The shop is chock full of crafts and jewelry, not the chintzy "country-style crafts but high-end pieces that are more art. I once purchased a piece by a wood-turner that I gave as a gift, for a reasonable price and was a big hit. Another item that would make a great wedding or housewarming gift are the round cutting boards and hand-crafted tools, like the wrought-iron cheese cutter. They also sell jewelry that is very nice. Everytime I've been inside, they have been friendly and very helpful, and the owner takes great pride and joy in showing off the talents of local artists.

Spirit of the Artist is a great place to go for American art. They have a great collection of paintings, sculptures, and other crafts, as well as funky lamps and home accents. They carry some apparel items for women, and also have a few things for men. This store is really fun and exciting and the staff is really helpful. The prices are good. The shop is a nice size and there is plenty to look at. It is a nice place to visit once a month because there is always something new and exciting there.
