. Explain things well to owners; involve them in the care process. We've been going there for years, and they have always taken good care of our cats. Parking is a problem, but it is the only one.
Took my kitty there for anal gland problem. Vet very gentle with her. Kitty is one of those "hard to handle ones" and vet calmed her down. Prices average. You are allowed to watch your pet being treated. Parking is at a premium though. Nigth hours better for that reason.
