Governor Mifflin Apartments is one of those apartments that seems good at first but after you live at it you wish you was somewhere else. After being here almost 2 years and knowing many of the residents you find out that everyone pays different rent prices for the same size apartments. Rent increases every year...along with the nice greeting from management giving you a letter saying how happy they are to have you as a resident for the year and by the way your rent is now XXX.XX. They have had several issues with the gym being closed for long periods of time. They seem to have many issues with the security system at the clubhouse. However just wait for April to roll around every year and you can see your hard earned dollar at work making the landscape appear nice...all for show. They do have activities at the clubhouse but just my personal opinion...the lady in charge of the activities has some serious issue with kids in general so most residents seem to avoid the activities. As far as the pool goes there is no lifeguard but what do you expect after all that landscaping. In general the pool is only open during business hours unless they have a night swim which last summer they had about 2 or 3 per week. However the word is that the lady in charge of the activities seems to like to say she will not have any night swims because of the poor attendance at the other activities. However I guess this this attitude seems to fit the same as the new lady at the front desk. At one point they seemed to have someone nice but now it is all downhill. Recently there has been issues with glass being broke around the buildings. I guess they can't afford to monitor this or have cameras because of all that landscaping! Basically this place is all for show and once you get in you can't wait to get out.

After moving out of governor mifflin apt. i have never been happier. My family and I lived there for 2 very long endless years. During that time we had issues of our storage unit being broken into, flea bites on my1yr. old. pretty crazy when we didn't own any pets. After about a month of complaining and mant. telling me that they didn't have any other complaints i being the daughter of a man that worked for an extermination co. caught and saved one flea in a container (FYI the capture of insect was in the hallway of our apt. building) they finally paid for extermination of our apt. but made no attempt for the hallway. other issues were lots of teens with lots of time on their hands i awoke 1 morn. to a broken windsheild on my SUV. Paper thin walls and floors is an understatement whenever i would vacuum before 10am or after 8pm the tenants below would hit something on the ceiling and the ones above would stomp around for at least an hour to prob. discourage me from ever cleaning again. Governor Mifflin apts. were the 1st and last apt. complex i have ever lived. A bad experience or just lack of proper management, maintenence, proper upgrades? A POOR community if you have a Family take it from experience. Rent at your own Risk!

not the worst place you could stay, but for a few dollars more a month you can probally get a dishwasher, laundry in your room, and a water heater that lets you take showers longer then 5 minutes. not too mention a sink that will turn off when you want it to, floors that have been made after 1950, walls that are thicker then paper, and a gym that isnt closed at night for no reason. but if you dont need any of those things and cant afford the 20$ a month upgrade it would take to go to a different apt, then i guess the gov mifflin is for you.

If you are reading this, please be warned..
Governor Mifflin apartments are terrible. Management raises the rent every year and do nothing to upgrade the apartments. Sure, they have a GYM and Office center, but the office center is never opened after 6 pm, and the gym never has the proper equipment to sanitize the machines. Overall, the area is very nice, but the management is awful, awful, awful..
My lease runs out in April, Can't wait!

These apartments are HORRIBLE. There are animals in the walls and constant problems with the drains. Also, I have a first floor apt and the area under the sink constantly leaks cold air in the winter, why' because the foundation is seperated from the wall and the entire apartment leans to the one side. anything heavy has to be drilled into the wall. The carpets arent actually put in properly, they're just laid in place, not stapled or glued or anything. and speaking of carpet...the entire apt is carpeted, kitchen and bathrooms included. We have had non-stop problems with our heating and air conditioning. at one point our ac and heat were running at the same time and our electric bill skyrocketed but they didnt do anything to help us. they said they fixed it but didnt because then the AC started to leak freon and our entire heating/cooling system was covered in 4 inches of ice. the apliances are old and don't work properly. our storage unit was broken into recently and they didnt get thru our lock (that we had to provide) they ripped the hinges off the door frame. it still hasnt been fixed. We've had deliver people being robbed and all they did was put up signs. most of our windows dont lock properly. you can hear every movement of the people above you. our latest complaint is that our shower was so clogged and no water would go down. we told them about it sat afternoon and had to call 5 times and when the maintenance guy finally called back he asked if it could wait until monday because they only did emergencies on the weekend. this is AFTER he had told us sat night that he would be out sunday morning. we informed him that not being able to shower IS and EMERGENCY. Its absolutely ridiculous. And while the rent starts out low...$725 for a 2 bedroom...it quickly increases...ours went up from $725 to $815 after our first year. We could get a lot more somewhere else for $815/month. Oh, and if you have kids dont let them go to the playground. there is graffitti and broken glass everywhere. its a hang out for older kids to smoke pot. The office doesnt seem to care about that either. And the pool doesnt have a lifeguard anymore...apparently they didnt want to pay someone to be there..so there's no guarantee that the pool is even clean anymore. All in all...unless you're a college kid and dont care about all of these things, don't move here. the only benefit is that you can't hear the people next door to you...I know, i have college kids next door..i only hear them slamming doors in the hallway at night and smoking right outside my window.
