I would give them zero stars because they don't even deserve one star! Their customer service really sucks ass and they have this holier-than-thou attitude with most people who come inside their second hand clothes shop. They act like they have all this fashion knowledge when in reality what they really have is a bad attitude very common to those who have everything handed to them on a silver platter and never have worked a day in their life aka Snobs...! need I say more? stay far away from these bitches and save yourself the aggravation. You will find nicer clothes in an actual thrift shop, and yes trust me you might be able to find brand names on occasion. I was hoping to sell some of my clothes that no longer fit me, but as many other people, were told they were too out of date. Plz what a joke, my clothes were the same or better to what they were already selling in their over-priced little wannabe thrift store! I ended up donating my clothes to the GoodWill down the street and hopefully some young ladies were able to find something of mine that they could use for themselves. The commercials and radio ads you hear for Plato's Closet are misleading and false. I hope this fake company goes out of business someday.

So i drive 60 miles, round trip, to take six bags of used clothes to PLATO'S CLOSET after calling them last night and again this morning to verify that they would be interested in buying them -- only to be told when i got there that they only buy clothes that are a year old or less!!! You think they might have told me that when i called? How many guys would be selling dress shirts as used after less than a year?? The shirts were from Express, $50 - $60 a piece, all like new, yet they were "too old"... isn't that what a "used clothing" store sells?

Well this place reeks of sweaty feet. The staff is rude and I'd like to know how they are still in business. Everything is wrinkled stained and unfortunate. They have filthy shoes for sale and stained purses. Who shops at this dump? I wasted 5 minutes of my life in this gross store and that was 5 minutes too long

I haven't been to this store in a while but the "Under New Ownership" sign caught my eye so I went in. Everything is so well organized and everyone there was really nice. I needed to find something specific and the girl behind the counter stopped what she was doing to help me find it. I can't wait to clean out my closet because the girl in front of me got $60 for selling things she didn't want anymore!

A new Plato's closet opened in my area a few years back and since that time I have been in a few times. I was definitely not impressed with what I saw, all they have in my location is Old Navy and Forever 21 stuff.
I recently cleaned out my closet and gathered some things that don't fit me anymore. Since they were designer items like: Benetton shorts, Ralph Lauren polos, BCBG tops, Calvin Klein pants, I decided to try and sell them at Plato's closet rather than donating them.
After waiting in the store for 40min the sales lady told me they were passing on all the items because they were over 12months old. I would understand if I were trying to sell them a trucker hat, but I would think they would want quality, classic, designer clothing!
Plato's Closet doesn't have anything but Forever21 because no one wants to sell their $60 shorts for $4 after 2months.
So if you want to buy a used $6 Old Navy shirt instead of a brand new $9 Old navy shirt. then PC is for you. If not, look elsewhere.

I'm sorry, but Plato's Closet sucks. I brought in two bags full of nice, "in style" name brand clothing that I no longer wear. I waited for at least an hour for the snooty workers to sort through them all, and they ended up picking two shirts, three pairs of jeans, and two pairs of shoes. I got $25 for it all..... and I'm sure they're reselling them for much, much more than that. Plato's closet is a rip off.

Ugg. I really wanted to punch the lady who looked at my clothes. I tried selling clothes there... big mistake. I had some nice clothes that did not fit me or I didn't want. The place smells like somebody's basement. The bums that work there have the snottiest attitudes. The store policy is to stay in the store and look at their racks of junk while they pick which of your clothes they want. After waiting 40 min they picked out one t shirt and complained it looked worn. They changed their mind and said they didn't want anything. I was pissed I wasted my time breathing their moldy air for 40 min.

From what they say on the radio commertials, they have "gently used, brand name clothes for less" and pay "top dollar for your gently used brand name clothing." Yeah, that's a lie. First of all, they barely have any good brand names there, very little, and what they do have is usually over a year old. Second, they will give you about $4 for a pair of $60 jeans. I took a pair of Hollister jeans and a Aeropostale hoodie in and they gave me $10 for both. What a ripoff when you know their going to resale the jeans for $25 and the hoodie for $15. Never wasting my time there again.

i would not recomend platos closet at all on their website and radio commercias...they claim that "they have gently used name brand clothes for less" but that is not very true... when i first walken in i expected to see brand names for less but no i was VERY aware i was in a trift store. theyre clothing was used and old ( it even smelled like a hamper) i shoulve knnown i wasnt going to find any $200 brand spankin new limeted edition destroyed erin skinny jeans from abercrombie and fitch jeans at one platos clost. no i found old hollister shirts that were at LEAST 10-12 years old and i figured i could drive a couple miles more to the mall and for a couple dollars more i could get a brand new shirt or tank top at a brand name store. then i tried to sell my clothes there showing that they arent too pikky i brought some abercrombie shorts i wore a few times but i didnt want them anymore and some other shrts i tried to sell there of what those shirts were really worth, they gave me 2 dollars for what was a $60 pair of shorts so its like what the heck they take everyone elses crap but they wont buy anything HALF desent... dont even waste your time there give up. idid about 2 weeks ago.THEY DESERVE 0 STARS!!!

I usually wouldn't buy used clothes but they do have some nice things there. They will give you cash right there if you sell your gently used or new clothes. They only sell and buy designer clothes that are gently used and in style. what I like to do is sell my gently used clothes and buy brand new ones elsewhere.

This shop specialized in second hand designer merchandise. This will apeal to teenagers and young adults more than anything. They usually have a rack or two where they are selling the clothes for only a few dollars, you can really get some bargains here.
