Playful Pets is the greatest Puppy store in the tri-state area! They obviously love their puppies, while I was in there one of the girls there was washing a puppy and singing to it, and the other was down on the floor with a whole bunch of them playing with them and cuddling with them, you can't ask for more caring people! The girls were very sweet, happy, and helpful, they knew everything you could possibly want to know about every dog breed, and they cared more about fitting the right puppy to me and my lifestyle then making a sale! They were amazing, this store is amazing, and if you don't go there to get a puppy you will regret it!

This store is absolutely amazing. The puppies are amazing, the staff is amazing, and I would rather see puppies being able to run around and play then behind glass. The puppies actually get to run around and play and socialize not only with people but with other dogs. I can't imagine a better place to get a puppy!

I LIVED IN CONSHOHOCKEN FOR 40 YEARS. I KNOW PEOPLE WHO WORKED HERE AND I AM IN THE RESCUE BUSINESS, SO BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU, THESE PUPPIES DO COME FROM PUPPY MILLS / PUPPY FARMS. That's a fact! And This place should definitely be shut down- these poor puppies come from puppy mills, again, a PROVEN fact. AKA USDA Licensed Breeders. esp. from Lancaster, PA Amish Puppy Farms. And why would you pay 1,200. for a puppy when there are so many that need a home at shelters? When you shop here you are contributing to the problem and keeping puppy mills alive.
I've been in the store. Many dogs are sick w/ worms and have other health issues. Their 'warranty' is bogus. So after you shill out near a grand or more for a puppy, and it is sick, you better just give it the care it needs, because if you do attempt to return the poor puppy, it will be sent back to the breeder to be euthanized. There is no money in a sick puppy. To young to be breed and breed AKA Puppies for profit hence not worth spending money to fix/vet care. VICIOUS CYCLE. And the workers know this.
This store is nothing more than a breeding concentration camp for puppies who's parents are housed in deplorable conditions. They will LIE TO YOU. PLEASE GOOGLE PUPPY MILLS. 99% Of puppies for sale in Pet Shops come from Mill dogs. Their parents are dying to bring these stores that puppy you see. Ask for the breeders address. Get in your car and take a ride to the breeders location yourself. YOU WILL SEE! When you hear the talk about USDA breeders, please remember they are referring to puppy mills., not private breeders. Those are the USDA breeders. Private breeders do NOT have USDA licenses. Ever.

This business from the 'puppy prince' is on the top 10 in PA for getting their puppies from puppy mills. Looks are deceiving. So the store appears nice -innocent puppies in their wood boxes and wood chips. Please educate yourself potential buyers, Go to your local shelter or rescue group, They do have pure breeds and puppies. 3-4 million dogs die each year in a shelter waiting for a home; why would you pay to purchase at a pet shop or breeder?

DON'T SHOP, ADOPT! TO THE OWNER OF THIS STORE AND THOSE WHO WORK HERE----->GET A REAL JOB AND STOP SUPPORTING PUPPY MILLS-PUPPIES FOR PROFIT. YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED AND CONDEMNED.

PS.THE REAL REVIEWS ARE ON YELP. The positive ones here are from employees and friends who work here. SHAME ON YOU

im out over a grand, plus they have the puppy. the young girl was EXTREMLY RUDE (SHE IS THE MANAGER BY THE WAY), Even cursed at me -I fell in love with the puppy and held her BUT Clearly the reason they didnt alow me to put her on the floor to run around there, was they were aware she had a broken leg, or some leg issue. I was told I couldnt place her on the floor due to their house dog who roamed freely and was aggressive. i went in a small box where i couldnt not see her run around. I called prior to going there, spent time with puppy, asked all the right question. SO HEART BREAKING. As soon as I got home and set her down I saw the issue, called a friend who is a retired 20+ year dog trainer and experienced with vets for the United States Army, he stayed with me an hour at my house or so, and in the end we decided to sadly take her back and get my $1,029.99 back. Teenage girl REFUSED to give me my money back,. I heard the young girl and the other woman, who was nice and seemed to want to refund me, and they whispered A CUSTOMER DROPPED A DOG IN THE STORE THE DAY PRIOR. Im assuming it was this poor puppy I bought and they knew and just wanted the money and did not disclose the issue. This teenage girl became Irrate, intimidated me-I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE!!! They offer a BOGUS 10 day refund policy and 2 year health warranity, i went back in 2 hours and was refused. Tomorrow I will go to my bank, Attorney General, Better Business and an attorney. No one should be treated that way and sell sick puppies. Lie and be irrate and use profanity, in addition, I should have known better as I am most certain these poor puppies come from PUPPY MILLS where the parents are breed and breed till dead and kept in depluralable conditions. She also stated when I said I will have to go to my bank to dispute this "Go ahead lady, people come every week and want to return the pupies because they are uncaring like you and I win everytime because of the puppy lemo law". WE ARE OUT $1,029.99 AND NO PUPPY FOR WHAT WAS A 2 HOUR PURCHASE

I don't think the store manager, Beth is an intelligent person. She denies everything about pet stores getting there puppies from mills. If you are educated about this subject you know where they came from. Beth you can learn alot if you go to the internet and look up 'PUPPY MILLS' .......I know you are not that stupid !!

We got our Beagle there last fall. She is absolutey great. Not a single medical condition and they provided proper paperwork including vaccine history, breeder information, and certifications. Now, our pup was only at the store for a day so that could contribute to her health. However, i did not see any sick dogs there, the quarters were clean, and all dogs appeared happy and playful. Reading previous comments, the store commented about each dog being dewormed at time of purchase, that def. did not happen but we were given information regarding the 2 year pet warranty. Overall, i liked the store.

My husband and I bought out puppy there a few months ago ...and had to bring him to the vet the next day. He had a "chronic lung infection" (which went untreated for weeks) and he was "malnourished." They refused to pay the vet bill and told us it is because they are protected by the puppy lemon law. When we called to confront them the next day they didn't answer there phones or return any of our messages. When I did get ahold of them the woman would not let me speak to the owner, she screamed at me and said "I am tired of people complaining to us about their dogs being sick..all Vets exaggerate so they can hike up your bill and make money. You should have taken him to our vet and you wouldn't have had to pay! (UH, HELLO, thats NOT THE POINT...our puppy was SICK and untreated for SEVERAL weeks under YOUR CARE! That's the PROBLEM!) I also witnessed them TORMENTING the chihuahuas...screaming BOO several times in it's poor little face and laughing. The one worker said that she loves scaring them and watching them shake!! How sick!!!!!!!

Business Response:

Dear Elleon M, I am sorry to hear that you had a problem with one of our puppies. The little chihuahua puppy that you are speaking about was NOT malnourished while with us here at Playful Pets, your puppy was happy, healthy puppy, that ate every chance it got. We did not refuse to pay for your medical bills, you were just being unreasonable, and refuse to talk to us as human beings and instead screamed at us because your vet got you in a tissy! We tried calling to talk to you several times but you refused to be civil with us, so we decided to wait until you had a chance to calm down. Your puppy was not deathly ill, he was not dieing, he only needed a little medication and the problem went away. This so called "lung infection" was just said to make you panic, so that you spend more money, and I am sorry that had happened. If you bring in your vet bills, we will be happy to reimburse you for medications that you had to purchase to get you puppy over its issue. As for the employee, he/she never did such a thing, if he/she did, they would have been reprimanded immediately. Once again, I am sorry that you had to go through this with your puppy, if you would like you can give us a call and we can work something out! Thanks, Beth Ann Neuscwhander, Manager

The owners are rude. They clearly sell puppy mill dogs ...several puppies in the store we sickly. Clearly, they have issues selling pets because the puppies were almost 9 and 10 months old ...perhaps ,because no one wants to buy from a puppymill supporter? Do not waste your time going into this shanty pet store !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Business Response:

Dear Ben, Just because we are a pet store, does not mean we get our puppies from puppy mills. We get our puppies from licensed and registered breeders. They are registered with the USDA, so they have to be legitimate! Do you really think for one minute that my boss would be in business for 43 years if he got puppy mill puppies. I can assure you that our puppies are happy health puppies. I am here everyday and I take care of every single puppy in this store. I feed them, I water them, I bathe them, I love them, and I personally give them preventative medication to make sure they don't have parasites or worms (that ALL puppies are born with by the way). We deal with some of the top Veterinarian offices in the area, if we got our puppies from puppy mills why would they have us as a client? None of our puppies are sickly or ill, puppies everywhere are all born with parasites and/or worms, its just how it is. They are infants they are susceptible to everything, so of course they are going to need medication here and there. Thank you, Beth Ann Neuschwander, Manager

Anyone who would sell dogs that have been purchased from puppy mills, and all puppies in pet stores that are not rescue animals are puppy mill dogs, should cease and desist. People should boycot pet stores that sell puppies, and refuse to buy any pet items from them. Perhaps they will end up having to go out of business hopefully, and will have to rethink their business as a pet store. If they go out of business, and puppy mills have no where to sell the puppies they have created by their greed and ignorance, it makes sense that they will have to get real jobs and stop living off the discomfort of the mother and father dogs that are carrying their weight for them. So by not buying ANYTHING from these pet stores, it might eliminate the abuse of puppy mill dogs!

Dear ZF, Like I have said before, we do not get our puppies from puppy mills, and to say so is slanderous! Our puppies all come from USDA licensed and registered breeders. So they are legitimate. All of our puppies are happy and healthy! If you have an issue with our store, or how we run it please e-mail us privately, instead of spouting your ridiculous banter on our Insiderpages reviews! Thanks, Beth Ann Neuschwander, Manager

We bought our schnoodle here over a year ago. He is the world's best dog (we are a little biased). Our puppy was in very good health and he came to us very well socialized. He recently had a great one year check-up and we continue to be very pleased. We highly recommend Playful Pets.

We purchased our puppy a year ago from playful pets. Today we are so very happy not only with our puppy but with the store. They treated us so very well. We had no problems. In fact we bought a retriever and a terrier. Both are lovely additions to our family. A year later we are still pleased. Thank you so much.

Please dont buy any dogs from these people!! I got my toy miniature poodle from them and although he is AMAZING when I bought him he had worms and was sickly. They have been shut down numerous times for inhumane living conditions for their animals. If anything go and buy one to get him out of there! The last I was there it was so sad all the dogs were poorly taken care they could barley walk because they were too weak...It was a sad operation they have going on and should care WAY MORE for their animals!!!!

Business Response:

You must have the wrong place... in the 40+ years we have been in business and the 16 years at our current location, we have never failed a PA State Dog Law or SPCA inspection or even once been shut down or closed our doors for any reason other than during snow storms! All inspection reports are available for public viewing on the USDA Kennel Inspections website so you can view for yourself. Any customer that walks into our store can see that the puppies are definitely not weak or sickly, in fact we often get folks complaining that the pups are barking or squealing too loudly, or that they are pulling on their clothes, jumping up & going crazy when they see people, etc., and sanitation is top priority. Every puppy is wormed by its breeder before arrival, on a 2-week basis by our staff, and visibly wormed in front of every customer at time of purchase. If you had a problem, you most definitely could have come back, or visit your local Petsmart for OTC puppy wormer. That being said, I'm not quite sure if you're at the same place, because all your facts are definitely wrong. Perhaps you're thinking about the pet store in the shopping center across the street, or others in the area?

We are a Puppy Specialist store, family owned and operated for more than 40 years.
At Playful Pets, we are dedicated and competent animal care workers with dual experience in animal care and retail sales. This way, you are assured that we'll be able to help you find the puppy of your dreams, and that it'll be a perfect fit in your family.
We carry purebreds from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs, hybrids from Peke-a-poos to Labradoodles and everything in-between. All of our puppies come from the finest inspected, licensed and state-registered kennels or private owner/breeders. We do not receive puppies in mass-shipments or from illegal and unsanitary "mills".
Our pups eat all-natural real chicken puppy food, supplemented with a fortifying daily multivitamin for proper growth and development. We also serve our small breeds and new-arrivals a mix containing Pedigree brand canned puppy food with DHA for brain development. Fresh water is provided 24/7.
Our puppies are completely up-to-date on all vaccines and boosters including Parvo, Distemper, Bordatella (Kennel Cough), CAV-2, Parainfluenza, and Rabies when of-age. The puppies are also given a preventative course of worming & anti-parasitic treatment upon arrival. All puppies are flea bathed upon arrival in the store, and washed/groomed bi-weekly so as not to disrupt their sensitive skin. Ears are cleaned and nails clipped as well.
Each puppy comes with a full record of treatment prior to purchase for the new owner and veterinarian.
After you purchase a puppy from Playful Pets, you will be required to have it evaluated by a licensed veterinarian within 10-days of purchase. After the initial vet visit, you will be automatically be covered under our 2-year Health Guarantee & Warranty on all life-threatening illnesses. This is free of charge and is not prorated.
Our puppies live in spacious socialization bins, bedded with kiln-dried pine shavings. The pups get to interact with each other and with customers without being kept in tiny window-boxes or in stacking cages. We feel that this system encourages healthy socialization and growth, not to mention mental stimulation, constant companionship and active play. This greatly reduces daily stress on the puppies.
Please stop by our store to see our little bundles of joy, or visit our website for pictures and information of all available puppies. http://www.playful-pets.net

This store is absolutely amazing. The puppies are amazing, the staff is amazing, and I would rather see puppies being able to run around and play then behind glass. The puppies actually get to run around and play and socialize not only
